Thanks for the link from AWJ. One of the pictures on the link shows a slightly different type of setup, but the other picture: Take a look at the middle lense. Gives it a better look I've been trying to do. How did you split the housing. what temp. oven did you use and for how long?

You're most likely going to have to. I've been trying to change the lenses to a two-tone, but I will warn you, you'll have to add a clear lense to the upper/clear side. Let me know if you come accross the clear lenses. Also, would you mind posting what AWJ stated about how to disassemble the tail lights? Thanks

Well, I wouldn't recommend it. YOu'll have some major electric conversions to make, otherwise it would fit under the hood. I believe the transfer cases are different as well. A turbo from F-max or Toyomoto will do the job, if you're interested in more power. Otherwise, 2jzGTE w/vvti or 2jzGTTE-93Supra TT would also give you some spunk to your car.

It's normal. I'm experiencing the same problem with my SC300. I believe it's due to the cold weather. You could spay some solvent on the battery terminal, and if you want to you could replace the starter, but it depends on whether your car has high mileage and the starter hasn't been replaced before. The smell, I'm not quite sure about, but it could be due to cold fuel entering your engine.

That's okay, I haven't mod'd mine either. The 98's are really nice. I love the fact they already have a bodykit attached. VVTi is nice to have as well. Yeah, the Neon made me but since I have friends with Trick'd out Cavallier and Fukus, that made me say, hmmm

Same here. I did some Tests for Motorweek, and Pat really does know his stuff, although my race Mechanic got into a frenzy with him over something. Yes, he an ASE Certified Master Mechanic. I like Sam and the other guys from Two Guys Garage. They know their stuff as well.

The smell is burn't up gases remaining in the chamber from the previous drive. Most of us with high mileage cars have used non-synthetic oil in the past. According to Mobil, synthetic oils were designed to reduce "wearing of cylinder walls". Since synthetic oils were not available before 1993, and the manufacturers told us not to use it in our engines, we are suffering. White smoke is related to the above, to some degree.

I think you should have PepBoys, Walmart or Sears test the battery for you. Crank Amps should be around 500. If it's below replace that. If it's above, you might have a starter problem, or something else. I'd go with the SC400. ;)

the cheapest mods would be, INtake, better flowing exhaust, and a weight reduction (Donut instead of the full size spare, front seats to lighter Sport Seats).

A 19" rim is very good looking, and for the quick turns at high speed the car will turn on a dime, but there are some problems that will bother you down the road. 1) Weight: the other guys are correct. The extra weight will cause your alignment to move in one direction or the other. More Alignment jobs. Also you'll have to upgrade your suspension, or replace your stock setup quicker than the rest of us with 16-18". Also, your braking distance will increase by 5-10ft. 2) Potholes: Unfortunately, potholes will destroy your rims, and if you miss one, you're likely to destroy both Wheel and Tire--$$$$ Personally, I would go with a 17 or 18". 18's have a very good look, and use very low-profile tire. Wow, this can't be competing with the Stang or the Vette. It's gotta be competing with the ENzo and Ford GT! I agree with you guys. Ferraris, SLRs, they're like the perfect car, but having a self-made supercar is better. Rich, I don't know about you, but the SC with mods, makes me feel like I've accomplished something, as a driver/mechanic. Although having one or winning one would make me change that feeling. ;)

Anybody check out the 92 Blue SC300 in Modified Mag's Feb, 04 edition? Toyomoto Single Turbo, with some interesting modifications. Very nice.

I was reading about that in one of my magazines. I've always waited a 20 seconds, before putting my car in reverse. I usually don't Rev above 2000-2500RPMs until the oil is warm, but then again I also warm up my tires, until the cops pull me over. Master mechanic, Pat Goss from MotorWeek says, you should idle for a minute, then drive the car, slowly. I'm too impatient. :D Yes, it's &#33;Removed&#33; cold here too, burrrrrrrrrrr
