  1. The only one I've seen is made by TOM'S. The first Gen is available through them and a few other JDM guys, and looks like a boxed cage near the diffy. the Second Gen is also similar, but a tad smaller, but you 95+ guys are lucky because Toyota changed the chassis, stiffer. I believe more suspension parts for the Gen III and GEN IV are available
  2. I personally do things myself, ever since i figured out how to do it. If you're considering DIY, I can walk you through the procedure. If you're not, I would recommend buying the parts from Lexus or an OEM distributor, and having an Aftermarket Retailer/Tunershops to install them. They are the cheapest, and most tunershops hire good mechanics who know what they're doing.
  3. VMF: Unfortunately there isn't a wooden shifter, and the only company that attempted to make one has gone out of business. Custom is the best option. I don't think anybody else is making another. Also, your HID kit had a separate harness for the High beam? Who made your kit? Can you image I had to make my own. Silvermate: $450 is half of what was offered to me, by the William Rau wood company. they're the ones who refinished my monitor station. I have american stitches saved on my browser. Something I learned from the William Rau group. Make your own shifter knob out of wood, and they can do the vaneer for it. this way they can keep the wood pattern/design similar to the rest of your car. Big cost cutter.
  4. I don't know. It may very well be a transmission problem, since you replaced the fluid. For me, I haven't changed the AFT fluid since I bought the car from my dad five years ago, and for an entire 6months it didn't rumble. I'm pulling towards the differential

It's possibly your Head unit. On my LS, the Factory Pioneer was showing signs of wear, similar to yours, but I never fixed it. I ended up replacing the entire Stereo Unit. At this time, I would suggest getting some pricing from United Radio or a Pioneer Remanufacturing company near you. This is just in case we can't answer your question. Sorry
  6. Yes I even edited my last post.
  7. so why did you change up your responses? Actually, in Japan they use both GTE and GTTE. TOyota-Factory uses the GTE designation for the Chaser, Cresta, and the Supra as it's GE Designator. The T in GTE refers to an optional single turbo(TRD) allowing it to produce 280bhp. GTTE refers to the twin Turbos avaible(Toyota Factory) on every Soarer, Aristo, Chaser, Cresta, Supra, and the 88 Denso Supra GT500 car. This information is courtesy from my friend working at Toyota Motor Corp. Japan. Actually, in Japan they use both GTE and GTTE. Even today, the guys in Japan use the GTTE designation instead of calling it jut GTE for the Twin setup. This information is courtesy from my friend working at Toyota Motor Corp. Japan. i guess since your a moderator and all, you can perform all kinds of magic. but anyways, i would like to see actual proof of the sticker that is placed underneath the hood that reads "2JZ-GTTE". so tell me what was the reason for the change up, and like i said, who ever put gtte probably did a typo where everyone and their mom followed. You have the same option, it's called "EDIT". The changes are just in case I didn't get my point across. Apparently I didn't. Also, I wasn't finished with my statement before I clicked on the Submit Button.
  8. that is cheap. My source is coming back with $230, for my 95. I need you VIN. PM me if you're serious.
  9. I know Lextreme has created a Supercharger kit for the V8s. Maybe that;s the first place to start, if you haven't already. Take a look at our Performance Upgrade Thread Pinned in our forum. TwinTurbo: Here's a Webbased link, if you'd like, and I wouldn't exactly dismiss Import Tuner Magazine, since they're an established/published magazine company. They can be sued for wrong information. http://www.venus-auto.com/inventory/toyota/engine.htm

  11. Early 90 Supras, most likely the Mark IIIs came as a GTTE engine. I always thought the GTE was a single turbo block, but the MarkIV's are TT and use the designation of GTE. http://www.importtuner.com/tech/0402it_ppsupra/
  12. SC300_guy_miami: Have you visited our Car care forums, and forum store-link LexusCarCare.com for some of your product needs? Most of the stuff sold there are pretty good. they're kind of expensive but in some cases are really good.
  13. I'm sorry to hear that too. Kind of curious, did you go over a concrete curve before landing on the dirt? I have my doubts if the car can be totalled from the 180 spin, and from what I'm reading you didn't stop suddenly from the high speed, sideways. If I was to guess, something's wrong with your drivetrain or something has come loose. I have my doubts a car can be driven even a block if the chassis was bent; you'd know something doesn't feel right. I agree with the others, wait for the Insurance Guy.
  14. I like those.
  15. same here on the CD Changer. Something I recommend to other users on this forum. If you're serious about it, and nothing else shows up during your initial inspection, take it to Lexus and have them run a Pre-Certification inspection. It costs about $150-300, but it's worth it. Plus you can have them run it through the database, check all the paperwork, and run a CarFax report. Congrats if you buy the car.
  16. Oop, my mistake. dam you, Toyota! Why couldn't you use GTTE instead of GTE for a Twin Turbo designation.
  17. a Few places come to mind. Pepboys and New Lexus Parts Brandywine--since you live in Maryland. I have a retailer I use, but you'd have to go through me.
  18. I think that's the only way to get to it. VMF will be able to get you some more help, since she has a Gen II LS. You can PM her.
  19. Congrats, Big Frank. Welcome to the high mileage club
  20. Hey VMF: how did you get your Dual Beam HIDs to work? did Toyota change the rellay on Gen II?
  21. Let's let Amphora pull the diagnostic code, instead of guessing on what could be the solution. We've all had the Trac Light error on our cars; I still have mine on, but until I pulled the code, didn't know what it truely meant. AutoZone rents for free <_<, interesting!
  22. Ahh! you're having the same problem I've been having for quite sometime. It's whenever the car shifts weight from one side to another, and it sounds like it's rubbing against the tires. At first I thought it was my shocks since my LS sags down so much, but I believe it wouldn't be an issue if we had the air suspension. You can avoid it by not letting the car overshift when you're coming out of a quick turn or sudden lane change. Do it slowly, so that the car shifts to 0degrees instead of -1+. It is possible the U-joint, differential, or the bushings might be the issue since I haven't changed those parts in the past few years. I haven't been able to check out the problem myself because I've been busy, but rest assure, it's not something you should loose sleep over. I've had the problem for about 5years, and nothing major has happened to my car. This spring, I'm going to attempt to isolate the problem. I'll post something then.
  23. yup, that's some good advice. If you don't feel confident purchasing something from these retailers, i can help you get a dealer one, kind of cheap.
  24. do you have a particular listing?
