  1. You know, you can actually pay the $11.00 for the report. Most likely change in registrations, ownerships and so on, but it doesn't hurt to get the full report. Personally, I wouldn't get it from a police auction unless I had $10k saved up somewhere. I would suggest you bring an expert Technician, who can listen and smell problems from the car.
  2. Not much. I know the SVT Focus have them. One of my fellow drivers have them on her Open-wheel. Of course hers' are performance Slicks, so they're really sticky, even more than my Bridgestones.
  3. I'd still take the LS over the 300C. I like the new styling, performance and interior, but it's not designed to compete against the LS430. I believe it's comparing Apples with Oranges. I like the Growl from the 300C, and Mercedes is changing the image of the car, but a Lexus is a Lexus. Craig: Are you thinking about switching brands, or is it just a fling?
  4. Not directly, but I have my eyes on a JICs Bullet Spartam or the Blitz NUR for my LS. I'm going to stay away from the Flowmaster Mufflers, too domestic. In any case, I'm going for the Complete custom pipes setup /w a 2.5-3.0" piping. I'm also going with a Turbo Cat from the Supra. I believe it should work, but when I'm ready to customize that's when I'll tackle the project. If you have a highspeed connection, check this site out. For some reason, I end up listening to it every night. http://www.lexusgonewild.com/norCal_v2/V8exhaustComp.htm
  5. Lexus is a very reliable car, but they're are so expensive. SW: I wouldn't trust COnsumer Reports. They're the ones who said the Audi A4 was Consumers Report--Best Buy in 97. That's what peaked my interest back then. Back in 93, I didn't like the attitude Lexus sales and Service had this attitude, like most of the Lex dealers over here have, arrogance! It me off. That's why I bought my Infiniti. Better customers service. Off Course this is my opinion, and doesn't necessary reflect other consumers. JD Power and Associates I Trust, but I think I saw Audi in the 12th position for 92-94. Correct me if i'm wrong.
  6. Hey VMF: You're gonna have to do something with your picture. Too large. Exhaust tips are readily available at any aftermarket retailer, ie pepboys, AutoZone, Advanced Auto, Online. I'd change the exhaust system. Yes it costs a lot, but they're sound so nice. BTW, you can upgrade your Catalic Converter to a Turbo or Truck Spec Cat to let it breath better, and I think Penn, has the same Inspection testing procedure as New York. I wouldn't be surprised if they lift or pop the hood.
  7. Aren't the 95s supposed to come with either a Nakamichi or a Pioneer? I've never heard of a Lexus with an Alphine.
  8. What do you mean the MR2 didn't beat you? Why do I get the feeling he/she didn't know how to drive that car. :whistles:
  9. Bean: You know you're CRAZY!!! ;) That reminds me Bean; could you find out whether the Soarer came as an AWD? Thanks
  10. Is your checkengine light on, before you went for emissions testing? The EGR is on the Left side of the block, next to the LExus Symbol.
  11. Have you tried asking a locksmith? Some of them have some nifty tools that might do the trick
  12. I've driven the Jag and the SC4 before buying my SC3. Jags are really nice, but I wasn't impressed with the Jag. Plus I had some problems with the Convertable; it kind of blew. If your choices are the Jag vs the SC, I don't think I need to tell you.
  13. How good are they? 13-954: Do me a favour; delete the post that doesn't need to be there. It's distracting Everyone else: Okay, what Coilovers would you guys recommend. If you guys have track-tested the products that would be the best solution. This thread is interesting, and I'm going to Pinn it here. So far I've come across: Teins RA Dampers Teins HA JICs FLTA2 B&G Adjustable Cusco Zero 2 A'Pexi World Sport Damper Tanabe Sustec Pro S-OC Type II Zeal Suspension B6 Also, correct me if some of them don't apply for our SCs
  14. I guess you could say, time will tell. VW is trying to improve the reliability of the Audis. They have come up with the next-generation Auto-shifter, which is really nice. oh, I know about the FX35. My neighbour leased one 6months ago, and every day he drive by, I'm still looking. Even the Ferrari doesn't turn me on like the FX35/45 Diagnostic tools are expensive for all high-end models. Hence the reason why I'm planning on getting the Lexus Diagnostic Reader than the Aftermarket or the Toyota ones. Can you image the thing costs $45k. Even our F-car tools were cheaper.
  15. Mike: Have you started to troubleshoot?
  16. I have to disagree with some of you guys. Audi has changed over the years. My girlfriend and her family owns several Audis for close to a decade, and they really have changed. RS6, S4, TT and S8 are one of the best cars I've driven (better than a Mercedes), and so far the reliability of them are going up. I think VW has improved the reliability of its upper line cars. Also, there is an Audi on C&Ds top ten list. Remember, if it wasn't for Audi and Subaru, selling AWD cars in the US, our markets would be flooded with those beasts known as SUVs, not that it hasn't already. :chairshot: My parents have owned both the LS and the Q45(Cima-AWD) and they loved both of them. True, interior and comfort-levels of the LS are very well put, but Nissan makes some of the best engines out there. They are reliable (G20-9years-no problems), and their latest models are one of the best, maybe not the new M35/45(too-old) and the new Q45(too-bulky). I love the new Gs and FX and even the Is. They are very well designed and well powered. The RL shouldn't be compared to the LS or the Q. The RL is like a GS or the M, without a V8 Option. Plus Acura offers way-to-many FWDs. There's only so much one can do with a FWD.
  17. I'm kind of curious. What's wrong with the two options that are presented in this Thread, ie. Needles and Climate clock? The Ebay kits are quite good, especially since most of them are companies that already refurbish our stock systems. There are instructions on how to remove GEN I Climate/Clock LCDs on this thread.
  18. man, you guys get all the good car. All that we have over here are, 1 viper, 1skyline, 5supras, several hundred low budget vehicles Mitsus-Honda, and several 300zxs, just to name a few. BTW, lets move this discussion to the General Discussions Forum.
  19. Beat me. Have you looked on Ebay?
  20. Are you sure they're not a store brand, like Pepboys has the Futura, and Walmart with Douglas? If they are, then they don't offer Z-rated Tires, something our SCs must have.
  21. Switching to a late 90s US GTE would be the best option. Swtiching to a JDM GTE will be very complicated, and if you live in an emissions state, you'll have to swap the ECU everytime. JPI is correct, expect to pay near $10k for the swap, since you'll have to get the custom drive shaft. I think you should check out the FAQ and Performance Parts Thread pinned in this Forum. You can also talk to our Resident Turbo Experts, Lex Luthor and AWJ.
  22. Ted: I like the rims and for the money I like the price. I'm with Hites on this. I've never heard of these tires. Any links? I like the tire pattern on the image above. Good choice.
  23. I've lived in Upstate, NY, and the streets in Albany and Buffalo are bad. Some of the roads haven't been paved over for 38 year. Both DC and NYC have some really bad roads as well. I'm sure there are road in other places that are worst than what I've been on. BTW Hites, where in Ohio do you live? Also, I think you should call your Big-Wheel trucks friends, "Chicken", and see their reaction. Afterall, what's the point of owning a big-rigg, if you aren't willing to drive it.
  24. same here, don't believe in buying cars from Ebay. You can easily buy a lemon, and each state's lemon laws are different. Here's a thought. Find a car you're interested in. Post something in our general discussion forum, and ask one of us to check it out for you.
  25. VBDenny: I'm surprised you didn't sue the fuel company! You guys are still using your LSs and SCs! I stopped using mine about a month ago, when the fuel prices near me went up to $1.98 for Premium. I think I've mentioned about adding Octane Booster to regular fuel, and it should prevent any fuel injection and ignition problems. Most of these companies claim it doesn't reduce/damage anything, and they're guaranteeing the product. You can always go after the company for any problems that may occur due to this.
