  1. Stupid Lexus dealer! They always try to make you pay the most $ as possible. The bulbs must have a cross reference? At least the Toyota dealer should be able to refence these. I would bring the burnt out bulb(s) to a autoparts store and see if they can find a match.
  2. Have the drive shaft checked to see if it's loose. I had bad vibes at 70mph on my truck and it was a loose drive shaft. It's a simple and cheap fix. Bent rim?
  3. Take a digital pic of your car and post it here please...
  4. I think they're the same? The gen 1 LS400 was from 90-94. I'm sure somebody will correct me...
  5. Can you take a digital picture of your dash and post it here?
  6. Cool, thanks bro. Your TT LS400 is awesome. I would like to do that to mine in the future. I know the whole thing is your design. I read your website. I've actually referred people from here to your place. How's it running? Have you raced anybody with your sleeper? What cars have you beat?
  7. Are you the website owner of lextreme?
  8. Good luck finding a working (lights and all) Lexus cluster at a junk yard. You got lucky Lextreme. All the junk yards around the Seattle area don't have any Lexus parts. Do you have a website address of a junk yard that carries a lot of Lexus stuff? That would be a great resource.
  9. I noticed last night that my car goes about 10mph with my foot off the gas pedal in Drive. The car was fully warmed up too. Is that normal? I really haven't drove my car that much over the last few months since I bought it. Great ride.
  10. My '90 LS400 wasn't always giving me full power at WOT (pedal to the floor). Sometimes it would kick down and give me normal power. Sometimes it would act like it didn't want to shift down. I ran 2-3 tanks of fuel injector cleaner and a tank of C5 octane booster. The problem is now gone. I thought it was my kick down switch under the pedal but it appears to be solved. I think the previous owner before me used regular unleaded gas for the few years they had it? I always use premium in my cars. I believe his wife drove the car most of the time too. They have a few kids so I'm sure it was drove very conservative. I like to get on it when on the freeway. It eats gas when I drive it like that but it's fun accelerating with these tuned Toyota V8's. They have quite a bit of power. Now I need to take off those horrible stock 15" rims/tires and get some 18" rims/tires. I've spent a lot of money lateley so I just have to wait about another month to get them. I think I'm going with the Enkei LM1 18" rims with Kumho Supra tires? To sum it all up, the car is running great now.
  11. Do this at night with your headlights shining on a wall/garage door to see the adjustment. The adjustment is very gradual.
  12. I read somewhere that the Camry struts are the same size and they can be used to replace the worn out LS400 struts. I hear they are much cheaper as well. Probably $25/strut new? You may want to check some junk yards for a set of used Camry struts? Mine are worn out too. I have to put a little piece of wood under the hood to prop mine open. If you're doing extended work, you can use a vice grip to lock one of the struts to keep the hood open safely.
  13. Is it easy disconnect and remove that Motorola phone? Sometimes I accidentally hit the hands free on the steering wheel and it mutes down the stereo. It's kind of annoying.
  14. Yeah, that's a !Removed! salesman tactic. You would be offended by the trade in allowance and he knows that would kill the deal. Here, take a look for yourself> http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.ur?kbb....400&13;LE;A2&&& $3,675 w/120K in fair condition. The dealers don't even want to pay you that. They want to steal the trade. Something like $3,000 probably? I wouldn't deal with that place if this is how it starts. :(
  15. I just had mine replaced a few weeks ago by a local (honest) shop. It's about 4.9 hours in the shop manual to replace. It's at the back of the engine below 2 manifold intakes. You have to take off a lot of stuff at the top of the engine to get in there. Yep, it's a lot of work. I paid about $350 in labor to get it done. I'm glad it's fixed though. I put it off for about a month.
  16. Dirty injectors? Try using some high quality injector/octane booster like C5. I get that stuff at a local performance shop. They don't sell it at Schucks or any of the run of the mill auto part stores. If that doesn't clear it up, you may have to have them removed and cleaned professionally.
  17. Reverse polarity with the wires? I dunno, sounds simple but maybe? Switch the wires to the opposite contact.

  19. Ughhhh.. Don't do it.... I couldn't stand to see a Lexus towing something. Personal prefernce... :(
  20. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay?
  21. Do you mean the whole dash needs to be disconnected to get in there? Thanks...
  22. Excellent fix motjebben....I hope I don't have to do it for awhile though...All of my dash lights are working fine *knock on wood*.... The red colored tip is cool. Don't they help you track the needle during the brighter days? It kind of reminds me of the Acura NSX gauges? Don't they have red tips on the needles? I think my past Nissan 300ZX's had the red tips as well...Nothing is as cool as the Lexus "floating needle" gauges. It's pretty cool when you start your car up at night and look at the needles light up before the foreground dash lights come on. Looks mysterious.....hehe :snoooorrrtttt:
  23. Thanks Sky.... Are there screws or does the panel pop off? I haven't looked too closley. I just got it out of the shop last Friday and now my starter is fixed ($lots-o-money$). I drove the car all weekend. Lots-o-fun... Hehe :P
