  1. WOMEN CAN'T DRIVE! (from my personal experiences...)
  2. The Lexus seems more responsive with a little more power. Maybe this stuff really does work? Hmmmm.... I haven't drove the truck enough yet and I haven't even drove the streetbike.
  3. That's the "kick down switch" VB. It shifts down your automatic tranny when you smash the pedal all the way to the floor. Or the gear heads call it "WOT". Wide Open Throttle.
  4. They came in! I went and looked at my rims after work. They are SWEET! They actually look a lot better than the picture. I am very happy. I'm having them put on in the morning. I'll take pics and post them later. I couldn't get them on tonight bacause they only had 3 of the Kumho tires in stock. They're having the 4th tire shipped from a local store in the morning. Not only do I like the rims. I'm really looking forward to the 18" Kumho tires. The handling is going to improve 10 fold by what I hear. My friend use to have a '91 LS400 and he said that his handling improved a lot after putting on his 18" wheels. Especially compared to the 15" Grandpa/Cressida wheels. You'll notice that Lexus switched to 16" wheels/tires the very next year in '91.
  5. I had my perfect 1995 300ZX with 18" rims, Kenwood DVD with a 6K stereo system stolen out of my "secured" parking garage at my old place last Jan. Seattle is in the top 5 in the nation for stolen vehicles. AUTO THEFT is rampant up in my parts. I can't stand those little Russian pukes that drive around in old Honda Accords and other crappy cars looking for more cars to steal. A lot of these people come down from Canada into the states to commit crimes. It's horrible. I found my car a week and a half later torn up with a seat missing, black spray painted windows from the inside and the electrical system was all screwed up. They put on crappy little black 15" rims/tires that rubbed on the calipers. They sprayed WD40 all over the place to get rid of finger prints. It was totaled. I couldn't bellieve they didn't do any body damage. Yeah, I know what it feels like to have my car stolen too... P.S. I had a top of the line Clifford alarm system as well.
  6. Hehe...Go down the sand dunes with the outdrive up....No, there is a lot of lakes over in eastern Washington. We're going to a resort on the Columbia River named Crescent Bar. The Columbia is one huge river though. It's like a slow moving lake that's hundreds of miles long.
  7. SW03ES, I'll go by my personal expereinces then. In every moving accident (4) that I've been involved in, a woman has been the driver of the vehicle that struck me. I was nice to one of the ladies and she tried to screw me. She didn't want me to call the cops so I didn't and I took her info. I was young and naive, I was only about 19 at the time. She didn't have her insurance card so I wrote down her plate # and info. She wrote down mine as well. She told me her husband would call me the next day. He never did. I tried calling her but it was the wrong #. I had to call the local police station to run her plates to get her real info. I didn't charge hit and run because I just wanted my car fixed. Jeez, I was 19, my car was everything to me. Her husband eventually and reluctantly cut me a check for the damage while complaining. She thought she could get away with it. I bet she didn't even have insurance? It sounds like she has done this before? Who knows? Eve says "eat the apple Adam"....Blah, blah, blah.... I'm sorry but you're not going to like this. WOMEN CAN'T DRIVE! (from my personal experiences...)
  8. http://www.carfax.com/ Single report is $14.99, unlimited for a month is $19.95. I would say that's a pretty good deal when you get to know whay you're buying. If you saw that the car was a salvage or it had a fishy history, wouldn't you be glad that you checked?
  9. I just talked to Discount and my wheels are suppose to be in today via FEDEX. I might get them on the car this evening? If not today, tomorrow... Check this out. I was informed today that Kumho has increased their warranty from 30K to 40k on their ZR rated 18" tires. Wow! That's incredible for a ZR rated tire. Kumho has to be one of the best tire manufacturers now?
  10. I got some BG 44K from a local performance shop today. It was about $46 with tax for 2 cans. Kind of expensive... I really wanted to put this in my old '88 Ford F250 because it idles pretty rough. It seems good under load though. It just seems like there is a lot of buid up on the injectors? I put a full can into the 18 or 20 gallon tank. I'm not sure how big the front tank is? Hopefully it will clear it up and it will idle better and maybe even get better mileage? I'm taking it on a trip in a few weeks to the desert. It's 200 miles each way while towing my ski boat. I'll also have my streetbike in the back. I put 2/3's of the other can in my LS400. How many gallons is the tank in my '90? I read 18, 21, etc... I put the other 1/3 in my Suzuki GSXR750 (5 gallon tank). $46 bucks y'all! It better work!
  11. You don't need a police report to make a claim. Only if there is major damage. They say $500 or more for a cop to even report it. All you need to do is start a claim with her insurance company and get a claim #. Then a adjuster comes out and takes pics and they cut you a check soon after. The insurance company will pay ASAP. They're glad there is no hospital bills. Can you say "my back hurts...". Chiropractor heaven... That's expensive. Fixing your car for $1,000 or so is no biggie.
  12. Ahhh, here it is.... http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...42&st=0&hl=code I have the shop/repair manual for the '91 LS400. Here's what I've found. code 33 = 1> Open in air mix dampner position sensor circiut 2> Open or short in air mix servometer circuit 3> Air mix servometer locked. I can't find 88 yet, but I'll look... BTW, to check your AC system codes: Hold "AUTO" (not "OFF") and the "REC" switch when turning the ignition switch on.
  13. I found what code 33 means and I posted it in a previous thread from about a week ago. I did not start the thread though. It's like a stuck servometer or something? Search the recent threads or search my posts. I got to take off so I don't have time right now. Sorry VB....
  14. Changing the timing belt is preventive maintainence before something bad happens. How would you even know if your timing belt was going bad? Maybe it breaks while your in the middle of a 1,200 mile trip? Then you'll know it went bad. I'm sure it'll be fine at 100K though...
  15. You live down towards Portland, OR. We've had a unusually hot summer this year so I see why you want your A/C. That's a lot of money to put into a used car for repair. Sorry to hear that.
  16. VMF - Don't accept that $500 from her. Open a claim with her insurance company and get everything done right. I had a similiar situation about a month ago in a large parking lot. I parked my Lexus outside of a Boater's World while I went inside with my 6 year old son to get some stuff for my boat. I came back out and some jackass (this was a guy ladies) was parked all the way up on my back bumper. I went back in the store and said very loudly "who owns the Toyota Tacoma truck outside". This guy came up and said "me". I had him come outside and showed him how he was parked on my rear bumper. I asked him why he parked behind me when there was about 4 spaces to his left and right that were WIDE OPEN. He said there were cars there at the time but I know he was lying. I was only in the store for about 20 min's and that many people didn't come in to fill those spaces. Anyway, he gave me his insurance info. He was a really nice guy too. I calmed down after I realised he was very cooperative. I had a few small scratches on my center, rear bumper that I could use a clay stick and wax to buff out. I didn't have a clay stick last Sunday. I need to go get one. The insurance adjuster on the phone kind of bickered with me about it but he had a local adjuster come out. I got a high estimate from a really high end shop. Somehow these guys came up with $1,100. I got another estimate a few days before for $425. You know those guys are crooked. Long story short, the insurance company mailed me a check for $1,100 last week. Uhhh, they were including some preexisting damage from the previous owner. The back, passenger side bumper at the corner has a spider web crack. The previous owner backed into his other car in his garage. All of that money is actually going to my wheels/tires. I didn't think they would send me the whole amount? I didn't expect it. I'm not complaining about that. I also didn't ask for the insurance companie's client to park on my bumper. Am I bad?
  17. Yes, the Bellestars (18 X 8) do fit your car. They're $267/wheel at Discount. The same design as MB Design Ammo (18 X 7.5) are $252/wheel. If you go to larger wheels like the 18" Bellestars that you like, you must get new tires. The 16" tires will not fit your larger wheels as you can imagine. You have to get new 18" tires as well to match your new, larger wheels.
  18. http://www.discounttire.com/dtc/brochure/i...wheelsInter.jsp Discount Tire interactive wheel system.
  19. Probably EPA pressure with a lot of political influence having interest in Texas oil. Bush has something to do with it I bet? The Bush family is huge in oil.
  20. Maybe it's a stuck floater in your tank but I really doubt it? This may sound stupid but whack your tank a few times with the side of your fist. It actually sounds like a dead sending unit. If it's like my truck (F150), the sending unit and the fuel pump are a all-in-one unit in the tank. When my readings first starting going whacky on my fuel gauge, the fuel pump died about 3 months later. Actually both of my fuel pumps (both tanks, front and back) went out about the same time. Weird...
  21. I've been hit 4X in the last 17 years since I've had a driver's license (I just turned 34 a few weeks ago). You guessed it, it was a WOMAN every time. I'm sorry ladies but you just can't drive. Too much attention to everything else but the road. Women shouldn't even be allowed to a use cell phone in a motor vehicle. On average, men are BETTER DRIVERS hands down. That's not a chauvinistic statement but it's a true statement. The only accident I've caused was when I was 19 and I rolled a Suzuki Samaraui up in the woods (Taylor Mtn., Issaquah, WA). Yeah, we were drinking and seeing where the lil' Jeep wanna-be could go. It actually did pretty good in 4X4. I had that '87 Suzuki back in '89. I had 5 people in the rig including myself. It was a soft top and it rolled 2 and a half times. Nobody got hurt. Amazing... It was actually a pretty tough little rig. I drove it out of the woods and drove it around for about a month with the crunched top. Yes, be relentless with the insurance adjuster and don't let the scumball try to take the cheap route. They try every time.
  22. Thursday it looks. Unless they come in later or I can't make it to the shop that day? They could be here Wednesday? Phoenix to Seattle doesn't take too long. They were suppose to be ordered Friday but I found out they ordered them to be shipped out today. I don't think it mattered anyway because I was in there later in the afternoon on Friday. They would of shipped out today either way I think? Who knows... I got to take a pic of my car. I used the Maguire 1 step wax yesterday and the coat looks like a mirror. It got rid of all those swirls from the last crappy wax I put on there. I actually used a wax that I was using on my boat last time. That Maguires stuff is great! I must get some of that carnuba wax too. I should get that spray on in-between wax stuff...
  23. Yes, that's right Rich, ps pump over the alternator. I had that mixed up. Thanks.
