  1. Just remove the plastic guard in the wheel well. If I remember right I went through the wheel well. Just removed acouple of screws and bent it back to get acess. As far as the 194 bulbs for the parking lights, NEO and myself have told you where we got ours at and you can see the pictures of them. Neo's are white with a hint of blue and mine are more of a darker blue than white. Ever though they were called Hyper white.
  2. I would take it back to them and tell them they need to pay for it to be removed by the dealer. So it is done right and the paint doesn’t get damaged. It is their screw up make them pay for it to get fixed. but take pictures first before you take it to get fixed. Just incase
  3. In other words it keeps you Lexus COOLER, CLEANER and FASTER. Everything has a purpose, engineers aren’t stupid and Lexus doesn’t waste money.
  4. A summer tire is designed to feature far superior dry handling and traction with wet performance ranging from acceptable to excellent. Not so good in a light or heavy snow mixture.
  5. Since this is only your 10th post I will assume that you just got this car recently. If the owner before you smoked in the car then the smoke smell is probably in the cabin air filter, headliner, carpet and anything else that is fabric in your car. Changing the cabin air filter is a start but I don’t know how to get rid of it for good. And yes the cabin air filter is behind the glovebox. Here are some home remedies: home remedies ;) OR may be this is the answer!!!!!! :D Good luck and let us know what works! :D
  6. Sorry to here about your luck. It looks like your rim is bent. If that is the case it is not fixable. What kind of rims do you have? Post a picture with all of us out here everywhere, we should be able to find a match or know where you can get one. However I feel your pain bro.:cries: I took a trip to Nashville 3 weeks ago and when I got back the next day I noticed that the rear drivers side rim had a gouge taken out of it. About 1 inch in length with grooves in it right on the lip of the rim, where the rim rolls to the tire lip. It looked like a hot knife had cut through my rim and the rim was made of butter. The only thing that I can think of is that the rim went into a pot-hole and rubbed against the side of the pot-hole and knicked the rim at a high rate of speed to get that clean of a cut and not cut the tire. But since the rim isnt bent I can get mine fixed for about $50. Not to mention that I picked up a rock that cracked the windshield too, bad luck. I should of flown it would have been cheaper in the long run, gas + rim fix + new windshield = :chairshot:
  7. Today I noticed the lens cover on one of my clear side markers is coming unglued from the assembly. This sucks because now I have to remove it and either glue it or get new ones. They are only 10 months old or so. But what do you expect for under $20. The clear lens on my focus have lasted for 4 years. I replaced mine by either going through the front of the wheel well or under the plastic splash guard, I dont remember.
  8. Offset is the distance from the centerline of the wheel to the mounting surface of the wheel. Negative offset is when the back of the bolt pad is closer to the inside of the wheel; when mounting surface is inboard of the rim centerline. (more of the rim and tire tread is sticking out of the fender wells.) Positive offset is when the back of the bolt pad is closer to the street side of the wheel; when the mounting surface is outboard of the rim centerline. (more of the rim and tire tread under the car) Here is a picture that shows it barney style. Tech terms: For example, an 8-inch wide, 3-inch-rear spacing wheel would have a 1-inch negative offset. Conversely, if the same 8-inch wheel had a 5-inch rear spacing, it would then have a 1-inch positive offset. Finally, if the same wheel had a 4-inch rear spacing (which is exactly half its width) then the wheel would have what's known as a "zero offset here is a picture of my rear rim and tires. Offset is +40. Front 19x8.5" +34 offset rear 19x9.5" +40 offset.
  9. Here is the lextasy address http://www.lextasy.com/gs400_led_key_light_1430_prd1.htm but this replacement part is for a 1998-2005. I didnt see one for the 1993-97's.
  10. Cold Cranking Amps is a rating used in the battery industry to define a battery's ability to start an engine in cold temperatures. Not keep it running after it has been started. The rating is the number of amps a new, fully charged battery can deliver at 0° Fahrenheit for 30 seconds, while maintaining a voltage of at least 7.2 volts, for a 12 volt battery. The higher the CCA rating, the greater the starting power of the battery. Once the car is started the CCA have nothing to do with the engine at rough idle. What grade and kind of oil are you using and what was the temp outside when this happened? These may have an impact as well.
  11. Just changed it here is the difference side by side. It took roughly 15 minutes.
  12. Here is the pictures of my hepa cabin air filter. Keep in mind that it is dirty, I am getting ready to change it. I put it in 10 months ago and I live out in the country on a dirt road. I have removed it twice and used a air-compressor to blow it out. I believe that the whole filter cost around $10. And I can make 4 of them out of it.
  13. All three brand new vehicles that I have bought where changed as soon as I got home. Out with the stock and in with full synthetic. I had intentions of keeping all three until they died, but I only have one of the original three now and it has 99K on it. Oil gets changed every 3k miles.
  14. I will second that motion about Germany! Salute
  15. Neo is right I have 275 30ZR 19 in the rear on my 2000 and they are the perfect size. Nice and snug
  16. GOOD point dbgs400, that would be an expensive blow out. nycgs300 you better spend the extra cash and get a z rated tire or better. UNless you dont plan on pushing the GS to the limit.
  17. I made my own cabin air filter out of a HEPA filter for your home, that I bought at HomeDepot. I had to cut it to match but it works great and it was a hell of a lot cheaper. Plus it keeps all of that other sh*t out of the air. Will add picture later
  18. It is no different than any other oil change bro. Just choose a good oil and remove the plug and drain. Just dont forget to replace the dirty oil with fresh clean oil before you start it.
  19. kayexelate, the 194 bulbs are your parking lights. Look at my picture posted here the blue lights are parking lights. These are different then your DRL's. As Neo and I have said before your DRL's are your highbeam bulbs on a lower wattage. So your highbeams (9005) and DRL's (9005) are the same bulb. The parking lights should only come on when your low beams are on. Your DRL's are always on until your headlights turn on. When you turn your highbeams on, your parking lights will turn off and you highbeams turn on because they share the same assembly. I have Silver Stars in my Highbeams, Lowbeams and Fog lights. You can not get away from the yellowish tint of the DRL's because it is a highbeam bulb at 1/2 of the wattage. Low Beam Bulb = 9006 High Beam Bulb = 9005 Fog Light Bulb = 9006 Parking Light Bulb = 194 Abear, I got my parking lights from lextasy on ebay, it was cheaper then buying them from their store. here is their web page lextasy
  20. If you want the "Start Button" just buy the 06 GS.
  21. 87k on my 2000 GS300, nothing then regular maintenance and fluid changes when recomended. Runs like new and the transmission shifts as smooth as can be.
  22. I replaced both of mine in Feb. Only one needed it but I did both. I ordered the parts from the dealer and put them on myself. They came painted. If you have ever changed the oil in your car before then you can do this repair. That lower door trim is held on with 5 screws. The lower plastic outside panel on the door skirt is held on by 5 threaded screws that have a black plastic end on them, they need to be removed in-order to get to the screws that hold on the molding. All you need is a short Phillips head screw driver and a wrench or socket (not sure on size, I think its metric). The trick is ordering the right pieces thru the dealer. It took me two times. Make sure you tell them if the vehicle is two-toned or not. To make it easier on you I will tell you what I ordered: Molding #75736-30172-A1 $30.12 ea Bin screws (5 for each side) #90164-50047 $1.24 ea TOTAL = $72.64 I ordered some retainers and some outer clips but didn’t need them. It took me 30 minutes once I figured out what to do. You may have to push out/bend the outer panel on the door skirt out a little to get to the screws that hold the molding on, but it will pop back in place. If you need anymore info please feel free to ask.
  23. Did you leave your drivers side window down a crack and it rained? Try using a hair dryer on the master switches to dry them out. Or maybe the child lock switch is stuck in the lock position.
