  1. Does anyone know if the land cruiser mufflers are the same part number as the LX470's or are they cross functional? Can i put a Land Cruiser muffler on a LX470?
  2. has anyone ever used a Bosal muffler? I would rather not spend the $300 for the muffler if I dont have to. After all it is just a muffler, right?
  3. Bosal Muffler is this what you are talking about? Or this? Cheap Toyota Parts
  4. I need a new muffler for my LX470. The stock one under the passenger rear seat (the rear muffler) has a small rust hole in it and it stinks and it is rattling too. So I want one that is going to be as quite as the factory one. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance :D
  5. Thanks now I am interested in HIR bulbs. Who out there is using HIR bulbs? Give me some feedback please. I dont really want to spend the money and time trimming the house of the bulb if I am not going to get a better looking and brighter bulb then the HELLA's I already have.
  6. BBPeik, I have the same sound in my '00 LX470. It started about 7 months ago and is still there. Dealer said same thing, now I am not a Certified mechanic, but I have been a Gearhead for some time. I almost thought that mine was coming from the drivetrain/tranny. It is still there today I just dont take off as fast. Does anyone else have this issue?
  7. In the Lexus paint process..... panels do not fade.... Your Lexus has been repainted so where down the line. Bill I dont understand what you are saying Bill? Are you saying that the paint on Lexus panels dont fade? If that is so I dont believe it. There is no difference between the paint on the panels as the paint on the roof. And both of mine are faded. And I dont believe that my Lexus has been repainted I am the second owner and I have seen the whole dealer service record.
  8. So here is my problem today while out in town my wife gets out of the rear passenger side of our 2000 LX 470 and then there is a loud "POP"................... The check to the door has broke free from the door. It looks like someone just ripped the check right out of the door. There is two bolts & nuts that hold the check to inside of the door, behind the door panel, are still bolted to the eye laces that they are suppose to be bolted to. The problem is that eye laces are to longer attached to the door. They are attached to the check which is no longer attached to the door. I need to get the door check out so it doesn't cause any more damage inside of the door. I have removed the two bolts under the door panel and the four plastic screw clips (two on the left and two on the right), and the screw behind the inside door handle. But the door seems like it is stuck on the top of the panel. Do you need a machine to remove and reinstall the door panel? Does the window need to be down in order to remove the door panel? I have a picture of how to remove the front door but couldn't find one of the rear doors. I have pictures that I will post later, just wanted to get this posted ASAP.
  9. $25 per bulb? $50 a pair right? that is the same price as in the store. Or are you talking $25 a per? Can you post the link?
  10. So you just went thru your local dealer? You did not go thru 800 Lexus service number? I will be calling my dealer on Mon
  11. A Marine's Christmas 'Twas the night before Christmas, he lived all alone, In a one bedroom house made of plaster and stone. I had come down the chimney with presents to give, And had to see just who in this home did live. I looked all about, a strange sight I did see, No tinsel, No Presents, Not even a tree. No stocking by the mantle, just boots full of sand. On the wall hung pictures, of a distant land. With Medals and Badges, Awards of all kinds, A sober thought, came to mind. For this house was different, it was dark and dreary, I found the home of a Marine, Once I could see clearly. The Marine lay sleeping, silent, alone, Curled up on the floor, In his one bedroom home. The face was so gentle, The room in such disorder, Not how I pictured, A United States Marine. Was this the hero of whom I'd just read? Curled up on a poncho, The floor for a bed? I realized the families that I saw this night, Owed their lives to these Marines, Who where willing to fight. Soon around the world, children would play, And grownups would celebrate, a bright Christmas day. They enjoyed Freedom, each month of the year, Because of these Marines, like the one lying here. I couldn't help wonder, how many lay alone, On a cold Christmas Eve, In a land Far from home. The very thought, brought a tear to my eye. I dropped to my knees and started to cry. The soldier awakened, and I heard a rough voice, "Santa don't cry, this life is my choice; I fight for Freedom, I don't ask for more, My life is my God, My Country, My Corps." The Marine rolled over, and soon drifted to sleep. I couldn't control it, I continued to weep. I kept watch for hours, So silent and still And we both shivered from the cold night's chill. I didn't want to leave on that cold, dark night, This Guardian of Honor, so willing to fight. Then the Marine rolled over, with a voice soft and pure, Whispered, "Carry on Santa. It's Christmas Day, All is Secure." One look at my watch, and I knew he was right. Merry Christmas my friend, And to all a good night. "Semper Fi" All my brothers and sister in the corps
  12. I usually keep a/c on & it cycles like you said. I take it that no one else is having this problem?
  13. ED. I would jump on it. NicLX470 is right its a steal. I would go to the dealer and have then pull a service history on it. That should tell you what and when everything was done to it. Check for a service history. I bought my LX used from a dealer and it was a one time owner with a perfect service history. That pays off in the long run. As far as gas mileage it isnt going to matter how many mileage its got on it bro its going to get around 15 city/highway. If you dont decided to get it let me know because I would be interested in looking at it. Good Luck!!!!
  14. yea I had the Silver Star Ultras in my low, high and fog lights in my GS. The problem, they only lasted one year and the total cost to replace all of them when they went out.. ................ will you do the math $50 x 3 = $150. Great nights vision (there wasn't a night that 3-4 people wouldn't flash me thinking I had my high beams on) but the cost was to much. I could buy a good HID kit for $350. I found that Hella Xenon bulbs are brighter then the Silver Stars Ultra's. They are both made by the same company Sylvania.
  15. I am not one for the custom paint jobs but this one looks sick! '06 GS in the mother land "Russia"
  16. can anyone vote on the poll? I cant & I dont no what I did wrong?
  17. I am pretty sure that it is but that is a good call and I will make sure that it is. What about the a/c being on? Do you think that could have an effect on it? I always but the a/c on when the windows are foggy and it helps defog them faster.
  18. I think that these are the only years that are having faded paint problems if you know of another year let me know and I will add that year to the poll. And after you vote tell us where your paint is fading at? ie....roof, tailgate, hood........ Post pictures if you have some.
  19. I don't know if this is happening to anyone else but the inside of my windows are icing/frosting over when I am driving. I use to have the same problem with the 2000 GS that I owned with moisture getting on the inside of the windows. They never frosted up but where always foggy. First off I live in Nebraska where it has been anywhere from -30 to 20 over the last couple of weeks. When I am driving down the road all of the windows start to frost over. Even with the defroster on and the rear air on the side windows frost over like crazy. Don't get me wrong me kids love it because they get to draw pictures in the ice with their finger nails. I can't stand it. The front windshield is fine, but the top half does get foggy. Half of the front side windows or good but from 5 o'clock to 11 o'clock they are foggy. But the rear passenger side windows and the third row windows get so frosted that I cant even see out of them. It just seems that there is so much moisture in the air inside of the cab that once it sticks to the window it frosts over because the window is so cold do to the air temp outside. Has anyone else experienced this? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance. Its a 2000 LX470
  20. So I found these headlights bulbs on ebay and thought that it would get rid of the low yellowish look of the day time running lights look on my Lx470. Has anyone ever used these or know anything about them. I email the seller and havent really got a straight answer in regards to my question. Currently I have Hella 9006's in the lowbeams and I dont know if these LED Bulbs are going to be as bright as the Hella's. I live out in the country and need bright headlights form the live stock and deer. Any feed back would be great. Or if you use a different bulb that you like recommend it. ACCstyle Blue LED 9006 bulbs
  21. MVY, tell us how you managed to get your 2000 LX470 painted form the dealer for free. There are many of us with the same problem with the 2000 pigment in the Topaz Gray paint not holding up. What is your secret? How long did it take? Who did you talk too? Where was your paint fading at?
  22. I seriously agree with Jay. We need to look at getting a total head count on how many of us there are the have paint fading issues. I have the same issue with my 2000 LX470 with the paint on the roof mostly. What is the color you ask? You guessed it Topaz Grey. Huge fading issue looks like crap for a $70,000 machine. This is my second Lexus that I have owned and after this one I am not impressed. I read another topic in here about a paint fading problem on a 2002 I believe, and Lexus apinted it for free. I am going to start a topic so we can get a head count.
