  1. Hey all, So.. Due to vandalism, (yeah.. that's right), I need to know where I might be able to get the "LEXUS" script only, at a reasonable price. The dealers up here don't even manufacture them anymore. Any help would be appreciated. If someone has one lying around, or knows where one might be, do a good deed today and let a fellow Lexus owner know. 1998 Gold package "LEXUS" script. Thanks in advance, TEK
  2. I am having the exact same issue. I work at a dealership and no one can seem to find prob. Please advise if you have found out any additional information. TIA ← Nothin' Yet.. over the winter I haven't driven at all.. but it's still a problem I'll be lookin' into this summer.. The dealer is almost 100% that it is related to the Ball Joints, but I don't have the money right away.. I better get it though.. that's nothin' to be played with.. have the folks at the dealership you work for check them out.. Oneluv, TEK
  3. Aha... thanx Monarch.. Well thank you all for your input.. this can be a really great place somedays.. lol.. They are factory.. so I'll have a look at the manual.. and maybe get 'em checked out.. it isn't as close as an inch to the floor.. but it does travel awfully deep.. thanx again, ya'll..
  4. Hey all, I don't really have the money to address it right now, but on my '98 GS3, my brake pedal seems to travel awfully deep when foot pressure is applied.. almost to the floor. I don't know if it's normal on these cars as mine is the first I've owned, and bought resale last year. But this has always sort've interested me.. Lexus techs have been through the car on 4 occasions for multiple checks and what not, and they've never mentioned a problem with it. Is it a worry with no reason? A problem with a fix? Or an adjustment that can be made somehow, even by me? Thanks in advance, TEK
  5. The M looks better on paper than the GS.. I don't know what I would do right now.. I got a couple more years on my GS... so I don't have to make that move yet.. but really?? like many have said... it all comes down to the drive, the dealership and their willingness to extend themselves, and str8 out passion.. you'll choose between them wisely once yer really in that driver's seat and getting a feel for both.. Congrats on a great choice, tho!!! They're both beauties..
  6. Soooo.... Replacement is the only option, yeah?? I mean.. the damn thing's only hangin' off the corner, so spendin' more than 100.00 Canadian to get it fully replaced just sounds like madness.. no other fixes, boardies?? thx,
  7. Hey ya'll, Any recommendations for the BEST possible way to reapply stripping around the bottom of our GS doors..? One of mine is slightly cornering away on the driver door. Thanks for your input and ideas, TEK
  8. I'd pick the second set if those were my only choice B) ← co-signed..
  9. sounds aiight to me.. But if ya hear any front side rattling anytime soon, check the ball joints for play.. that's what I'm dealin' wit right now at the same mileage.. arrghhh..
  10. I couldn't agree more tek! :D B) I have been trying to explaint to folks how good the Goodyear Triple Tread tires are in all weather conditions (including snow & ice)...... & especially on a RWD vehicle to boot! :whistles: The good thing about it too is they come in my size & are H speed rated for my 01 ES when the time comes........I still like my Toyo's to be sure, but these new ones from GY are just awesome! ;) ← Good to hear, Lex.. Looks like we both made a good choice.. ;) I was totally going performance, and then a set of winters, but my boy showed me the ratings these all seasons were getting, so I hopped on board and am now a firm supporter for anyone using these for sure-footed, all season traction.
  11. I'm in Toronto, Canada. That would nearly make me an expert on the subject. This is my first Lexus Winter. The GS was testy with the old tires on the snow, but once I purchased a Great new All-Season from Goodyear: the TripleTred Assurance to be exact, it runs through the snow like it ain't nothing. Having driven SUV's all my life, I was concerned, but with good tires, attention to the road, and confident but sure driving, you will not have a problem in the snow with these tires. Now I look forward to the snow, if that's at all possible!! TEK
  12. OMG.... :chairshot: I'm gonna pass out.. I thought the first response was too much, and now... the finale.. your killin' me ovah here!!!
  13. I wish I had a prize for ya, but I got nada.. nothin' more than my thanks. I'm a lil' embarassed to admit that it was simply a loose positive connector on the battery that needed tightening to re-secure. Cheers
  14. Hey family, So.. It's a lil' cold.. not the worst day of the winter so far.. but still.. thought I'd mention it. Anyway, Mom takes the car to the store. Starts fine. Gets there fine. Does a lil' morning shopping which is her customary journey each day. It's only a block away. She comes back to start it up, and nothing. She walks back, a lil' panic-y, and I go have a look. I put my key in.. and nothing.. not a click, not a noise, not a pulse.. Even the remote key Lock/Unlock won't work. I end up calling a tow truck. This is all way to early for my blood by the way. 45 minutes later, I'm waiting for the tow truck, and I'm looking at the car like.."you piece of.." And I try the remote to unlock. The car beeps. Huh???? Say worrrdd?????? So I jump in, start it up like nothing's happened, and cancel the tow.. It's been fine for the day.. What the????? Any ideas????? Ever heard of that before????? I feel compelled to mention, the clock lost the 45 minutes while it was out, and my presets (radio stations, sound controls) have all gone back to factory. Gimme your feedback, gang... Thanks in advance, TEK
  15. I did a search.. Couldn't find much, but I have a similar problem. Rattle up front on the passenger side. Even over the slightest bump/crack in the road. Dealer can't find but think it might be the ball joints, since there's some play there. We'll see.. I'm looking to get those replaced.. Any hookups for deals on Upper Ball joints would be greatly appreciated in the next few days. Otherwise, my guy said he would get some with a dealer discount. I'll post my findings if this fixes the problem.
