  1. Synthetic oil is difinitely they way to go if you plan on having your car around for awhile. It will pay off in the long run. I run full synthetic oil in every vehicle that I own. Full synthetic oil, brake fluid, pwr steering fluid, trany fluid ect......... How cold was it outside when you started your car up? Did you let it warn up before you drove it? Letting your fluids in your Lexus warm up for 5 minutes or so is great for your engine before you drive it especially in the winter, if you have the time to do it. If not you should get ready 5 minutes earlier your car will love you for it. Or get a remote starter, so you can start it from the convenience of your home with out even going outside in the cold.
  2. Here is a picture of the pervious wheels/tires. The low profile tires are a rougher ride but not rough enough to out weight the compliments I get on the rims. As far as two piece wheels here is what I mean. There is a good variety of ways of constructing wheels. Most alloy wheels are made in either one, two or three piece construction types. One piece is just what it says, a wheel made in a mold as a single piece. Two piece wheels are made of two separate pieces (center and barrel) that are usually welded or bolted together. Three piece wheels are made of three separate pieces. They have a center, and inside rim half, and an outside rim half. They are bolted together using the highest quality fasteners. No shaking above 60mph and I have had them higher too. :D As far as larger slotted rotors and painted calipers they are next on list, right in front of the twin-turbo's this summer. As far as the suspension it is stock.
  3. Here is a picture of my old 17 inch Lexus rims on my 00' GS300, they had Wynstar/Exocet 235/45ZR17's on them when I bought it. The tires didnt produce a lot of road noise and handled good too. I have no complaints with them. I didnt use them in the winter though, I have another set of wheels and tire for the winter. Never heard of them before, but they looked good and arent very expensive.
  4. 22's are to big. I have 19's on my GS300 with 30/35 series tires and they are perfect. Where are those pictures?
  5. I considered a 530 before I bought my 00 GS300. In fact it was between the two. Wife wanted the 530, but the GS300 is a better looking car and is a lot better ride then the 530 in my opion. Go for the GS300 you wont be disapointed. I am not and going to test drive a 06 on thursday. :D
  6. ColinBarber, do you remember the company who you went through in the U.K.? If so do you still have the contact info for them?
  7. The off set is +34 in the front and +40 in the rear.
  8. Thanks Turbo I owe ya! But now how due you know if you have dicharge lamps or not?
  9. No one likes my new rims, this post has been viewed 70 times and not one reply :cries: I will try to fix the pictures tonight.
  10. Great idea on the clear rock guard Turbo! $150 bucks, Who said that? The dealer want $182.91 for the drivers side and $194.73 for the passenger side. Thats $377.64 total for both sides. And the question stilll remains "Why is there a $11.82 difference between the two sides?" My cousin has a buddy who works at a Lexus dealer ;) I am tring to get a hook up! Anyone know of anywhere else to buy them except the dealer? Someone else has to reproduce them.
  11. SilveStar bulbs are 60/55 watt, not enough to melt lens. It must of been a rock, I hate gravel. Both fog lights have holes/chips with in a two week period of each other.
  12. VOLK RACING 19's just got these two piece Forged Aluminum 19 inch VolkRacing rims and tires put on the other day. Front RIMS: 8.5 inch Aluminum SF-Challenge VolkRacing rim and Yokohama 245/35ZR19 93Y tire. Back RIMS: 9.5 inch Aluminum SF-Challenge Volk Racing rim and Yokohama 275/30ZR19 96Y tire. Sorry I cant upload a picture, if keeps on saying that the file is to large. How can I get more global attachment space? I had to delete all the other pics I have on this forum to have enough space to post this. Do you always have to due that? why is the picture so small and why is there so more white (dead space) this is very frustrating to me!!!!!!!! Sorry about the pictures guy I guess I dont know what I am doing "Rookie"
  13. I am a rookie so, you have to take barney steps with me, who is LLS?
  14. Here is a picture of the gauges at night w/o a flash. As you can see the speedo gauge is quite dimmer than the RPM & Fuel/Temp gauges. This may be normal though, was is everone's opinion?
  15. I will take a picture of them at night tonight. Maybe it is just my eyes, because the RPM gauge and the Fuel/Temp gauges on either side of the Speedo dont seem to be dimmer at all. As you can see in the pic, the speedo is lite-up but it just seems that it was quite abit brighter before. So I am sorry if I gave the wrong impression about the CCF being burned out. If there is only two CCF's on either side of the speedo gauge then maybe there is no problem at all. GuyTelefunken said "Sidenote: I have noticed (on my 1998 and others) the center speedometer illumination seems to be less bright (approx. 10% I.M.H.O.) than the left or right side. I am not sure if this is by design or just something that happens to this particular cluster."
  16. Thats what I am looking for. Are those on your ride Neo? Are those on a Aristo or GS? What is JDM? Japaness Digitmon? HA HA Help me out here Neo, I am just a rookie here. I am more familiar with Classic Mustang part dealers. That is the whole new mirror right, not just a cover?
  17. They are white stock guages. So let me get this right, since there are no bulbs, if the cold cathode fluorescent lighting system went bad wouldnt the left or the right side of the gauges be dimmer too. I mean since there are two parts of the CCF that illuminate the whole dash gauges if the center cluster, where the speedometer is, went bad (or got dimmer) wouldnt that affect one of the other sides as well. Since the center cluster gets its light from the left and right CCF? Maybe I have confused my self. I hope that this makes since.
  18. Maybe the guys at American-Stitches are color blind? ha ha ha ha Thanks for the info on the woodgrain kit MailManX, I can see the difference. Sherwood Dash is the company that I think I would go with as well. Did the kit come with the side pieces that go on the side of the center console were the shifter is and side pieces for the door?
  19. I think one of the bulbs in my 2000 GS300 speedomoter cluster burned out :cries: . One day the light wasnt very bright, and it is considerably dimmer than the other two clusters on each side. Has anyone ever had to have these changed before? I am trying to find out what I am getting myself into before I dig my own hole. I would like to do it myself but I need some help first.
  20. good idea Cruznroadking, I am orginal for Redding, California. But I would rather have new lens then used, however I would rather pay for used ones. Does anyone know, can you just replace the fog light lens on a 00' GS. They gotta web address? Does anyone know if any Toyota foglights would work, I gotta sister that works at a Toyota dealer in Northern CA.
  21. I would send the wheel back to the !Removed! *BLEEP*s and make them fix both they leather color and the wood grain color. There is no excuse for not being able to match the leather or the wood color if you sent the shift knob with it. Do it for your wife, if not for me so if I (or anyone else) ever send them some work to do they dont screw it up. I'm not telling you what to do MailManX but I would call them and talk to someone higher up the food chain then the person who answers the phone, like a GM. Everyone has a Boss. Then tell them how disapointed you guys are and that you want it fix at their expense shipping included. The last thing they want is a disapointed customer who gives them a bad name because word of mouth travels fast. I tell you with your experence, I wont send anything to them. By the way I like the wood grain, was it a Kit? Did you install it your self, and if so was it hard? In my 00' GS300 the only thing that is wood grain is the sides of the center console and a stripe on the door panels. I have seen the kits, but I am not to thrilled about the 3M tape to install them.
  22. But wait, on the box and on Sylvania's web site it says that their SilverStar bulbs or any of the bulbs are D.O.T. approved and are safe for on road use. Unlike some other companies that state that their bulbs are for offroad use only. These are not D.O.T. aproved and my melt your wiring harness. I think that the hole had to come from a rock hitting the fog light. Now the question remains, where to get a replacement lens from?
