  1. The airbag warning light should NEVER come on unless there is a fault in your vehicle's air bag system (supplemental restraint system or SRS). Like the engine computer and ABS computer, the air bag control module runs a self-check every time the vehicle is driven. If it finds a fault in a crash sensor, one of the air bag modules, the wiring or itself, it will set a code, turn on the warning light and disable itself. You can drive the vehicle but the air bag(s) will NOT deploy should you be involved in an accident. You should have the problem diagnosed and repaired at your dealer........they have the proper test equipment which is necessary to determine the problem.
  2. A Lexus dealer will NOT do this, but possibly a shop that does interior/exterior customizing.
  3. You guys should watch this, and turn up the sound> http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting
  4. There is no audible difference with the Monster cable, but there is a BIG difference in the price. :)
  5. The smell of gasoline is caused by the spark plug failing to ignite the fuel in the cylinder that has coolant leaking in.
  6. Yup........Most likely it's a partially blown head gasket which is allowing coolant to be drawn into the combustion chamber. The engine trembling was caused by a fouled spark plug due to the coolant.

  8. Does the LS460 offer this option?
  9. Installing these strips is fairly easy since they're held on to the body with a two sided adhesive(no drilling holes), but I suggest it's done by people that know how to line up these strips accurately, otherwise they'll look crappy!! Personally, I opted to not put on these strips because, 1- I like the new slab sided look without the strips, and 2- They really don't afford that much more protection from door dings.
  10. No knocking whatsoever!
  11. I disagree 100% on the above statements, since I've owned 4 ES's since 1991 and checked the gas mileage using both 87 octane, or 91-93 octanes. There was NO difference in the gas mileage, nor was there any harm done to any of these engines over a period of about 9 years of using 87 octane fuel. Here's a page taken right out of the 2007 ES350 Owners Manual.
  12. OK.......Here is my Car of the Month.
  13. I remember when you first bought your ES..........you came over to my house, and I heard the ticking. I mentioned at that time it sounded like some of your valve lifters needed adjustment or replacement. I'm surprised that it's been about 3 years already! Like you mentioned, you either have to live with the ticking or spend big bucks to have this engine work done. :cries:
  14. Did you check the fuses! If you have the Owners Manual it shows the fuse layout.
  15. I don't understand what you mean by that? Do you mean the clock stopped working, and the power mirrors don't work anymore?
  16. I purchased my ES350 the first week of May, 2006 and have about 6000 miles on the odometer. The reason for such low mileage is because I have other cars in my stable. This car has always had a tire pressure of 30psi, and I haven't noticed any tire noise, road noise or unbalance at any speed. The car came equipped with Michelin tires. They're excellent! The only problem I had was that after the 5000 mile maintenance the dealer rotated the tires, and after that the car had a slight pull to the left......it was absolutely perfect before. I than brought the car back to the dealer and had them put the tires back to the original position, and once again the car did not have any pulling. So, what do I do now? :whistles:
  17. I would change that to: SOME decisions about the operation of the vehicle should be made by the owner, not the manufacturer.
  18. Follow the above link in my post and register your car. You can than view the Owners Manual in a pdf format.
  19. Register your car here> https://auth.owners.lexus.com/lexusowners/a...2fssl%2fWelcome Once you register they'll send you an Owners Manual FREE!! Or you can view the Owners Manual in pdf format on their website. Good luck, and welcome to the club. :)
  20. Did you try looking in your glove compartment......There's a lockout button for your trunk release in there. Maybe somebody inadvertently pushed it.
  21. OK......I went out to my car, with camera in hand and took a picture of the underside of my dashboard. I hope this proves once and for all that this button is in your car also. :chairshot: Bend down and stick your head under the dashboard and you'll see it!!
  22. Well, the build date on my ES350 is March, 2006, and bought it the first week in May, 2006......I guess you would call my car early! <_< What's your build date? Did you look in your Owners Manual, or called Lexus Service to find out how to adjust this tire monitor? BTW: MY above illustration was taken right out of the Owners Manual, so how do you explain that?
  23. I was considering a pine air freshener.
  24. Maybe this chart will solve the mystery.
  25. That's great, but it still doesn't solve the mystery of the missing reset button.
