  1. Did they show you documentation of the TSIB expiring on December 8th and that it has been updated to cover only squeaks? Their story sounds like total "BS" and that they want to make you think they were doing you a favor. I got that same vibe, and just didn't want to push the issue. Even if it expired, they were still complacent because I was there in August and they "elected" not to tell me. He did show me that it was obsolete as of Dec 8th, and showed me the new TSIB number that the update was on.
  2. Guys, much thanks for the pointers. They are much appreciated. You guys saved me quite a bit of time and money. Apparently, the TSIB expired on December 8th, but has been updated to cover only squeaks, and not premature wear. They fixed it anyway under a "goodwill" gesture, since my wife got her RX from them a few weeks ago. All in all they are a good dealership, but when I inquired why letters were not sent out, the reply was "it's a dealer issue, and not a recall." I found that funny, since I serviced the car in August, and was not informed of any such development. I guess the "stealership" reference is not completely unfounded.... LOL Thanks again, and keep doing what you do...
  3. Hi Folks, I just took my 2007 ES350 in for the regular 5000 mile service. The service manager calls me and tells me 2 things: The mechanic noticed scuff marks on my rims and wants to work on the alignment for $170. I have never known the correlation between the scuff marks and alignment(very weird). I informed him that I moved from Chicago to Southern California, and those scuff marks (curb rash) is from parking close to curbs. I am getting kinda nervous about this dealership. Secondly the said my rear brakes are at 25%(2.5mm) and need replacing. My car has 27000 miles and I don't drive that aggressively enough for the rear brakes to be almost completely gone at 27000 miles. Of course, the warranty for brakes is 25000 so I am SOL. The cost is $330 to replace them. I really don't feel like paying that in addition to the $135 I am paying for the 25000 service( the car has 27000 miles). Everything is fine otherwise. I have heard about some TSIB issues in this forum, and want to know if I can call corporate for some restitution for these sub-quality brakes. On the other hand, I am checking with Big 'O Tires tomorrow, to see if it'll be way cheaper. Does anybody have any experience with them, and do they replace with good, and durable brakes? I checked online and I can find rear Akenodo brake set for $63.95. If I choose that option, I'd just find a good shop to replace them for me. Is that a good brand? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I've heard that it's not too uncommon to have the rear brakes wear out first. Is that true? Thanks!!
  4. Fully functional, With Mark Levinson dvd/cd player, Rear view camera and bluetooth, Custom made wiring harness to tie it all together. Nowhere else will you find this setup. If your serious leave your email address. I have an 07 es 350. Do you still have the OEM navigation? I am very interested. Yes, I have a few navs left. PM me or EM. I just sent you a PM. Please let me know if you got it. Thanks!

  6. I read up on it and it seems to be quite a common problem. The 2 front doors, as well as behind the dashboard are notorious for creaks in cold weather. It happens only in really bad bumps so the ride is still unbelievably smooth. These symptoms are completely absent in warm weather. Mine seems to be going away somewhat. Sometimes it happens, sometimes not. Anyway, instead of wasting time at the dealers', I'll just watch and see what happens.
  7. Hi folks! Just got the 10,000 mile check up done and everything's good. The dealer did a great job with detailing the car afterwards as well. My only complaint is this rattle coming from the driver's door. The cabin is super quiet, so I know it was not there before. Granted we're in the 30's here(temperature), but I don't expect the door to rattle after servicing, especially when it wasn't there before. You hear the rattle when you close the door and when you go over really bad bumps. It might seem trivial, but I find it quite annoying. It sounds like the wood is vibrating or something. I have noticed a milder version of the same door issue in the front passenger's side. My question is whether there's a quick fix, or if I have to go back to the dealer. It's really quite a drive out there, and I'd prefer not to go there, if I don't have to. It could end up being one of those things that just disappear(or not). The independent suspension and the gas-filled shocks provide such an unbelievably smooth ride, I don't want rattles to spoil it for me....
  8. If it kinda sounds like the diesel powered cars of the 90's, I think it's perfectly normal. You should listen to the sound of Audis when they start in the morning!
  9. This might sound trivial, but when I accelerate quickly after stopping I hear a thump in the trunk. It's not really loud, but you can hear it when the radio is off. It happens during sudden take-offs and sudden stops. There's nothing in the trunk that could be making that noise, and the spare tyre is secure. I am going to mention it at my next service, but I wanted to know if anybody's noticed anything similar, so I can save time by pinpointing exactly what it is. It sounds like something relatively heavy is moving around in the trunk lid or something... That having been said, it's a beautiful car. I love it!! I am not a big fan of how it surges (downshifts when you slow down sometimes). There are times when you feel it moving without a corresponding increase of pressure on the gas pedal(when you slow down). I am getting used to it, although I feel like Lexus can overcome this phenomenon. It kinda seems like it has a mind of its own sometimes. I used to drive an '07 3.5 SL Altima with CVT before the Lexus, and I am thinking maybe the CVT spoilt me a bit. The upshifts are perfect, it's just that surge that happens when downshifting sometimes, when you apply the brake and take your foot of the brake intermittently. Thanks!!

    Key Fob

I don't have it in either place(at least I haven't seen it), so I take it the kit needs to be installed. What's a good estimate for installation? Also, are there any nice navigation hook-ups to take a look at? Pictures would be great. Thanks!
  11. I am usually good at figuring things out, but I need a pointer. I have a 2007 ES 350. There's an AM/SAT button that doesn't switch to SAT even when I press it for a few seconds. I had XM in my previous ride, but had to cancel the subscription because I lost the ride. Now that I want to re-activate the account, I can't get it to work. Is it necessary to have the dealer activate it somehow? Secondly, since I'm the car's second owner, the second key fob somehow never made it to me. I have called the dealer and was quoted $344 for a new one. I'll get it if I absolutely have to, but if I can save some money, that'll be nice. It's quite pricey. Any idea about prices in your area? I've seen a couple on ebay ($150) that could probably be programmed at my dealers', but the mechanical key has to be replaced. Thanks!
  12. Hi Guys, Just got a sleek 2007 ES 350 with about 9K on it. Man, what a car! Had the '07 V6 Altima before, and lost it in a tornado. This car is the Altima and more. I love it! The wood and ventilated seats are really cool. Unfortunately, it's missing the owners manual. Can anybody help with a PDF format? Thanks.
