  1. Hi Jong and welcome. For a quick, and informed answer to your question, contact a Lexus dealer. They can also tell you about prices. Sewell Lexus in Dallas is a Large Lexus dealer and has in the past offered a good discount to members of our Club. Go to Sewellparts.com. Paul
  2. Hi there, Check out these listings for some ideas on where to start. Paul http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/search/?type=all&q=gs300+exhaust
  3. When in 1989, Lexus introduced it's first car with the model named LS, and with that automotive history was about to be changed forever. An example is the subject sedan with 350,000 mile on it. The current upheavals being considered are Lexus being let to fully market it's products. To me it's not clear how many units Lexus wants to sell. Also, where do they have enough room to manufacture so many cars. Right now, the ES takes over a lot of the Japan facility. However, with the new addition of the Kentucky facility for USA sales. Paul
  4. I had to read this twice before I could believe what I was reading. At first glance, the auto is pretty darn good looking, but the concept markets are likely not to see much difference. For years, the RX has held the number one position as Lexus number one selling car.. Where is the niche for the ES Sport? I think it's going to be fun to follow what Lexus does and the decision made based upon the US past love affair with the station wagon. Just speaking for myself, I think the next 5 years are going to be the most important growth years for alternative fuels and lighter, more compact cars. If that is true, then this ES SW might find a home. Paul...........What do you think about this new idea?? https://lexusenthusiast.com/2016/05/23/rendered-the-lexus-es-sportcross-wagon/

  6. Hi Steve and welcome to the North American LOC. It's great to have someone from another Club to chat with. Your LS is in beautiful condition. The only problem I can see is you've got the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car! Paul
  7. Hi Francis, I haven't had any experience with them......wait and see who else might chime in here. Paul
  8. Hi Ruth and welcome. I have an ES 350-2013. The 2016 and 2013 are the same in instrument, placement and dash board glass. I haven't any problems. Can you be a little more specific? Is the glare there all the time regardless of time of day? Is there one particular spot on the dash that gives you the trouble? Is there a spot on the glass that looks wavy or distorted? Come back and let us know what you think. Paul
  9. Here is a site that makes permanent stick on patches and can be customized as well. Paul http://www.customizedstickers.com/Permanent-Adhesive-Stickers.html
  10. I don't know what it's called, but the adheshive used here in Iowa on the license renewal sticker is almost cannon proof. The sticky little patch has to go through sub-zero temperatures, 100'f degree temperatures and rain, mud, road salt and on and on. Regardless the circumstances, It would solve your stick-on problem.. besides trying to Google the name of the adhesive, the next problem would be getting the logo/badge off when the time came around. Paul
  11. Hi Kevin and welcome. I have a 2013 RX 350. In the owners manual, it describes the basic functions and operating choices. Your manual probably doesn't provide a "If, then do this." solution. As you drive the system monitors the load on all four tires and is able to automatically transfer more power to the rear wheels. or continue to monitor the traction condition. Also, the all wheel system can be locked in place to provide uninterrupted all wheel drive monitoring. It is unclear to me if your light is showing that your all wheel drive is in the lock mode. I 'm not sure if there is any thing that would prevent you from driving until you can get to your dealer. The best bet is to call the dealer, explain your situation and see what they have to say. You may have a dealer that is open on Saturdays Come back and let us know what you find out. Paul
  12. I was out and about today and while out I stopped into my Lexus dealer. They offered some information that may flush out some helpful details. In terms of using a USP portal to upload the new maps, the update comes as a thumb drive. It takes 1 hour to 1 and a quarter hours to do the upload. The process is not fool proof. Sometimes the new software burps and it has to be done all over again. Updates come out in November. So it would make sense to wait to do your update in November of this year. Also, the price for the thumb drive is $80.00 and the labor is $169.00. This used to be the promotional price now and then, now Lexus has made this price the permanent price. Paul
  13. Thanks Jim for correcting my errors re: the nav update. In my recollection this topic has always been one that changes from update to update. A little like my 2007 Volvo S80. The DVD disc was in the trunk, and if you didn't know that you went nuts trying to figure out where the update DVD went. You always share your expertise generously and accurately. Thanks for being a highly regarded member. Paul
  14. Hi Lenny and welcome. Your question is pretty common but the answers seem to be different with each manufacturer. In the GPS early days, Lexus did their updates by DVD. You could only get that disc from Lexus/dealer. Now, Lexus uses a direct satellite download to your navigation system. In some cases you may not be able to update this way because I think Lexus started this download function in 2013. So any nav unit installed in your car if you have a 2012 or older. There seems to be several ways/places to buy the software. E-bay, is a good place to look and local audio and GPS sellers may be able to find it from one of there vendors. Also, just Google for Lexus navigation updates. Below is a link to our data library with several entries. Yes, there are some old entries but it was easier to give you the whole string then trying to sort the entire topic. There will probably be more folks chime in with more ideas. Paul http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/search/?&q=navigation%20map%20upgrade&type=forums_topic
  15. Hi Martin, It looks like you've done much of the usual recommended maintenance. I'm like you in that I wonder just how accurate the monitor read outs are. But one thing I have come across once and a while, is the condition of the catalytic converters. Some folks have had their CATs become packed to the point it's a wonder they don't catch on fire. I real'y don't have a magic answer for you but other members will chime in with some more information. Outside of the car world, you usually find that as things age they are not as help full as they were when they were new. For example, how well does your Fondue pot work? LOL Paul
  16. Variable valve timing and 7000 plus tach readings give you a lot of "go fast" room. https://lexusenthusiast.com/2016/05/02/lexus-gs-f-review-from-evo-magazine/ Does this new GS350-F interest you? Paul
  17. This article introduces and describes the new LC coming out this year. It has the stiffness, excellent steering response of the LFA and exceptional low end power for getting you off the line while the other car is still trying to over come it's inertia..The LC is meant for one market. Those owners who respect precision, handling, amazing speed and beautiful styling. andhandlihttps://lexusenthusiast.com/2016/04/28/interview-lexus-lc-chief-engineer-koji-sato-discusses-new-performance-technology/ Paul
  18. Here is a photo gallery of the new 2017 IS & IS F. The modification of the original styling just improves the "go fast" appeal of this great sports car. If you have and IS or are interested in one, this is a great tool to get a feel for how it fits your taste. What is your opinion? What a year this has been!!! It seems like every month there is a new award to Lexus for reliability, and overall service support. The most important thing is what our owners/ drivers think. Do you agree with the survey? Based upon Your experience, how would you rank you Lexus??? Paul
  21. A totally new loof for the new RC. Paul https://lexusenthusiast.com/2016/04/21/sponsor-lexus-rc-f-sport-on-20-inch-vossen-vf-6-wheels/
  22. Hi Joseph and welcome to the Club. I am not a fan of extended warranties. A new 2016 RX is one of the most popular and reliable models Lexus makes. In fact, both J D Powers and Consumer Reports rate Lexus as the most reliable car brand. The RX comes with a 4 year, 40,000 mile warranty. This is a "bumper to bumper" plan. There are items that are offered with the plan that are not in the factory warranty. It also extends your "worry free" position and that is sometimes when a extended warranty can help protect your investment. On the other hand, extended warranties are major profit items for dealers. According to information I've seen, the extended warranty can give the dealer as much as 50%.profit. Regardless of what model I owned , I have never had a problem that cost more than the cost of the warranty. My advice would be to by-pass the extended warranty. Paul
