  1. Hi Dena and welcome, This is a new one. I've never heard of this problem before. This is just a way out there idea, but since the beep seems to start while the car is under a load maybe it might be linked to knocking using low octane gas. Like I said just an uneducated guess. Paul
  2. Talk about lean and mean!!! I like this style more than the LFA. https://lexusenthusiast.com/2017/01/19/lexus-rc-f-gt3-the-road-to-24-hours-of-daytona/
  3. Hi Sandy, I don't think anyone mentioned a transmission fluid change. In the past, dealers have suggested a change of transmission fluid around at 90,000 miles and higher. Just from memory I think it ran at over $$1,000. The strange thing about this is the debate over should you have the fluid changed. It seems that most members say NOT to let them do the change. The reason stems around possible problems after the change is done Like many things if its running fine draining the fluid and flushing is possible to dislodge fine particles that have built up with time and wear. All of the fine particles come loose and there is no way to reverse the problem. I would suggest posting both Lenore and Jim (Darth Vader Helmet) They can give you better advice than I. Paul
  4. I agree with both o f you. Given the profile of Lexus buyers Its hard to see how a sub-compact could be a success. Are there other luxury brands that try to compete with a Mini Cooper? On the other hand, convertibles draw a base with higher income and Lexus could give Mercedes a run for their money. Paul What do the rest of our members think?
  5. Lexus General Manager for North America talked this week about 2 models needed for Lexus to continue increasing market share. One style would be a sub-compact. The other is a 3 row similar to the RX. It's always good to see Lexus keeping the name moving forward. What I like about it is the steady value our cars maintain when it's time to sell or trade-in. Paul What are your ideas? https://lexusenthusiast.com/2017/01/17/lexus-executive-lineup-needs-subcompact-crossover-three-row-crossover
  6. https://lexusenthusiast.com/2017/01/12/the-lexus-sport-yacht-concept-debuts-in-miami-beach/ I had no ides this product was coming, or even that a yacht was in research. The lines of the hull create a boat that looks like it could move at warp speed. What do you think about this new venture??? Paul
  7. Lexus Yachts-By land or by Sea!!! The debut of the Lexus luxury line of Yacht. This Lexus line of yachts are made with two V8 engines. The ultra modern look of of the craft makes it look like it's doing a 100' while it's standing still. I think this "go fast" model will be the ultimate accessory to your luxury Lexus car. Paul https://mail.aol.com/webmail-std/en-us/suite
  8. Hi Dyllonwa and welcome to the club, It's not very often but now and then this problem eats the CD's and it is impossible to eject the disc without having to take the head unit (media player) out and fix the problem. I have not heard of any way to make this repair by sticking in a coat hanger ( lol,) or disconnecting the negative side of the battery to try and reset the system. I think you can take your GX to a good car audio store to take it out and repair. This would probably save you a lot of money instead of going to your dealer. Write back and let us know how your doing. Paul
  9. The one thing I hear the most of is the higher amount of repairs needed for the BMW. Paul
  10. Hi Victor, Good question. I don't think I've ever heard any thing about that. You might try the official Toyota, Lexus and Scion web site. It contains all of the technical data for all three brands. Very thorough. Paul
  11. I know what you mean Trevor. My third has been a charm. This one has been great for 33 years. Paul
  12. Hi Trevor. good to hear from you! Hi Kurt and welcome to the LOC. I know almost nothing about your issue, but that hasn't stopped me before. Many moons ago, I recall a posting regarding a similar "sound" mystery. I can't find the archived post, but the problem was in the the steering wheel column. It appeared that the engineers ran out of space under the hood so they just stuck the wiring in a open place. Also, do the TPM and ABS share the same frequency Paul Don't worry about hurting my feelings,...i had them removed when I took this job.
  13. Hi Gary, I had problems as well when plugging in a mp3 player. Lexus has used an Apple type platform for all of the audio. In your owners manual there should be a section explaining the types of formats for mp3 and its guide on what file type to use when laying down mp3 compatible files. I got so tired of having to mess with the mp3 device I bought an Ipod and now all is well. Paul
  14. Hi Craig!

    Thanks for moving this post.

    Take care

  15. Hi Gene and thank you for your respone. We just bought our 4th Lexus and the most amazing thing in my opinion is the ever growing features and automation. Along with that comes an "Ownwers Manual" with almost a 1,000 pages! You make an excellent point in saying that your experience over time is crucial to your ability to diagnose and fix problems on your Lexus. Your also right in saying our forums have less technical information across the 100,560 members. That is not by purposeful design, but more of the needs that our members ask for. Unlike Club Lexus and other Lexus sites, our forum is strictly all volunteer and non profit. Places such as CL can operate on their income from placements and additional other than Lexus products. The Lexus Owners Club began in 2003 and has continued with all Lexus products since. One of the movements in enthusiast web sites.is the continual shifting downward of users that choose to enjoy the content of social media. This trend is becoming more popular and affects the number of postings on the narrow subjects forums. It's going to be interesting to see what the future holds. We will work to continue providing what our customers want. Have a good weekend. Your participation is a good thing and we will be happy to "talk shop" with you any time. Paul
  16. Hi LXK, Some members have found them on ebay. Some auto audio stores have various kits. Another source may be "United Radio" in New York. They sell, repair and have a long list of manufacturers products. Also there is Crutchfield. Paul
  17. Hi Charles, I don't think you said if the radio is a Premium radio or a "Mark Levinson". First, with only 4 years on it check the miles as well to see if it's still under warranty. If it is a "Mark Levenson" it's likely to be the amplifier. The ML product has had a consistent amplifier for years. When it works, it's great. If you have a standard sound package be sure to look for bad fuses in the front fuse box front left panel next to your left foot. The engine compartment fuse panel is on top of the left fender. The lack of sound, yet still have other items coming and going. In my experience Lexus dealers are top draw. Yes their are some excep=tions. The diagnostic fee is dumb. Just by listening to the unit they all ready gave you the most probable problems but they want to charge you more for what they basicalyly already did. Heres the problem,..Levinson does not propvide traing to Lexus techs. Levinson be lieves that techs will diagnosis and then instead of the problem, The Lexus people have to replace the whole component. The dealer has no way to repair just the fuse or a short in the nestworl. OK. My suggestion is to a thouroh look at all fusses. Best to use a volt meter or Ohm meter. to match the dealer. I would also call "United Radio" in New York. This is a crazy good repair house for every thing sound. Other members have used their services. Their on the net. Let us know how things work out Paul
  18. Hi Robert, The amp is probably either under the front passenger seat or in the trunk; behind the side panels. Paul
  19. Jolly good then! Paul........ Seriously Howard. You did a very good job with your review. I am especially impressed with the production values and the pace, narrative, and great feel you get from the locations and very good camera work. I do have some questions about your review and connections to companies or vendors which may be involved with your product. Send me a PM please so we can chat and talk about your work. Thanks Howard, Paul
  20. I would wait until I've actually driven one and have gone over more than just one commercial. After watching this I would also want to know who underwrites this video. Paul
  21. Hi Gray, The LOC consist of 156,000 members. There are approximately 7 Moderators. Please remember that Moderators are expected to share their expertise and knowledge. Given the numbers above it is impossible to have a staff that can possibly know all things for all models. More importantly The club is a place where members share knowledge with one another. I would remind you that the LOC is a completely volunteer Club. None of the staff, moderators, and the Founders in the UK are paid. To solve your problem I suggest you go to TIS,, (Toyota Information Services) website, Here is nearly all technical information for all Lexus models . Use of the service is $15.00 for the first 48 hours. Paul
  22. There are to many things about my Lexus to fit into just a few sentences I'm a big fan of the review camera and the rear sensors for cars for are about to come across your path as your begin to back up. The quiet ride and oh so smooth ride are excellent. must have add nos. Another feature that is a must have. is the blind spot mirror. It has saved me from an accident more than once. Paul
  23. High Kieth, I'm confused. From one angel it' looks like the rear passenger area or the cargo area of the RX. The passenger pic shows the grill for a sub-woofer. Then this is really puzzling. The pic also shows another ac vent which is on the ceiling placed near the ceiling Trevor, do you know any more about this!
  24. Hi Leopold, I don't think that wide of tire will fit in you car without rubbing against the inside wheel well. Go to the search function and look up post on this topic. I think you will find some additional information. Paul
