Hi Rick, I had a 2005 ES 350, but the button problem doesn't sound familiar. There are two things I would try. One is to do a search on this site for postings. Do you have an owners manual? Or, try TIS, which is Toyota Service Information. This site covers every Toyota brands.,Lexus, Scion and Lexus. The first level is $15 for 48 hours of use. I highly recommend this resource. Paul

Repaired Navigation Touch Screen
pj8708 replied to jlangford's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Excellent post. Way over my head, but learned points I didn't know. Paul -
You might try going to a Toyota dealer. Some off those simple parts like those are sometimes the same. Come back and let us know how it went. Paul

Hi Denny. I think the article is about this model, said the New LFA will be around $250 - $300,000. Other cars coming will probably run from $$80,000 to $125. It sounds like they will keep the flag ship; LS460 , at the low end for those who want the best in a luxury auto but not at Lamborghini price. Paul

2010 LS 460 L Windshield glass has waviness
pj8708 replied to GOLD NUGGET's topic in 07 - 16 Lexus LS460 / LS460L / LS600h
Hi Glen. I have seen only one other posting about this problem. Yours seems to match the same problem as the other. I would suggest doing a search on this search engine and at Club Lexus. In my opinion it should be replaced by Lexus, and Lexus should pay the dealer. Paul -
GPS Navigation System
pj8708 replied to jamstyle's topic in Lexus IS 250 / IS Turbo / IS300 / IS350 / F Sport Club
HI Derrick. I think your right. I have heard that if the car your working on did not come with the navigation unit,.it can be impossible to add a new system. One of the major problems is there are no wiring harness's and other issues . I do know that there are non OEM for mounting in the dash. Paul -
Hi Eugene, Another source for tech info is Toyota Information services. Use of any and all things Lexus, Toyota, and Scion can be found there. The fee is only $15.00 for two days. Paul
-
In my experience, the TIS,(Toyota Information Services), is the holy grail of technical information for Toyota, Lexus, and Scion. Yes, it is $15.00 for 2 days, but the amount of information you can glean during that time is excellent. Whether it's mechanical, electric, or schematics. Most members have had luck on ebay looking for service manuals. Let us know how things are going. Paul

Your Chat Room is meant to be a place to talk to others, post interesting questions about Lexus, post news and articles, and just have a place to put up a suggestion about the LOC. We get many views on the post in the Chat Room, but almost no reply's comments about the postings. Please give your opinion. It is greatly appreciated. Paul

I'm sorry Paul. I just read my response to your question and I realize that it made Willis sound like the bad guy. It was Lujack who were the jerks. Sorry for the mix up.

Your right, it was Willis Lexus. They are an amazing example of what a custoner centered operation should be. A few years ago I checked their prices, and the sales manager would not give me a quote. He said I would only use the price to get a better deal. I told him have you been screened for "Paranoia"? Are you still in Iowa Paul? Paul

I posted another major accident in the General Chat Room. This damage was caused by the dealer! Let us know Billy what you decide to do. Paul

This is a summery of the new air bag recalls. You should receive a notice from Lexus. https://lexusenthusiast.com/2016/06/29/2011-2011-lexus-ct-200h-recalled-for-side-curtain-airbag-issue/ Paul

Six weeks ago I took my car to my dealer for routine service. As I started into the service bay, the man running the door up & down, hit the wrong button. Instead of up, he pushed the down button. There was this huge boom and crashing noise and I couldn't figure out what had happened. The dealer put in a new windshield, roof panel , right side pillar that holds the frame for the wind shield They gave me a 2016 ES 350 to drive as a no cost loaner. While waiting for parts to come, the battery in my damaged car, went dead so they put in a new battery at no charge with a full warranty.. There was absolutely no cost to me and they even did the oil and filter as well as rotating the tires No charge. It was a freak accident and the dealer couldn't have done any more to make things right. Paul

What does this button in my glovebox do?
pj8708 replied to seewhylexu's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Hi guys, At first I thought it might be a Valet lock out. This was to keep some function disabled when leaving your car with Valet parking. But this is not it. The photograph does not look like a typical Lexus part. This part is designed as a after market device. (I don't think Lexus offers this device any more. Paul- 3 replies

Lexus ES350 Issues/ Recommendation for Tires/Brakes/Pads
pj8708 replied to AndyAndy's topic in 07 - 12 Lexus ES350
Hi Guys, As long as your looking at some repairs, the ES is recommended to change the plugs at 125,000. miles. You do seem to have an unusual number of normal but also not usual trouble for your year and model. Some of the members take great pride in talking about their Lexus with 150,000 miles 200,000 miles, even 250,000. The key is following up keep, such as serpentine belt, Maybe or maybe not change the trany fluid, flushing the brake lines, etc. This spring, Consumer Reports published a list of reliability for each make and model. Again, Lexus came out as the most reliable cars. This wasn't just luxury cars but all manufacturers. This was the third year in a row for this honor. Paul -
New member with 2013 RX 350 questions
pj8708 replied to slomarsh's topic in 10 - 15 Lexus RX350 / RX450h
Hi James and welcome. Well, I don't know how much I can be of help but I'll try. The adjustment of the guidance lines in your rear view camera seem to be tied to particular Lexus models. For example, the Lexus NX has the guidance line adjustment, but neither my 2013 ES 350 nor my wife's 2013 RX 350 have it. This could be just a newer release of software. I was able to find several You Tube videos about this and were very help full. They may not be helpful at all, but I think you should do some searches and see what you think. When you close your tail gate, next to the pad you push to open the tail gate, there is a small bump next to the tail gate opening button. This little bump will lock all the doors.with out having to use your FOB. I haven't been able to find any answer to your question about canceling your voice command. Some body else might be able to have some information. If you find some answers please come back and share them. Paul- 1 reply

So this must be Jim in your Mr Rogers mode. Your being very calm and gracious these days (It worries me!!) LOL I do agree the dealer is being both helpful and taking the attitude as they should. I have my side windows tinted but not the rear window. As an alternative, I have had the rear window power sun shade on all my car's. The shade blocks out hot sun light coming in through the window. It does not effect the use of the heat strips.

Rx 400H Air Conditioning Problem
pj8708 replied to jkhemesh's topic in 04 - 09 Lexus RX330 / RX350 / RX400h
Bi-level directs the air flow to come out of the vents across the dash board, and the other 1/2 of the air flow to come out of the floor vents. In this setting the air temperature is still controlled by the "auto" button. To use the setting for adjusting the temp. for driver and passenger, push the button that says "dual". In this setting you will notice the difference in the temperature reading for each of the passenger and driver. Paul -
Wow! What a great car. If you didn't know the model you would think this is a new RX. How did you come across it and what did you need to do to get it up to this terrific level? Paul FYI: If you haven't all ready you can do a search here for different ways to clear up your head light lenses.

This is the most beautiful Lexus I've ever seen. It might be one of the most beautiful sport cars ever . Taken from Auto Design magazine, these photos blew me away. I can't recall ever seeing a car more stunning or more " I go fast" just sitting there. That's my opinion, but for some members the huge front grill might be a deal breaker. On a good note, having the all new look for the rear is what I've wanted Lexus to do for a long time. The Toyota Camry has for the past several years used a rear treatment that looked identical to the ES 350. has The problem with the front grill has been helped by shaping the little fins in what works like a wave as the light strikes it from any direction. Give other members your opinion and/or suggestions. Other members really do want to hear what you think. Paul https://lexusenthusiast.com/2016/06/08/inside-the-lexus-tokyo-design-laboratory/

I imagine that many of we gear heads can tell the brand of any car they might see say in a large parking lot, or a car coming toward you just by the looks of the grill. Well, I would wager with you that the enclosed photos and article from "Auto Design" will show a Lexus model that any one will not be able to recognize as a Lexus. The new modhttps://lexusenthusiast.com/2016/06/08/inside-the-lexus-tokyo-design-laboratory/el is a LF-LEF.

Thanks for bringing this to the Club. Your's are the only reports I'm aware of for the problem and or resolution. Please keep us informed as time goes on. Also, a big "at a boy" for your dealers and Lexus field support. Paul

Hi Billy, In the past I've been able to get part number and price from Sewell Lexus in Dallas, Tx . Try sewellparts.com. I hope this helps. Paul
