  1. I didn't know that! Mine has the incadesent with the little tiny led bulb overhead between the switches to help locate them in the dark. I have driven a Chrysler product with all led interior lights and I can't say I liked them or disliked them... Kind of neureal iI guess. I have noticed that my rear license plate light is an led. Thanks form the interesting factoid. Paul
  2. How about a link that would help this person find your write-up.
  3. Hi Steve, I did have the Bridgestones on my 2010 swaped for Michelins. However, the Michelins came off of my trade-in as they were almost new. Also, I had the Bridgestones swaped off the 2010 before I took delevery so they were still new. I know you have had your Bridgstones tires for awhile but they should be willing to prorate the remaing wear towards new Michelins since you are definately a disatisfied customer. Paul
  4. I'm not an expert, but it sounds like your basic engine knock/pinging usualy caused by useing a gasoline with to low an octane rating. It might also be the engine timeing set incorrectly.
  5. I thought the same thing when I got my 2010. There is a switch in the overhead console that allows you to switch the overhead lights, front and rear, to manual or automatic, on or off. Paul
  6. Your probably right, the actuator is releasing but the spring tension is not there for some reason. Just use your warranty at your local dealer. Paul
  7. Have been following your saga, so glad to hear your good news. Make them sell you a new LS at half price!LOL Paul
  8. Did you note that the mighty Mercedes is not immune. Today they announced a recall of 2010-11 C & E class for potential power steering failure. The power steering can loose all of it's fluid and make the steering virtualy inoperable. As one of you said...no one can make a perfect car. Paul
  9. Don't know what unit you have, nav, no nav, but on my previous ES you touched the "Text" button on the right of the audio buttons, just below the display, and that turned off/on the ability to show title, artist, etc. Don't know if this is your sistuation but thought I would try and help if I could. Let us know. Paul
  10. From what I recall from previous post, trying to copy your friends DVD will be problematic. I would encourage you and the others to do a search on the forum for this topic as it has come up several times before. Good Luck Paul
  11. I think this is a dead horse. It is just one of those things that can be debated forever, and there is no right or wrong answer, just opinion. How about moving on to something more easily solved like..... world peace!LOL Paul
  12. Not quite as much fun when you own the company like you and I do LOL Isn't that the truth! Been there, did that, now retired! (Can I charge it to your company now SW?)LOL Paul
  13. Others have replaced them with HID bulbs, not sure about LEDs. Just do a search and I'm sure you will find several references to same. Welcome! Paul
  14. This brings a whole new meaning to the term "puddle jumper".
  15. How true, how true. Things are never static and every species must continualy adapt to survive. It is either my age or lack of keeping up with the times, but I can't imagine how you can make and ship something the size of a 747 fuselage half way around the world cheaper than you can make it in the factory across the street. Paul
  16. Excellent article re: where your car is made and is it really a "German" car, "American" car, "Japenese", and how do you know. Are you getting what you payed for? Does it matter if it works well and meets your expectations? Paul http://autos.aol.com/article/is-your-car-really-american/
  17. That's great! Were you on Interstate and do you remember how fast you traveled? Paul Traveled 90% interstate ...average speed there was 80 mph. Steve 80 miles an hour average you say. So, that means you were going 90' MPH at times as well as 70' some times. You must have gone up I-95, I think everyone drives 90' on that road. LOL Thanks for the info. Paul
  18. For some reason, I can't get post on the website show up properly. It is www.lexusnavigation.com/map.php. It is leaving out the "gat" on the web address. What am I doing wrong? Ok, I may have figured it out. Go to http://www.lexusnavigation.com/index.php and then click on "Map Coverage". Sorry. Pretty neat. It sure varies by population of area. Since all GPS services use the same geo-sync satellite system, I assume the coverage is the same for all non military providers. Thanks for the information. Paul
  19. Here we go again. This now what seems to be a needless back and forth over the Lexus nav and the "$150" Garmin, which I now see is a "$250" Garmin. I have a Garmin. I have a voice activated Garmin. The point is not whether the Garmin is better than the Lexus nav, or that the Lexus nav is better than the Garmin. The point is does the Lexus nav meet your needs, including all the other features mentioned in your other thread Roger K. If not, don't buy it. If you choose the Garmin only, you'll get a good nav system. Period. If you want to continue with your Garmin vs. Lexus nav I suggest you do a search on this forum. Paul

Just briefly, the navigation screen gives you true "touch screen" control of your audio, climate control, navigation, points of intrest such as nearest Chinese, Italian, etc. resturaunt. as well as voice command to change channels, raise/lower temp. and about a 2 inch thick owners manual that comes with it. Paul What I'm trying to say is, it does a great deal. That is why you need the thick manual. It is fully integrated with the ES systems whereas my Garmin is not. Both navigate well. The Lexus nav just does more. Did I mention the back-up camera on screen. Paul

  22. What a relief! For a minute there I thought they had moved the Autobahn to Canada.
  23. All I can tell you is I bought a 2010. I had them take off the brand new Bridgestones and put on the Michelin Primacys from my 05 ES. Paul
  24. Hope I'm not buttung in, but is that 100 Km or Mph? Paul
  25. Reviews and comparisons of all Lexus models and some competitors such as BMW, Mercs.,etc. (Not to suggest that a Lexus really has any competition!) Paul
