  1. My dealer is taking stock wheels off new inventory and sending them to a chroming shop and putting them back on the new inventory for sale along with regular standard inventory. Frankly, they are quite popular. From the dealers perspective, it gives them something to differentiate their car from every other luxury car with alloy wheels. Everybody has alloy wheels. I purchased the E-Sport style Lexus wheel (polished alloy) for my 2010 ES and am very happy with the appearance. I have not seen another car with these wheels in the three months I've had the car and I get a lot of positive compliments. I had chrome wheels on my former Lexus and loved them. The car was Black Garnet Pearl and the contrast was striking. Whether the chrome wheels are in style or out is like trying to decide if white shoes should be worn after labor day. If you like it and your paying for it, get what you want!!
  2. Cduluk has an annoying habit of being right. If it is the right kit, for the right model, for the right year, you should not have any electrical load issues. I think you'll enjoy the light quality. Makes driving a lot safer at night if you live where there are a lot of deer roaming around. Paul
  3. Not an expert, but you could start by checking to see if the fluid pump is working. When you pull/press the stalk to activate the washers check to see if there is any sound or noise at either the sprayer nozzle end or the reservoir end. The nozzles may be plugged with gunk and can be cleaned with a fine gauge wire. I have filled the reservoir with very warm water and pumped it through several cycles to clean out the tubing. Search subject on this forum. Maybe an expert will chime in here soon. Paul
  4. Thanks for the posting. My wife has a Blackberry and we'll be aware of this issue in the future. Paul
  5. I agree, but you have my curiosity up. Why do you want to fix this yourself when it should be a warranty issue?
  6. Don't mean to but in, but have you checked with your dealer about your warranty? The worst they can say is no.
  7. Welcome to both of you! Let the games begin!
  8. All kidding aside, like so many jobs, others really can't appreciate how much it can take out of you to put yourself out there everyday to be rejected over and over just for that one YES when the deal closes and your a hero again. You deserve to sit back and recharge your batteries now and then to keep your sanity in balance. Paul
  9. LOL. Sometimes I tried to get by with just thinking about a prospect....Never worked.
  10. Some days you just gotta check out and let the mind roam. Enjoy! Paul
  11. As Cduluk mentioned, try "dcfish". He can usually find most things Lexus audio. Paul (sorry to but in?) Yea, nothing that I could find. Problem is, on that site that I linked you too, I'm not sure which one to order. I know it's part number 55901 but I don't know what dashed number it corresponds with.
  12. Your so right. You have to be really carefull at those places. The big question of the day is, why are you playing around on this forum and not out selling?? (Humor) Paul
  13. If your readout is ALWAYS 10 degrees cooler, you definately have a problem. It is normal to have a small variance when you first start out after the car has sat in a parking lot in the sun for a half hour or so, but after ten minutes of driving the reading will come back down to normal. To read low consistantly makes no sense. See your dealer. If your in warranty, your cost is zero. If not, at least they can diagnose the problem and give you an estimate. Paul
  14. Ran across thisn article on AOL, I imagine you folks will have a few comments on it. http://autos.aol.com/article/automatic-car-wash-tips/
  15. Same here. I had to manualy reset the time. You guys are talking about a "info screen" and "auto adjust". Are you talking about the nav screen? If so, how do you acess the auto adjust feature. As far as I'm concerned, I agree it's not a BFD and my car is FM. Paul
  16. Totally agree!! My 2010 is two months old and I paid just a shade under $36,000. You can never insult a salesman...I've been one..
  17. The first step, if you haven't already, is to go to your dealer and tell/show them-use your warranty. Then, go to Lexus Corp if needed. Paul
  18. Just an added note, a rule of thumb for most dealers is $1,000 to get the car ready for certification. You can choose not to take the certification and reduce your sale price by the $1,000.
  19. As always Steve, you have the answers. Paul
  20. I have looked through both the navigation guide and the owners guide of my 2010 ES and just can't find any reference as to wether the nav is DVD or hard drive generated. Can you give me an idea as to were to look? I did find a section on update intervals and how to go about arrangeing with your dealer to get them. It is in the nav manual on page 380...it says that updates are done once a year. Paul
  21. That was my understanding as well, but frankly I've been scared to try it for fear of !Removed! up the wood or screen. ( I'm good at !Removed! up things.) I just got my ES in August, are you saying there is an GPS update already? Paul
  22. Welcome to the LOC! Here are my opinions and others will probably log on and give you theirs. Each has his own particular likes and dislikes, just pick the ones that suit your situation the best. Since you just got this ES, I would takes it to a Lexus dealer for it's first oil and filter change and in the process tell them you just bought the car and ask them to look it over while checking the fluids, tires, brake pads, etc. After that, I personally do not trust a Jiffy Lube or Sears etc. for regular maintenance. I prefer to take mine to the dealer because in my humble opinion, even though it cost more, I feel they know more, catch more things, and in my dealers case, are honest. As for parts, many on here use Lexus, Toyota, and aftermarket. Generaly posting your situation and parts question here can get you an expert recomendation. I had a 2005 ES330 and I used 89 octane gasoline with no problems. Here in the midwest I used Amoco and other major brands. Hope this helps. Paul
  23. A local car audio shop should be able to solve your problem and for a lot less.(I assume from what you said your out of warranty.)
