Sounds like the normal operating characteristics of a vehicle equipped with a fan clutch. It's probably louder on cold starts because your engine RPM's are higher.

You could solder the wires together and cover it up with some heat shrink tubing.

Bosch +4 was OE for BMW's and Mercedes until recently. I'm not positive about MB but BMW has opted to use NGK +4 (100k miles) plugs as OE. Bosch spark plugs are not terribly horrible plugs. They just happen not to be a good match for jap and american cars.

I wouldn't say that your MAF can no longer adapt to the increased air thus maxing out. It seems like your MAF is slow to respond. Yeah, 3.76 gears are going to make a difference off the line. You might want to consider your daily driven vehicle is going to see freeway useage. Yes, I've owned 3 Lexus' in the past. I have 2.93 gears and I can hang with you. :D
