Dejavoo Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Anyone know if the IS Convertible will be AWD? Anyone hear anything regarding the cost?
mr_raider Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 AWD convertible? Seems somewhat paradoxical.
Dejavoo Posted October 15, 2008 Author Posted October 15, 2008 AWD convertible? Seems somewhat paradoxical. I thought a hardtop convertible may be better able to handle the winter weather than a traditional convertible top... Has anyone tried out a hardtop convertible? How does it hold up in the winter?
Dejavoo Posted October 16, 2008 Author Posted October 16, 2008 Maybe check the SC threads for that. So has anyone heard if it will be AWD or even a price yet??
HSK Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 I just got an email newsletter from one of my local dealers regarding the new convertible IS. Here are the pictures from the Lexus site and a link to the page from the Lexus Future Vehicles site: http://www.lexus.com/fcv/is_convertible.ht...:IS_convertible
smooth1 Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 wow that looks really ugly. It has to be just the pictures. I agree, it looks odd. But I thought that about the NIssan GT-R also, and then when I saw it in person, while I still wan't thrilled, it did look alot better than the pictures. The biggest question that comes to my mind about this though is what are the future plans for the SC then? I haven't seen the price of the IS C yet, but I would imagine it would be under the SC'c price.
HSK Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 I think the car looks nice, but I wasn't too fond of the color they chose for the picture set.
Dejavoo Posted October 17, 2008 Author Posted October 17, 2008 I think the car looks nice, but I wasn't too fond of the color they chose for the picture set. I'm guessing it will start at 39,995.. any other guesses?
raymsixsix Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 I don't think it looks bad, but at the same time I'm not really excited when I see it. But, it could just be a matter of getting used to it
lambobaby1218 Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 My husband has already said there's probably no room in the trunk.......
Manolo1 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 The biggest question that comes to my mind about this though is what are the future plans for the SC then? I haven't seen the price of the IS C yet, but I would imagine it would be under the SC'c price. SC is DOA
Manolo1 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 My husband has already said there's probably no room in the trunk....... The convertible is 2 inches longer to allow for trunk roominess....
Dejavoo Posted October 23, 2008 Author Posted October 23, 2008 A dealer told me today it will be RWD! ;( I'll just keep the RX AWD too then.
Manolo1 Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Convertible plus AWD will price the car out of reach for the segment....
NoMorePinkPanther Posted November 8, 2008 Posted November 8, 2008 Trunk room is actually larger than the 4 door version...according to Edmunds.com. This is including when the top is down... I'm not sure how this can be the case, this is only what I have read.
IS250_rookie Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 It reminds me of the Toyota Solara... that huge !Removed! just makes it look like crap
lambobaby1218 Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 I saw this "thing" at the car show last Wednesday, and I don't like it at all. The IS is much nicer in a hardtop.
