Tony320 Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Hey, there sure are a bunch of interesting folks here. As for myself, I just finished my first year of law school and am currently doing a summer clerkship with the Innocence Project. I've pretty much decided that I need an outlet that will allow me to just relax, and I've found just cruising around certainly gives me time to myself to unwind. Nice to meet you folks.

bHengbaNg Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 I used to work at Suntrust Bank full time. I decided to move to a local credit union and go back to school. I work in the ATM department as an ATM specialist. It's actually one of the easiest and relaxing jobs I've had. I guess it is a good thing because I'm sure school won't be "stress free". I'm going for Business, Communications, and maybe Accounting (I'm almost done with the other two and if it's just an extra semester...why the heck not!, right?!). I plan to open my own store in the next year or two. I already have my business set up making purses , jewelery, scarfs and all kinds of accessories. I'm pretty much a work-a-holic =]
Jthomas1315 Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 Mid - Level Manager for a Large Insurance Company.
90LS400Lexus Posted August 6, 2008 Posted August 6, 2008 WOW, what an old thread! I found my below reply from over 4 years ago! LOL. :P STILL a department manager at a local supermarket and probably the LOWEST paid person on here... and thats despite being there over 8 years now (notice I had put 4 years, 4 years ago). Hard to believe its been that long. I STILL have not missed even ONE day of work. Never called in the first time. My grandmother passed away in 2005, but I was on vacation that week, so I did not have to miss work. That was a coincidence. Since my last post, I was offered a district supervisor position (last year), which offered $3.00 more per hour (WOW, lol) and a company car (2007 Impala LS), but did not like the fact I would be working 55-60 hours per week - 37-40 is fine for me now. I have still NOT got back to school to get my meteorology degree. Still putting that off, because the closest school to offer the classes I need is in Asheville (2 hours away) and have ill grandparents I help out with here and not keen about moving to Asheville. Cars are paid for, no really big bills - I still live at home with my folks (or do they live with me? :)), we have a large home and its just us, so its like I have my own house here and have a nice GF and we are in no hurry to get married. I (we) still feel like a little kids and do not want to grow up. lol. Despite no bills, with gas up the way it is and inflation, paychecks are getting spread thinner and thinner, especially after they take out for 401K, insurance, state tax, federal tax, KARE plan, etc, etc, etc. :( Maybe one day I will get a good paying job. I have a friend that works at the airport that has been trying to get me to come to work for her. She is head of the security dept and then I have another friend that works at the home office of the company I work for and she recently moved to that position. She said that when a position up there became open, she was going to get me a job up there. We will see. I just hate "change", you know? Department manager in a local supermarket. There are 86 stores in three states in this supermarket chain. It is an extremely successful business in the region. The stores are located in southwest Virginia, northeast/east central Tennessee, southeast Kentucky and perhaps soon northwestern North Carolina and southeast Tennessee/northwest Georgia. Make my schedule for me and 6 other associates. I have worked there for four years and really like the work. I am soon going back to school to hopefully become a meteorologist. My father is an artist (of stonework) and owns his own business. I always thought I would follow and also become an artist, but I never really gained interest. I have always wanted to work in my cousins art gallery in the local mall. My grandmother works there as well. Really neat place, but not really much of a career for me- because they are making all of the money. My grandfather is a successful retired electrician and I once wanted to do that- because it is an excellent paying job, but I never learned. However, two of his sons are now certified electricians, that learned everything from him. I have never like the thought of working around electrical wiring. :P

Really hoping one day just to be the husband and dad part to my wonderful wife and kids, without all the traveling...or atleast have the wifie and kids around when I am out site seeing the coast... but that will come in the retirement phase.
