  1. It doesn't come base, but can be attained through packages.
  2. although it still comes down to specific vehicles itself, you can expect 200,000+ miles if well taken care off just on clublexus a while ago, a member reported hitting 250,000 miles
  3. The 2IS is a naturally aspirated engine and should not have excess oil burning. Take it in to a reputation mechanic to have a look ...or the stealership if you don't mind paying the premium for inferior service. but also since the car is a little aged, you can try switching up your engine oil e.g. if factory recommend 5W20, maybe try 5W30 so it's a thicker liquid and therefore won't burn as fast
  4. disagree just because it's new doesn't mean it's not been through this and that through transportation and sitting in the lot, it can get prettty dirty (brake dust, especially if transported by train) on a new car, best way is to do a thorough full detail 1. degrease lower half 2. wash 3. clay 4. light polish to bring out shine and remove possible swirls 5. good wax then after that just do quick washes every week or every other week i usually do a full detail 2x a year (winter prep and after winter) wash once a week (quick washes) and finish off with some spray wax once a month i'll put on a new coat of wax (using collinite 845 for protection, and zymol japon for shine)
  5. Pics would help a lot.
  6. About 100,000km should be fine (whatever miles that it) Pads is about half of that, so about 50,000km (and whatever miles that is as well) Usually I change rotors every other pad change
  7. I personally use ONR and very excited to try the new ONR Wash & Wax I use about 2oz (2 cap fulls) in about 5 gallon of water with grit guard insert I also add some Duragloss Aquawax (liquid spray wax) Wash sections at a time using MF mitt and dry off with waffle weave towel However, just to be safe, I always go to a coin wash beforehand. I usually spray the lower half doors, fenders, bumpers, wheels & tires, wheel wells, windows, etc. with an all purpose cleaner (1:2 or 1:3 diluted ratio depending on which APC I use....recommend Optimum Power Clean) Let it sit for a bit, and use a pressure washer to rinse off all the dirty stuff on the surface Canadian winter here, so can get VERY dirty from slush and road salt, etc. I also have Optimum Vinyl & Rubber protectant for the tires.
  8. Nice. Did you order off Sewell? I'm looking to maybe swap out for the new Greddy EVO3
  9. Continental extreme contact dws #1
  10. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-second-generation/657329-latest-recall-engine-misfire-2006-certain-2010-is250-is250c.html
  11. Possibilities... 1. Battery dead 2. Battery bolt too tight 3. Carbon build up issue 4. ??????????
  12. FSport is fairly loud for a 2IS exhaust, not as loud as HKS HiPower and just about the same as original Lexus HKS Very nice sound, tips run a little longer than the Tanabe, more flush if you have a rear lip like the GFX You can check Sewell Lexus online, they sell all genuine OEM stuff as well forum members get a discount (ClubLexus and My.IS...not sure about here) Sometimes they even have it on clearance at super low price, but even their Forum Member price is MUCH lower than any local dealer
  13. Shake a little as in the light flicker? Lowbeams should be fine, where did you get the kit? Try to avoid Ebay kits. If you want quality, Phillips are great by expensive Or run things from reputable vendors such as XenonDepot, or a local reputable shop Fogs may require a harness depends on the car
  14. Checkout ClubLexus forum. Few members there have had their headlight housing "baked" to open them and blackout the inside, then "reseal" them. Lot of useful information there
  15. TPM are attached to the valves on the inside of the tire You CANNOT turn it off There are basically 2 things you can do: 1. Spend the money to have secondary set of TPM installed in your snow which cost $200+ 2. Ignore it! That's what I do. You shouldn't be relying on machines anyways, I always have my tire pressure checked once a week, summer or winter. As well whenever I'm home, my car will sense the TPM in summer tires in basement and warning would disappear Whenever I drove for maybe 20+ minutes, warning will come on again I just ignore it
  16. Stocks are 18x8 +45 on 225/45R17 Now running 18x8.75 +35 225/R18
  17. Not sure about other models but the IS250 tends to have carbon buildup more than others so more frequent oil change is recommended, as well synthetic is recommended because will run cleaner My theory is that changing your oil with a inferior oil more frequently is more beneficial than using a superior oil less frequently because your car is exposed to CLEAN oil more often than DIRTY oil Even best oil will get dirty and running any dirty oil is not good for the engine........But if you can do both then why not :) As well even if you don't drive much, oil still degrade overtime due to the dirty stuff in it so I wouldn't go over 6 months on same oil even if you've driven less than 5000Mil or 8000Km Some people run 10000 KM for Synthetic which is about 6300 Miles....but I still following 8K on synthetic due to my theory Some oils claim can last up to 20,000 or whatnot, but that is only an estimate as well keyword is "up to" There are many other factors that determine the oil life such as driving style, long cruises vs. short trips, local vs. hwy, climate and humidity, environment and pollution etc. EDIT: This is a good video educating people on why you NEED to change your oil at recommended intervals :)
  18. Don't forget Nippon's Eneos :) Made in Japan for Japanese cars Very big in Japanese racing community
  19. I just get OEM filter from Lexus each time and used to run Motul 5W30....which now changing to Eneos 5W30 Not many good alternatives for these cartridge type filters... For the Honda I'm running Bosch, those screw-on filters which have much more better alternatives than OEM
  20. Not sure about other cars but the IS250 tends to have a carbon buildup issue which is better off with 91 But generally speaking, you just dumb down your knock-off sensor to accept regular fuel which in short run results in lower mileage and decreased power, but not sure about long run
  21. for my IS250 I've used 5W30 conventional @ dealer when I got the car, then after about 25,000KM after the car has fully "broken-in" I changed to Motul Synthetic 5W30, this week I'm doing oil change again, about 52,000KM and changing to Eneos 5W30 synthetic
  22. Sounds good but the next gen M3 was also rumoured to be a twinturbo v6 so not sure if BMW wants to let its competitor become a M3 killer
  23. Do you like it? What's your impression? Decent growl between 2300-2800rpm, then at 3000rpm the sound of my K&N intake takes over But overall still too soft for my taste, sounds like a stock car from another brand....even stock G35 is louder Thinking of doing a res delete or swapping out for HKS or new Greddy EVO3 Good thing about it is barely any drone...I think only detected drones when I go through tunnels
  24. Not really a hack intake :) Even though the intake is sucking in warmer air, but the amount of air being sucked is a LOT more than stock because the pipe is smooth instead of ribbed (which restricts air flow) as well if you compare an aftermarket pipe and stock rubber pipe there is a part that comes out on the side which restricts airflow even more Therefore the power gain overpowers the power loss, which is a net gain Especially good for winter with a clean filter since air is so cold
