  1. greenone, So far no one has any spy photos of the 09 RX nor know what kind of engine it will have (RX370? RX380?) but the only news is that it is predicted to change in 09. As for buying a current RX350, there might not be any deals on them because the RX350 is already an 07 model (even though it's been out this whole year of 2006) and you know how dealers are when the model year is ahead of the current living year. Wait for december and you may avail of some promo during the "Lexus December to Remember" sales event. ;)
  2. Welcome! I can answer your #2 question. Yes that seems like a good deal since they are moving out the 06s and the 07s are arriving in. $47k back in 03 was a GX with only 3rd seat so getting a Nav/ML/RSES (Rear Seat Entertainment System) is a great deal. Now for that 2nd hand GX, I have no idea what you should offer. It really depends. Maybe the dealer slapped in a 100k warranty or something since it is a CPO (certified Pre-owned). Good luck in the search of your new vehicle. This is the best part in buying a vehicle, the decision of what options to get, and getting the lowest price possible. Ahh, I'm starting to miss that already (even though it was only 3 months ago that i was in the buying process also). :D
  3. Seems like Toyota's been having issues with those railing covers. One of those came off my GX within the first month it was new, and i didnt even bother getting them back on. ;) So far the one in my 4Runner is still intact. :D
  4. No problem. ;) Even a person like myself needs to look at all seat cover options for a 4Runner.
  5. I remember that 5 years ago, I heard rumors that gas prices would be $3-$4 a gallon on Sept 12 and forward. But anyways, we will never forget those lost in 9/11.
  6. I can only answer one of your questions as I don't have DVD. Regarding your side mirrors, they can be turned off. I know your side mirror switch must be in either L or R and that's what activates your automatic reverse tilt mirrors. Just put the switch in the middle, and they won't tilt. As for the DVD, it must be in the owner's manual but sorry to say I have no idea on that question. It's okay to post questions that other people might consider "absurd" because we were all newbies on this vehicle at one point. ;)
  7. I have reason to belive, that you could probably order an 06 4Runner seat cover, but that might only work for the front seats. The second row seems different, possibly an RX300 2nd row. As for the third seat, definitely no idea. Just my idea. They seem pretty similar as I can compare it side by side. :P Try these. Found these in like two minutes using the search on Yahoo. http://www.autoanything.com/products/produ...amp;PID=1686367 http://www.mynewcarpurchase.com/car-seat-cover.html
  8. Becareful with the workmanship of the vehicle. I have a friend that for a couple years bought SALVAGED cars from a guy that can fix them up. They were never, or even close to the original vehicle. Suspensions were all messed up, rattle here, noise there. Well just a word of caution. Now if you want a real steal (and if you have the cash) have a guy in town (that fixes salvage cars) find you a salvaged LS400, or even LS430 that was STOLEN. I've heard stories that an LS430 or S600 was stolen, and considered SALVAGE but was recovered and found out that the only thing wrong with it is that the NAVi was missing. No body damage or anything. Those are the good salvage buys. Just my $0.02 ;)
  9. It's ok. I also think it sticks too far out, and maybe only a single exhaust on both sides would be better. Only thing I never like about the RX300's exhaust is that pipe "dragging" underneath the car! It seemed to be a Camry design and till now I still can't get used to that! I like the one Lexkid posted. It seems nicely done, and tucked in like the RX330/350s. ;) Btw, shouldn't the title be "quadruple exhaust"??? lol. :o :)
  10. Try checking Japan's 1st Gen Toyota Harrier (or known here in the U.S. as RX300) as they MIGHT have a manual tranny. As for websites for that, I have no clue! :(
  11. Hamma gonna hurt 'em! Hahaha... Glad to see Jaws on Paws is still kickin'! We're going to do some deck work in the spring, which means I have finally found a use for the phnumatic air hammer!! Pretty sad really when you need a mortgage just to find an excuse to use one of your phnumatic tools. Hahahaa.... dens... yeah man, $35 a month for dues. But it does not include the front lawns, unfortunately. It takes care of all the common areas, curb appeals, pool, club house and park areas. It's a pretty big pool, that's for sure. But, we'll see what happens after I get on "infiltrate" the finance committee and see the budget. One thing I am already going to propose is for edging of grass along sidewalks. Some folks need to clean up a bit in that department. You know what they say; the nicer your neighbor's house looks, the more valuable your house becomes. Also depends on location too which will be a BIG determining factor in house pricing. ;) Not bad, $35 a month. Ours here is $105 a month, i think. But it includes EVERYTHING on the front yard (flowers, treees, whatever is in front of the house), maintainance of the gates, and lamp posts, but not the backyard. Im lucky I don't have to mow the back yard because the previous owner put artificial grass in the back... Just be careful with HOA rules. Sometimes they may be strict with working on cars in the garage (In my neighborhood they dont allow people to work on cars here in the street or on the driveway) so watch out! Some nosy neighbor might tell on you! lol. I know here in my neighborhood, if you have a loud party going on after 10pm, there's like a $50 fine (neighbors will obviously tell on you) so I guess welcome to HOA life! :) But you'll enjoy the quietness of it. I like a gated neighborhood because I can rest assure that I can leave the GX outside a night or two when it is his turn to sleep outside (yes, I make all the cars sleep outside sometime or another, They gotta take turns!) so enjoy!
  12. Nice. Looks pretty clean and well taken cared of. ;)
  13. Well Lexus is going to say that it's cars are so well built, that an extended warranty isn't necessary. ;)
  14. nc211, is there an HOA fee by any chance? You did mention a community pool, and if u do have an HOA fee, does that include lawn mowing the front lawn?
  15. I just read in the manual that it should be normal. Check page 50 in the owner's manual for further information. ;)
  16. must be broken. have ur dealer check it out.
  17. Nice and Congrats! geez $125-145 a sq ft? wow. Havent seen those kinds of home prices around here and definitely the market here in Fresno officialy flattened. No such term as a "low ball" offer to the many new agents that just entered real estate at the wrong time. A typical price of a house here: my dads listing (that finally got into escrow) started at only $180 per sq ft , not a single offer. Got an offer when the price went down to $164 per sq ft. Really expensive here! :chairshot:
  18. The Highlander (current 1st gen) is bigger than the RX330/350 IMO because it is basically still an Rx300 (except the bigger engine and a few more gizmos) which I think is a lot roomier than the current one. The sloping rear quarter panel makes the RX330/350 shorter in overall height inside and out and to me seems like a bigger blind spot compared to the Rx300 ;)
  19. NO. LoL. If I was the only one living in my house, maybe I would. It makes ur morning rush a little easier though. If I have the chance I park one of them in reverse. Its not that hard. Lets just say that its a like father like son thing. ;) Back in my old house there was a lot of junk in the garage. My dad has gout and when he had an attack he could never enter the drivers door on the car in the left side of the garage. So he would always have to park that car in reverse just in case the gout acted up.
  20. Try this http://www.leatherseats.com/ ;) I moved this to another forum so that there will be more foot traffic, and more advices about this certain topic as this topic doesn't just concern the GX470. :) B)
  21. I asked if this could be done and was told no.:cries: They stated it was for safety reasons, I think they just didn't want to do it. We wanted a "hot" 12 volt outlet for our 12 volt cooler. All of our previous 5 Jeeps had an "always on" 12 volt outlet. I don't think i've seen a Japanese made vehicle with an "always on" 12V. I've seen those in the Chryslers I've rented before, but never in a Honda or Toyota, or Lexus. <_<
  22. I agree with SW, there is fault here. You did ACCEPT the vehicle. I commited the same mistake with my 4Runner's alarm. I allowed them to install a "toyota certified" alarm, called Pursuit, and when i got it back, the only OEM thing about it is that it doesnt require a different remote other than the remote that the vehicle came with. But everything was aftermarket: an extra LED blinking light, immobilizer bypass, and flashing park lights when lock and unlocking. Then a couple weeks later, i found out that there is such thing as a real OEM toyota alarm (Toyota VIP RS3200+ system) and the dealer agreed to remove their crappy Pursuit and take the hit on labor costs and they installed the VIP system. athough this one was the parts deparment's fault. Before i had the Pursuit installed i asked the parts department if there really isnt a true OEM alarm. They said no. Then i asked another dealer in town, they said "We can get it in 2 days" so that's when i went back to the dealer and they admited their mistake. ;) :) And they were charging $600 for an aftermarket "toyota certified" Pursuit alarm. pssht. Yea right.
  23. I would support future vehicles that require ALL occupants buckle their seatbelts before the driver can start the vehicle
  24. Would you happen to know what is the exact color name? My guess is Burnished Gold. If the paint is fading then it means the car was exposed to sunlight a lot. If the fade is really bad then I think there isnt much you can do. :(
  25. Nica, you will surely enjoy it. It's us 03-05 owners that took the hit on the problems. Took Lexus a few years before they got a permanent fix. Once it's fixed up (like mine) you'll just enjoy the smooth V8 of this vehicle. ;)
