I could talk about it also, but the actual tv isn't here in my house. My parents have one of the first colored Sony Trinitron TVs with the channel switch that you have to turn, antenna, HD w/surround sound (ok maybe not this) and yes it was something I would look forward to having. lol. We got our plasma when we first moved into our current house. I bet our wall is the EASIEST way anyone could easily hide the wires. I don't know about you guys and if you had your plasmas and LCDs mounted in the wall, but I have a storage space under my staircase which greatly helped the installer fish the wires out.

That's done for due respect to these very important people.

RIP. :cries: I read about it on Yahoo news around 10pm last night. 93 years old. :(

Wow. 20" that's really big for OEM rims. Definitely not made for offroading. I remember there's a video on Youtube, make a long story short some guys bought a new FX35 (because they won money in Vegas) and decided to just mess it up by driving it around offroad and bashing the bumper against their Expedition. Wish I could post it here but there's inapporpriate language in it. They really tested the limits of it but I don't think the car was in the best of shape. lol.

Please try to contribute to the LOC club before selling anything. We've changed the rules a bit and after you make 5 significant posts (none of the "I agree", "I would choose the 18 inch" "I would go for it") then you may post in the Buy and Sell forum including the appropriate information of the product according to the rules. Thank you.

You are totally correct. I've seen a co-4Runner owner who has an 06 with the projectors, and he installed a 6000k HID kit, looks beautiful. Looks like OEM except that it doesn't level. Made me actually a little jealous and am really thinking hard on whether I should do it or not. His only costed $250 and he says they're good stuff. I forgot the website but it's not xenondepot. Xenondepot.com is expensive though. :)

Wait were you talking about my GX? Or are you talking about my 4Runner's rims? I only have regular alloys on the GX. ;) Maybe you're referring to my 4Runner's chrome. 4Runner rims GX rims

That's probably cause you got your GX during the Lexus December to Remember. I've noticed that even though the vehicles on car lots are now 07s, they are a little cheaper, probably to entice consumers to buy. I noticed that especially with the 07 4Runners. They are a bit cheaper than what they were back in summer 06. Probably a "holiday deal" for everything. Not to be off topic, but even my cellphone was on sale. A Treo 680 costs way less than the old Treo 650. Weird, isn't it but it's true.

Looks like I got myself an extra Christmas present. I took the Runner in for an oil change and rotation on Friday, and they returned the car with a big scratch on one of my rims. It looks like the guy removing the rim wasn't paying attention or something and was doing the "trial and error" kind of job when he inserted his drill to remove the bolt. So there are a few dents from that on the same area of only ONE rim. Told the service guy and after checking it out he went inside to talk to his manager. I was wishing he would at least pay to re-touch it or something. I thought it was going to be another "fresno Leuxs" fight where they would defend themselves quickly and say that it's not their fault. To my luck, he comes out and tells me that he's going to get the tire size of the 4Runner. Then on he explained that they will replace the rim for free but it will take about 2 weeks before it comes in and I have to leave the car in the dealership for a day as they have to remove the scratched rim and take that and the new one to a tire shop where they can swap out the tire to the new rim. Talk about service and Christmas at the same time! Sometimes it's not even the kind of car they service (Lexus, BMW, Benz, etc.) but the PR of the dealership. Definitely a 5 star rating from me and I gave my service guy a Pie and CD as a gift for Christmas :)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone here at LOC!

dacf, yes unfortunately i think it's been a little tough lately to get the parts in. As you may notice if you read the last 2 or 3 pages before this, member Nica had a hard time getting the parts for the car. But since you have a new GX, it doesn't matter and you have plenty of time to get it fixed. ;)

That article seems strange. I checked the website of the game, and nowhere in the "car dealership" section has Lexus as even an option for buying! http://www.testdriveunlimited.com/ Or is there a different one from the website? I checked their forums, and saw this one mentioning the Lexus line-up http://forums.eu.atari.com/showthread.php?t=46226

Are There Any 'retro' Things That You Would Like To See Again?
denslexusgx470 replied to CanadaCraig's topic in General Chat
Oh wait. I remember something about old cars (since you guys are talking about cranking the car). Well I don't find this to be a really good thing, but if you are ever mad at someone, and they have an old car, just pump the gas (while the car's off) and flood the system with gas so it wouldn't start.lol. I don't think cars nowadays get flooded with gas in the system if you pump the pedal while the car's off. -
hmmm strange. different results. I beg to differ. I use the Lexus cleaner and it's just fine. We have cracks in our leather because of the fact that we have to climb down of the car (which squeezes the leather and makes the crack appear) and that's what causes more cracks in the LX and GX compared to an LS, GS, ES, IS, or SC. teamhomless, friendly reminder, next time you type, could you kindly NOT use caps as people sometimes get annoyed with it making it look like you are shouting or mad at what the opinion of others are. Thanks.

This is a hard decision. If the warranty can be carried over, and the import tax isn't that much, go ahead and do it. But they are correct when it comes to climate. You might need an undercoat protection for it to prevent rust, as you don't know what kind of water there is when it rains. It might be hard to get parts, unless they have a Lexus dealership there. I don't know if they carry the counterpart to your GS300 (aristo in Japan) but the parts to the counterpart are sometimes slightly different. I know for sure there is a Toyota Prado (GX counterpart) in Saudi Arabia I think, so it's possible there might not even be a Lexus dealership there.

If it does, then how come it isn't in the manuals? I mean, they actually inform you in the newer car manuals that the newer vehicles have this new data recorder but if you insist that the SRS system has one too, how come it's not in my ody's manual or GX's manual? I mean, like some people said, if it's a great feature (the srs data recorder) then how come they don't even disclose it in the manual at least? ;)
-
Well if it functions and records like the new black box, then what's the use of the new data recorder that newer vehicles have? The car company should just use that SRS data recorder for their back-up in lawsuits instead of going through the hassle of putting one themselves. It may record that 20 sec window of the crash, but the new data recorder is a lot worse. It records the shifter position (even though it should be always in D), seat position of occupants, amount of depression of the accelerator and brakes (if the brakes were even applied), seatbelts of both the driver and passenger(if they were buckled), and front passenger classification. All these are not included in the SRS data recorder.

Can You Replace A Power Antenna With A Stationary One?
denslexusgx470 replied to danigirl's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
Why not use the original antenna and just find a way for the motor to stop working? That way it fits perfectly and isn't that noticeable when you're driving down the road. ;) -
But that's for SRS. We're talking about the new black box that only newer vehicles have. Now if you get in an accident that doesn't trigger the SRS, then the data recorder of the SRS wouldn't really matter. The new black box would record everything regarding any accident even if the airbags deploy or not.

2003 Gx470 Dvd Controls Without Remote
denslexusgx470 replied to april07's topic in 03 - 09 Lexus GX470
Unfortunately you must buy a remote to be able to access the rear seat entertainment and audio system. Congrats on the purchase! ;) -
well the only solution is to never buy a car unless it was made in 04 or older. This is like the seatbelts, don't like it but you gotta have it. Yes it doesn't really compare to the black box privacy but it's the law now. Like in Canada, it's the law to have DRLs but some people just hate having lights on during the daytime.
-
But i use appropriate (suitable for a Lexus) music at times when I think it is necessary. ;) Bass in the GX isnt that much. The bass in the 4R, IMO, is a lot more than the GX.
-
Not in the near future. This shouldn't stop you from buying a GX right now. I got an 06 4Runner and I know in my mind that both the GX and 4R should be due about 09. ;)
-
Ok. I gotta be honest here, Rap, hip-hop, and r&b. I don't mind Jazz and some 80s-90s music, and 80s-90s R7B but that's it. ;)

Buying A Gx470- Have Questions On Year
denslexusgx470 replied to april07's topic in 03 - 09 Lexus GX470
I think I stand corrected. Maybe it was 05 when it came out. I think it was the LX that I was thinking of that the Bluetooth came out in 04. :P ^_^
