I have this aux input jack exactly where you said it should be, but I have a ML audio system. Maybe they don't have it on the standard radio. Wait I had a standard radio in the loaner, no nav or ML and the aux input was there?!?!?!?! I didn't quite notice if it had a tape player though. It had bluetooth, which I thought was kinda odd on a car w/o Nav/ML. (or does that mean it has ML but no Nav?) :D It's kinda weird to compare these two, but my 4Runner actually has an aux input in the same location as the ES350, and my GX doesn't (well the 07s now have it, I've seen it :( ) It comes in really handy. It gives me a hard time connecting my PSP to the GX as I have to use either a cassete adaptor, or a FM transmitter (which eats a lot of batteries, signal isn't too good) so I end up having to burn more cds just to play my music in my GX. <_<

haha. You got that right. I carry my PSP with me most of the time. I also use it as my mp3 player. I mean, imagine just carrying several different gadgets, when some of the gadgets could do the function of the others? Right now I'm carrying a Treo 650 and PSP in my backpack. I want to find a headphone adaptor for my Treo so I can leave my PSP at home more often and use my Treo as my cellphone/PDA/mp3 player. Back before I got my dad's old treo, I had to carry around a cellphone, PSP, and a Palm Zire 31. Down to only 2 gadgets now! :) I actually got a Nokia E62 for xmas, but I'm still trying to get used to using a PDA w/o touch screen. Personally the touch-screen technology has really grown on me too much. That's why with Cingular (or other GSM companies) I can easily switch from one phone to another. :P :D But I don't really like that new Ipod/phone. I'd rather get a Treo 750 that can do all the functions of that phone, and have the best internet surfing phone. :)

Engine may last 400k miles, but you'll definitely be spending a lot of $$$ on other electronic things that simple cars like Toyota and Honda don't have. ;)
-
I think you're wrong. The ES350 should have an aux input inside the center armrest. It's right next to the 12V socket inside the center armrest. Check again, it should be there. ;)

I definitely would pick the ES anyday if I were in the market for a sedan. haha, I was talking to a guy the other day that has a ES350. I asked whether he got a deal or not. He says "Yes, about $3,000". Then he explained (and obviously it shows why) that he got other stuffs "cheaper" (i.e. extended warranty for about $1k or less, chrome rims for about $200 less, etc.) and that he was happy with his top of the line, everything on it (including the dealer installed headrest monitors) ES350. And you know what he was comparing it to? A honda accord! lol. :)

Ok I give up! <_< lol. Maybe there was. Do you remember exactly what vehicles showed up in what seasons? I don't feel like spending $$$ again to watch them all, and don't have time also, but this is how I remember them... season 2: LX470, SC430, 03 LS430 (wayne palmer's, or did that show up in season 3?) and maybe 03GS300 season 3: definitely 03 GS300, 03 GX470, LX470???(the part where they go to the bank to get something??) season 4: (seems like I forgot about this season, maybe it's because it's friday nite :whistles: ) season 5: 06 GS300, 06 LS430 Wonder if they're gonna have a new LS460L for "President Wayne Palmer"?? lol. Boy I can't wait for Sunday (and Monday)!
-
Oh definitely here. Last summer I rented ALL the previous seasons so I could understand what they're talking about in season 5. Very ADDICTING... <_< ;) Can't wait for Sunday! Already promised myself that I won't do anything Sunday evening that will jeopardize whether I can watch it or not. :D Wait I don't know about a Lexus in every season. First season was full of GM and Fords. 5th season was totally Toyota (rav4, 4runner, camry, avalon, tundra, prius) So far the Lexus vehicles I've seen on the show are: LX470, SC430, (01) LS430, (04) LS430, GX470, (03) GS300, (06) GS300

Well mine's stingy. lol <_< I bet they do have age restrictions though, right (shhhh)? :whistles: lol. Even with the dealer being like this, people do abuse the privelege. They get a lot of phone calls saying "Sick right now, can't return loaner until tomorrow" and other BS like that. Even with that, my dad barely got a loaner and almost ended up with an Enterprise. Only thing I hate about enterprise (aside from that it's not a Lexus) is that you have to fill em up upon return. haha. I only put $5 on this just so that the car wouldn't die on the way back to the dealership (yes it was pretty low, playing around with the low fuel level) :D

if only they let me keep the loaners overnight then maybe i would have a better feel of them. the nice service guys are gone probably because they were letting ppl keep them longer than they have to! i remember the longest time i had a loaner (and rental too cuz they wouldnt let me use the loaner out of state) was 2 weeks! now theyre tryin to get smart on you by returnin ur car to you while orderin the parts(unless its a safety issue) so you dont keep the loaners for long! <_<

geez. Good thing I had mine checked out. 8 days before warranty expires I decided to have it checked. turns out that both the front and rear rotors were warped, and they replaced all the pads and fixed the rotors. Warranty paid for the front rotors and pads (even though I just got pads like 1 year ago) and I had to pay for the rear. Bonus bonus, yes the front pads were a bonus but what was weird that the rotors weren't corrected the first time when I had the front pads replaced.

Maybe I should change the topic description of this topic. lol. I finally got a chance at an ES350 today! Now I know what amf's enjoying this whole time. lol. Personally, there isn't much difference in performance. Yes the extra gear was nice though, and the available tip-tronic, and smartkey were nice but the performance is almost the same. Response was better on the pedal, had to get used to it a little as it would always jump forward on me (during the first moments I drove it). The blind spot was killing me, personally. The xenon plate light, and cabin lights just made me go . Only problem was that the loaner I got had a defective tranny. It's only 9 months old, with 9k miles, and there's a grinding feeling when the car shifts from 1st to 2nd gear. :( I know our Ody had a tranny that was at it's dying moments, but this one was horrible. Well I had fun, but too bad i couldn't keep it for at least 24 hours. :( It was kinda weird that today was a day where both "toyota" vehicles were in the shop. <_<

Industry's First Dual-format High-definition Disc Player

holy cow. how much "higher" will these High Definition systems go! And I thought my "progressive scan" was good enough cuz the cable installer said this is considered the "hd" dvd player. <_< -

I'm sorry to hear about your mishaps. I would, personally try to have the immoblizer code changed so the theif couldn't access your GX anymore. You and me are in the same boat as to bumper damage. Mine was my fault, but it still hurts to see it (on my 4R). The waiting period to getting our cars back fixed is what tests our patience. <_<

Make sure you have a working battery in your remote. Mine died pretty quickly so check that first as that might be the reason why you can't access the RSAS.
-
I did, and still do when I don't drive it. :whistles: It's pretty handy, even if you sit in the passenger's seat. No more with playing around with CD players or Ipods that have a dead battery or something. I just pop in my cd, let my dad listen to his station while i listen to my cd. That's a rip-off, imo. You pay more, you get less now. I'm guessing GXs w/RSES still have access to RSAS stuff, right?

With the rear seat audio, the person in the back can listen to their own music. BUT the front and back can't use the same mode. I.E. If the front listens to a certain station, but the kids in the back want to listen to a different station, it's not possible. If they want to listen to something different, they have to use a different mode (CD, cassette) because the system can't handle playing two different radio stations, or two different cds at one time. Idk if it's just me, but I was at my Lexus dealership yesterday, saw some GX with Nav and 3rd seat, but is the rear seat audio been removed? I looked inside to see if they have DVD, and found just one little flat light on the ceiling, similar kind of light that the ones with rear DVD have. I think that's a rip off. To begin with, $53-$55k for a GX with 3rd seat and Nav is too much i think. Back then it was: GX w/o anything (no 3rd seat) -$45,700 GX w/3rd seat - $47,000 GX w/3rd seat and DVD -$49,000 GX w/3rd seat and Nav/ML - $49,000 or $50,000 GX w/3rd seat, DVD, and Nav/ML (no aux in for the DVD system) - $51,0000 GX w/3rd seat, DVD, and Nav/ML (with aux input for DVD system) - $53,000
