  1. very true BUT Lexus places more complicated computers and gizmos that in the long term, might not work. unlike a regular toyota or non-luxury car, they don't have all the power this, power that, no display screen, etc.. so chances of things breaking in the vehicle is less.
  2. WOW 120k in 5 years! that's a lot of mileage for a 5 year old car! as a former rx300 owner, i'm not sure if it's gonna be good (especially u duno how the previous owner REALLY used the car). ;)
  3. WOW :o do u think it'll be the same thing with the rx400h???
  4. well here's the thing, the kid was in the wrong place at the wrong time, but u were in the right place at the right time, in time to help and save the kid! ;)
  5. sux that we can't drive over 10mph in different height modes... :chairshot:
  6. sorry to hear about that. nope, none so far for me ;)
  7. Congrats! Enjoy it!
  8. APPOINTMENTS??? WOW, is it still a hot buy until now?? all i really care is that Hybrid will come to SUVs, YeaH!!!
  9. new improved kdss, huh? <_< i guess all those complains about Gxs leaning towards the left has Lexus on their toes right away to change or improve it. lol
  10. hate to say it, but sometimes i hate those sales people, they usually don't tell the truth. once i bought a car a long time ago, i asked if the redesign is coming, person said "no" but the next year or 2 came around, A NEW ONE, REDESIGNED and BIGGER ENGINE CAME OUT!!!! that's why i never trust those sales people. they won't say anything about the future plans becuz it means no sales for them, they can lose the sale to another person if they don't sell to you NOW, u might go to another person someday when the new redesigns come out, so it's always about the $$$ when it comes to sales. :chairshot:
  11. i duno about depreciation costs in oregon, but here it's roughly 20% so basing that ur rx was 46k, 20% off will leave u at selling ur rx330 at $37,200. Maybe if ur price was around 38-40k, someone might bite for it right away. btw, is it true that there's no sales tax on the cars there? My friend bought his Gx in oregon becuz he said that there's no sales tax. He also gave me the frame and plastic plates so I've got those plates too! lol
  12. well i think it's possible if u connect it, i guess! cuz when i rented a town & country before, i recharged my cell the whole time, even with ignition off BUT not all of the outlets were connected to the battery, not to the ignition.
  13. i know that i don't have an Rx330, but what do u mean by pause? I've tried the rx330 as a loaner, is it the pause when u open the auto rear door?? jst curious! :whistles:
  14. is the new engine a 270 hp one??? that's what i heard somewhere!?!?!?
  15. i don't think it will work that way, but if u do find one, keep us updated!
  16. careful when using premium, becuz it happened to me once that i upgraded to premium for a while, then came to california, shocked by gas prices, downgraded to unleaded, created a engine ping.
  17. hmm, strange, all 00-03 Rx300s come with standard spoilers and roof racks. so to me an 01-03 Rx300 without a spoiler looks kinda strange to me! lol
  18. hmmm i was guessing around 30k becuz these michelins seem to be long life. i just hit the 20k and the tires seem relatively ok still. thanx
  19. No ;) Ford is present at the design meetings on all of the component peices and some units developed for Jaguar, Volvo etc are used in Ford vehicles but all thecar companies Ford owns continue to be run by the same people, built in the same factories, and built to the same standard they've always been. Ford simply provides a backbone, an infusion of cash, and a safety net allowing them to take greater chances and improve quality more than when they had been independent. ohhhhh
  20. I'd agree but the technology has been around for almost 5 years now, its been tested by time in all kinds of conditions. The technology IS sound. The same technology from the Prius is going into the 400h, its just mated to a bigger engine thats all.
  21. yea, i guess we can blame the factory for that problem! but it's the squeaks and rattles that are produced by "THE DEALERS" in trying to fix a previous problem. hate that, had that problem in my rx300 (with the factory defect rattling glove box) had my dealer fix it, created a creaking sound in my dashboard right next to the windshield defogger vents but i was able to reproduce the sound anytime i wanted to, SUX! :chairshot: that's why i try to avoid taking my car to the dealer to get a squeak or rattle fix, cuz they end up maybe fixing it 80% but creating a whole new pain in da !Removed! rattle! :chairshot:
  22. yeah sand dollar pearl, rockon! you wouldn't happen to have problems with the color, would you? you know, the rumors that Sand Dollar Pearl has "Adhesion Problems" which i think is totally not true becuz they made it on the Lx, and they still do for the 04 LX470s! www.lexus.com and build an Lx, Sand Dollar Pearl is still an option. weird they removed it on the Gx, hmmmm
  23. Which is based off the same platform as the 4 Runner ;) The ES is sold in Japan as the Toyota Windom which MUCH more closely resembles the ES than the Camry (much as the Prado does the GX), but that doesn't change the fact that the ES is based off of the Camry platform. If I were buying an SUV today I would buy an Infiniti FX 35 or 45. Great styling, fun to drive, both of them are fast, and they're not rediculously expensive. Lexus doesn't have anything in the SUV line that really appeals to me. The RX is too minivanish, the GX aside from being rushed to production and being plagued with reliability problems is lacking some key features such as xenon lights and has some cheap interior fittings, and the styling looks too tall for me. Plus they have that rediculous rear door that opens on a hinge making it useless if backed into a parking space. The LX470 is old and doesn't have a lot of usable interior space. As for Range Rover, its not "made by Ford" its owned by Ford. Ford has done an awesome job with captive companies they've bought like Jaguar (Ford took Jaguar from the bottom of the reliability and customer satisfaction shots and put them at the top), Lincoln took a 15 point jump in initial quality and customer satisfaction to BEAT Lexus this year. They've almost tripled Land Rover sales since they purchased it and doubled the reliability ranking. Don't knock Ford nowadays, they're not !Removed! around anymore. Lexus is a great car, but plenty of other people make great cars too. hmm, funny i heard that all the cars that Ford "owns" has engines that are MADE by Ford but still keeping the same or similar specs of it.
  24. what? buy the Gx not because of ur "status" or "fame" but to enjoy driving the car! heck, only my homies and me (around dec 02-jan 03) were the, i guess "Crazy" ones becuz we all were convinced that we're gonna get a test drive when we buy our GXs! so all the guyz that are buying a Gx now have the cutting edge! hehe, I (luckily) got a test drive about 4 days before my Gx came in, I didn't feel much bumpiness but really noticed the sound insulation, VERY GOOD ! My dealer is set on one of the busy streets, so it was really noisy, but once i got in, "What happened to the sound??" That's how i really convinced myself that this was the right SUV! P.S. It was nice around jan03-mar03 to have the "fame status" becuz not too many Gxs were on the road! hehe, really liked it and, got used to it, damnit! no more of that now! :chairshot:
  25. try this, sit in the driver's seat and push up on the ceiling, maybe loose?? that's what i did before, but it wasn't an rx330, it was a town and country i rented, heard the same thing u heard, searched around and decided to just bang on the ceiling "CLICK", ceiling was loose! try that and see.
