  1. The hour rate is nothing new here. My old Lexus dealer (in MA) was $120 for a DINO oil change and $299 for a coolant flush. Then again your $1,200 is the same for a 90K too. It is nothing new and per say, not much. Even gone to a Ford dealer or a dodge or GM dealer. Same thing. I know diesel owners (since I owner one) that pay $800 for a starter alone. So that makes $1,200 for a complete service not bad!
  2. coool. maybe get some free rims! :)_
  3. Ozone at some high PPM will remove it, I have done it. Cigar I feel is harder.
  4. :whistles: :whistles: It is the cerveza talking
  5. Wanted to try a Motorvac service to clean out exhuast system. Motorvac is not do it yourself. I considered doing Seafoam but have read on this and many other forums the praises of Motorvac. So I figured I'd give it a shot. BTW, I found a place in that does Motorvac. Sooner Muffler & Brakes 3117 Canton Hwy. Cumming, GA 30041 770-889-3943 Whole service ran $99.50. not a bad deal. Use B-12 to clean intake etc. Works better.
  6. yes, been posted on autopia for about like 2 years. Not many like it and a few due.
  7. You are obviously very well versed in the use of chemicals so I will concede to you superior knowledge And it took your this long to post where you got your info from? Bad "ref"s ..tisk tisk Well, then I assume you use an eco friendly wax, cleaner etc on your car and I hope then did not hurt any trees, water bacteria in the making. Lets see, should I worry about a wheel cleaner or solvants/cleaners at work that make these little acids look like milk? humm That is great you have the background and stating the facts for about the 10000 time. But ha, for me engineers are not any better then anyone else.
  8. Vinegar works with h20: 1 to 1 ratio
  9. again this debate is getting even older now (adding more years too it). As I stated above, if you are worried about these cleaner do not clean your car, your home, drive a car on the streets, buy bottled water etc. If you read "in to" most products you would not use them. For the 3rd time, if you use as directed you are fine.
  10. Great. why re-ype the same info? Plus I do not trust "wiki-a-lier" site. Way to many times people can mod it and make it incorrect.
  11. check the belt tightness or you have a comp issue. Mine did the samething before I got a new belt.
  12. If this acid is your 'friend' I'd hate to see what your enemies would do to you? Hydrofluoric Acid (SiO2): [: is a highly toxic and corrosive solution of hydrogen fluoride in water.] Cleaning paint (inc wheel surfaces) - ten or more years ago this method was widely used by body-shops and detailers to remove water spots from paint surfaces, however, as time progressed, we started to see metallic paints and wheel surfaces darken under the clear coat. Hydrofluoric acid is also notoriously known to react with glass. On factory aluminium wheel surfaces, acrylic polyurethane finishes or polyester powdered coatings it will occlude (cloud) an indication that the finish surface has been compromised, it also produces micro hairline cracks, and will eventually fail. It also has the unique ability to dissolve almost all inorganic oxides. In the human body, hydrofluoric acid reacts with calcium and damages nerves, bone, and several organs including the heart and kidneys. It has an NFPA health rating of 3; Short exposure could cause serious temporary or residual injury even though prompt medical attention was given This substance should be handled with extreme care, beyond that accorded to hydrochloric, sulphuric, or other mineral acids Information resource - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrofluoric_acid Material Data Sheet - MSDS - http://www.jtbaker.com/msds/englishhtml/H3880.htm Where do you copy this stuff from (as I have asked like 10 times)? Also your post is nothing new here since this has been talked about years ago on autopia. They (acids) are not more dangerous then most items in your home. Again acids are a great tool (friend) if you use them correctly.
  13. I love it when you need tires and the morons torque the tires to like 500 ft/lbs....clowns.
  14. Nice job! I hate it when little "kids" put the plug-n-play kits in and think it looks good. Finally someone did it RIGHT and looks great!
  15. Welcome to LOC!!!! First is why not spend like1 hour and like $15 and do it yourself?
  16. go to autopia and do some reading. It will only take like days! It comes down to personal pref at some point.
  17. acids are your friend if you use them as directed.
  18. It is not hot, it is the humidity.
  19. Well Power tools have settings on them. I do not use my air gun etc. I use a torque wrench from Snap-on.
  20. I will say this, do not get sucked into the BITOG site pimping products; the site is amazing. I love when "someone" says ARX is not solvant based. Well boys, it is "Lanolino ester" from what the MSDS. That's nothing more than a fancy name for WOOL ALCOHOL. Lord Wool alcohol is made from Methyl Alcohol, AKA solvant. This is from "Toysrme " here; one smart guy on this forum. I agree 100% and Frank said ZERO, nothing, nata , zero on this post on BITOG...Go figure.
  21. why buy a cheap manual from an auto parts store when you haev the FSM book online for free???? If you look on this forum there are many members that have cleaned this (including myself). It is easy.
  22. check this tread out. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...24775&st=75 nice thread but the pics suck.
  23. many people have run kero in oil, seaform in oil, Neutra 131 in oil, B12 in oil, diesel fuel in oil. You are fine.
