  1. I think it's normal for a cold start tranny to do this regardless of the ambient temperature outside. Here in southeast Texas it is almost 90F+ year round and my LX470 and my IS350 do this when first driving in the morning. Not for more than about 5-10 seconds but yes a "lag" from normal temp driving.
  2. Dang that's bad. I get better in my LX470. Is the computer telling you that you are getting 15mpg or have you calculated it yourself? How many miles on her?
  3. If you register youself and your IS on the Lexus website you can look at the owners manual from there. Register here.... https://secure.drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/home
  4. Seems as if it could be a loose or damaged caliper mounting bracket on the rear maybe causing it to stick, or a damaged brake hose that has a deteriorated lining and doesn't let the brake fluid return to the master cylinder....or could just the the master cylinder itself that is malfunctioning. I'd let a dealer check it out before you have an accident.
  5. I'd worry more about your APR and length of the loan for the total price you will end up paying for the car. The dealer that gives you the lowest price doesn't always have your best "interest" in mind if you know what I mean.
  6. Correct me if I am wrong but I do not think any of the LX470's offer the back up sensors. Just the rear view camera. Can you post pictures of the sensors you see? Maybe it was an aftermarket job. But then again I see you live in Mongolia? Maybe it is different than the U.S. model.
  7. Honestly the entire LX470 line from 98-07 has not changed inside and out very much. Lexus might give you a different part number for the "updated" part but I don't see why it would not fit on your truck. The engine has virtually remained the same with a few additions of VVTi minimally increasing HP, and the transmission changed from a 4 speed to a 5 speed. I would bet the exhaust parts would still be interchangeable. But I am totally unsure but I think you have a good chance of it working. Let us know how it goes!!
  8. I'd say the next best place would be a Toyota dealer. They have the OEM parts for half the price; and the IS does not have any "specialty" parts that a regular Toyota car does not have. (Like the automatic height control that is on the LX470. Some dealers are unfamiliar with this system and were mistaking the AHC reservoir for other reservoirs and putting in the wrong fluid totally destroying the system.) At least this way Lexus should still honor the warranty at a Toyota dealership in the unlikely event they DO screw up your car.
  9. Is it not possible? :(
  10. Does it not work when locking or unlocking or both? Just at random times?
  11. I guess they were "checking" to make sure it was working properly and that it is "ok" and has no issues.
  12. I am curious as to how you got the roof rack off while it was wedged against the roof of the garage. It seems that even if you took screws out it would still be wedged? Would it have been easier just to load the truck full of junk to lower it to get it out of the garage?
  13. Ha honestly I do not know if it is visible on the LX without taking things apart. It would just seem like some sort of scheme for a dealership or independant shop to tell you so they can charge for labor.
  14. Yeah good luck. Mine is acting up on my drivers side. Dealer quoted front door lock actuator at over $500.00 for the part alone. I have been searching ebay and such sites for possibly getting it cheaper with the part number (629040 - 60081), but with no luck so far. And the ones I do find they want about the same amount. Plus the shipping I might as well get it from Lexus. Here is the site for a DIY fix for very cheap. Somewhere around 6 dollars. If you are a DIY kinda person!! Let us know how it goes. http://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruiser...eplacement.html
  15. I guess they put it where they did so in case anyone is unsure of it being done, no one has to charge the owner 1500 dollars for labor just to "look" for the sticker under all the parts.
  16. Maybe it's just a Texas thing!!
  17. That's just stupid. Hopefully your call to corp. will get them in trouble.
  18. I guess you must have been riding in a crown vic before with 4 or 5 subs with each its own amp in the truck not to be satisfied with the stock system in this car. I get plenty of bass in the drivers seat with the bass level at less that half.
  19. I only know the answer to the question about xenon headlights and the answer is NO. Never have they even been an option on the LX, or even the GX for that matter. The new LX570 does not even offer them. I do not know why. BUT I hear it is because the trucks are high and will blind other drivers. But all the other large SUV's have HID's as a standard feature. I would not buy a new 570 for that very reason. But you can do like I did and get an aftermarket kit. Easy plug and play installation. I have also upgraded my wheels from the 06-07 http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=53607
  20. Yeah that is kind of strange that it would go out. My first car was a 92 Accord that had 130k on it before the clutch was replaced. Unless they can prove you were racing, I think you might be able to get it replaced without costing you.
  21. I do not think it would make the car accelerate on its own, just flood the engine and or waste gas. If it were me I would let them keep it until it is fixed. Though it is more expensive to get fixed at a Lexus dealership, it would usually be the safest place for it to be. AND you get to drive around a new car while they work on it. Try doing that at your local shop. And hopefully you still have powertrain warranty and it should not cost you a thing.
  22. Get your tires road force balanced. This will fix the problem. Even with a mildy bend wheel. They can usually place weights to compensate for a bent rim. Way better than free spinning balance they do at cheap places like discount tire.
  23. I have a LG Dare. Works perfectly. I can even wash my car outside in the driveway and leave my phone in the house and it STILL will connect to my phone and I can recieve and dial out calls.
  24. Replaced under warranty with no questions asked!! Yay!!! :D
  25. Really? I find it the best stock system I’ve ever heard in a car. Check your bass settings. I honestly couldn't tell the difference in the ML system vs. the stock system. It doesn't "hit" hard but has way more than enough resonating bass.
