Finally Pictures Of My New Baby

Well I do not know that much about tint. I just went to a local place here in town called Classic Tint. They did the entire car for $194.00 even with a lifetime warranty. But I can tell you what was on the ticket.... Solar Guard Charcoal Series automotive window film from Bekaert Specialty Films, LLC. Front side windows = HP 32 Charcoal Rear side windows = HP 32 Charcoal Back window = HP 13 Charcoal Maybe these numbers will tell you something? I just went to the store and picked which one I liked the best!! ;) AND BY THE WAY...STERLING MCCALL LEXUS HERE IN HOUSTON WANTED $500.00 TO DO THE TINT....I LITERALLY LAUGHED AT THEM. -
I wouldn't tell the dealership what happened. Just go and tell them it stopped working for no apparent reason....so you can get it under warranty. They rape us enough with the cost of regular maintinance.

haha I know I know, the front ones are starting to turn really yellow :/ especially the drivers mat! I like the look of just having carpet but I don't want to take a chance messing up the carpet itself. I would like to get the Lexus mats but the dealer told me that it would be abt $120!!! I think that's a little high for mats but idk, what do you think?? I just put my car in a car show at my school, Campbell University and I took them out and it looked so good :P BTW, I won the class for best modern!! Another win for Lexus :D $80.00 dollars each for LX470 and IS350 on EBAY from Park Place Lexus Of Grapevine, Texas!! You other guys got ripped off!

Stock Wheels Vs The Upgrades
NicLX470 replied to vwgto's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
I have a new IS350 with the 18" wheels. VERY smooth and quiet. You will not be disappointed. If you have not been in a new Lexus lately...you need to. -
That is strange. I do not have a problem like that with my LX.....doesn't the 07 have dual a/c so the passenger and driver can have different temps? Or maybe you should just adjust all the air vents pointed at the passenger seat! But then again here in Southeast Texas we see little cold weather. If the temp drops below 20F it is big news.

Valves Replaced On Is2006 Awd

What kind of gas were you using for the first 17k miles? With the same report in your area it is probably crappy gas. If I were you I wouldn't go to Sunoco anymore.....i've never even heard of them. Try Shell, Texaco, or Chevron. (I use Shell V-Power) It's expensive but for a good reason. Not to end up where you did. -

Racket, have you figured out the problem? -
On my LX470 it has the snow button and in the manual it states the truck will start off in 2nd gear as to not place so much torque on the wheels causeing a spin on snow or ice. That is pretty much all it is used for. I would assume it would be the same for all Lexus models. But with all the VDIM and traction control and such...you should probably never need it unless you like to drive with your foot on the pedal as far as it will go. But we got 6 inches of snow here for the first time in 30 years and I went driving around in the LX, trying to see if I could get it to loose traction and it never did...and I did not use the snow button. It is AWD like your IS250. But it's alot heavier so who knows. Try it out one time!

New 8.1 Version Nav Update Is Out

Yeah me too! I guess I will get my mechanic to install the wire that lets you do all that stuff while in motion. -

Let me explain how version 8.1 works and then you guys can tell me if it is different than the 06-08 models. Above idle speed it will lock out things such as your favorite places and will not let you enter destinations unless you use the voice command or it is an emergency. Which is only good if you know the physical address of where you want to go. You just say "address search" and then, state, city, street and blah blah blah...you get the picture. You can also use the voice command and say something like "nearest Mexican restaurant" and it will show you the closest but will NOT give you the list of all Mexican restaurants unless you are at a stop. BUT if you just say "Mexican restaurants" it will show all Mexican restaurant POIs on the on the screen and it WILL let you use your finger to scroll on the screen so you can find a Mexican POI and you can press it and it will take you there. Which is stupid that it lets you scroll through the screen rather than giving a name list. Searching for a Mexican flag is much more involving than giving a simple list. Same thing does for the bluetooth for the phone. You cannot manually input a number when the car is moving unless using voice command; which is easier anyway to just speak the number. It has yet to misunderstand numbers that I have spoken. The only thing for the phone you can do while driving is press "phone book" and it will let you select who you have stored in your phone. All in all I do not know if this is a "better and upgraded version" like I have heard people talk about. So if you guys have any specific questions about what will work or not while driving; just ask! I will try anything once!! -
New 8.1 Version Nav Update Is Out
NicLX470 replied to smooth1's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
I got a 2009 IS350 a few weeks ago. It's version 8.1. But I would not know the differences in the maps and stuff, I only drove an 06 once as a loaner for a day. -
No car that I, my mom or my dad has ever owned leaned before to where it is noticeable. (Except my LX470.) So maybe all cars are not exactly even at all 4 corners but should it be so off that it would be noticeable when you are not really paying attention? And though I agree that is may not really be a problem but just an annoyance. ;)

What a bummer!!! Well at least maybe you can get the fog lights changed to HID's!!

Low Tire Light (again!)
NicLX470 replied to racketcollector's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Don't know if this will help but that happened to me when I first got my car even before I drove off of the lot. And the service manager checked it out and the TPMS was set to "2nd set" Which means that you can program a set of winter tires or anything of the sort. So it always will think they are low because they have not been set into the system. I guess see if they are set to "1st set" using the switch next to the interior light dimmer switch...which I think is called a satellite switch. -
I thought that was an in cabin air filter?

Mine does the same. In the driveway I can see that it leans and points down on the drives side. Anyone firgue out the problem or have the same problem? <_<
