So wait.... the navigation does not continuously navigate for you like other cars? I am picking my lexus up on monday and it has nav, but might be disappointed if it does not work. and about this hack.... do you have to enter it everytime you wanna use or just once originally? Everything works while the car is in motion but you will not be able to input new addresses and other navigation options while driving unless you use the voice command. Radio and most of the other stuff will still let you input on the screen while driving. It's really not THAT bad.

Fantastic!! Glad you got the problem solved!!!

Interesting A/c Filter Issue
NicLX470 replied to Floater's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
I would say before doing any of that work, disconnect the battery. -
True, but that can be done simply by placing the transmission in neutral. The condition described in the book has specific maneuvers to electronically disconnect the drive axles, which is apparently not accomplished by simply placing the transmission into neutral. This poses a challenge to me! B. Most likely it is only for service issues then. Possibly there could be a reason for it. Regardless, every 4x4 vehicle has a neutral position, whether they want you to use it or not. Don't lose any sleep over it. It's just one of those things........just like the speedometer reads up to 160mph...but you will never get it there. I have a large diesel motorhome and would like to tow the 570 four-wheels down. If the neutral position truly is neutral, it would seem that this is possible...except for that pesky little note saying that towing behind a motorhome is forbidden. Thanks for your input. B. I know. I'm sure it would not hurt it. But i'd ask a tech as the service department why the manual states not to. It seems silly that it would hurt it.

I hope you are right. What kind of tires do you think would be the BEST for this truck? I have the 18" from the 06-07.

Yes I have a link to your website and will buy from you when they go!! You need to frequent this forum more often. You're one of the few that reply for the LX470 that know what they are talking about!!

I wasn't able to tell on my own. The dealership had to figure it out but they never had a problem. Happened 2 times and has been fixed right the first time in just a few hours.

I've been thinking a lot lately about my LX470 and its hydraulic suspension components. I've heard a few people say that the parts typically last about 10 years or 100k miles. So now my truck is 11 years old and I have 98k miles on it. So I am dreading the day that the parts start to crater. Supposedly the reason the accumulators fail is because the rubber diaphragms fail due to the stress of the increased pressure of fluid being pushed in and out of the accumulator. So in theory if you keep the setting on the "comfort" level and stay away from "sport" then the fluid should flow more freely causing the accumulator to last longer right? Being in sport mode will not let as much fluid in and out of the shock making MORE pressure while in comfort it would flow better with less pressure. What does everyone else think? When have your suspension parts needed to be replaced and how much did you pay?

Updated pics!! Got the LED tail lights from 06-07!!!! Also mine is a 98 and wood steering wheel and navi were not options then, i've had these for a while and finally got some pics!! The tail lights are new!!

09' Lx 570 Help! Static Through Bluettoth All Of The Time!
NicLX470 replied to JMalone's topic in 08 to 21 Lexus LX570
You ARE going to sound like you are far away, it's basically like speakerphone. Unless you can find the microphone and lay on top of it. I have verizon and have a LG Dare. Works perfect in my IS350. -
When brake discs are cold you sometimes will hear the pads grabbing them when you first press on the brakes. It's normal. Usually stops once they are warmed up.
-
I would just take it easy on the accelerator and keep an eye on the temp guage on the dash. You should be ok.

I had a similar problem with my LX470 and it was not the suspension parts at all, it was the CV joints that needed replacing. Have you checked those?

I chose the Lexus over the BMW because BMW is sort of in a way cheating or taking the easy way out in terms of the competition. Instead of making a new or bigger engine to compete with the 3.5L of the Lexus, they just decided to add twin turbos to an existing 3.0L engine. IMHO having turbos is like cheating. If you can't take the time to build a strong naturally aspirated engine then don't even bother. You can add enough turbo to any engine and make it fast, so what. Because if you remember the 2006 330i only had 250hp or something like that. So when the new IS350 came out...they were scrambling for a quick and easy fix to compete. And besides that, I got navigation, back up camera, heated and cooled seats, HID headlights and a ton of other options for a sticker price of 43k.....if I added all of those options on the BMW the price was over 50k.....no thanks!! I don't know why BMW keeps getting first place in all the car magazines I subscribe to. The editors try and make up excuses for the reason they always win trying to state they are not biased and state the handling is just so superior they always win. But c'mon, they aren't THAT great of cars in comparison. I'll take my IS350 any day!!!

Need Owners Manual For 2007 Lexus Is 250
NicLX470 replied to Lexus_Speed's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
What are you talking about? The above thread is the page to login or register your Lexus so you can look at the owners manual, no matter what year your car is. The pinned threads contain the PDF's from the owners manual as well. . :D You're referring to a post, not a thread. Don't make Bartkat's hard work go to waste: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=25999 My bad. I still didn't see the pinned thread until this post. -
thanks for info. i just found out that i was on gear #4 not on gear D and my suv dose not have OD button. Yes that's my bad. I was thinking of the 98-02 models have that feature. But glad you figured it out!

I'm sure in emergency situations like if it were needed to be pulled up onto a flatbed tow truck, you would need all 4 wheels to spin freely.

Make sure OD is turned on. It should be a little black button of the left side of the gear selector.

What Should I Expect To Pay...
NicLX470 replied to Felicia N's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
Well--you shouldn't show up at the dealer without other financing ready to go. Coming in there and relying on their finance guy is just telling them you don't want the best deal. That takes all the fun out of it. Usually when I get the new car itch I build it online to what I want, go to the dealership and tell em what I want to pay and if they cannot help me I just leave. They will usually keep calling you with a lower and lower price. You have to act like you really don't want it. -
Computer is saying so, but my needle is moving rather quickly, so I'm tending to believe it. It has 47,000 miles on it. Wow. First I would fill her up and drive till very emtpy and calculate yourself. If you still get the same results i'd take it in to the dealer. Could be a number of things....one being a bad 02 sensor but you should get a "check engine" light for that. Something else that might not trigger a warning would be a clogged fuel filter. Other common culprits are worn out spark plugs and plug wires, dirty air filter, mass airflow sensor, brake caliper or cylinder not fully retracting. A short list of the many possibilities. But with 47k miles I would bet it would be the fuel filter. These other problems tend to be with waaaaay higher miles. Thanks. Since you mention the brake cylinder not retracting, I actually have been noticing a lot of brake dust. I just cleaned my wheels a week ago and they are already covered in dust. I have booked an appointment with the dealer since it's still under warranty, but I'm still curious as to what the heck could cause this. It's no problem. Let me know what you find out! And yes the IS has a known problem with brake dust. If I do not clean mine at least every 3 days they begin to look unsightly. I have found myself using the paddle shifters to downshift to help stop the car so I do not have so use so much braking force. But I do believe for the 2006 year model they have a TSB for the brake pads. They should replace them for free and they are supposedly less dusty.
