  1. LOL you kidding me? You could by a resistor at radio shack . After all that we said and you still believed it. If it works it will be only for a day as the ecu relearns.
  2. It is fine for learning in a controlled environments with a trained instructor for limits and control of a vehicle you own. Is an rx ready to even be a pit car? Not a chance , it will roll over before it takes a corner at high speed.
  3. Sounds like a leaf in your fan. The step motors control the vents to give hot ,cold and direction of the air.
  4. Have found many a car leak when it was never know ,while using seafoam it shows quite easily escaping through all sorts of places..
  5. If i have ever see a crock of !Removed! it is those pieces of crap ,it is a 3 cent resistor in a box. It makes the engine run richer thinking it has more air ingested. Get a aem or greddy unit to properly do the same thing but according to load ,speed and other factors to make it work properly, BTW it will not work on 90% of modern Toyota's as they have self learning sensors and ecu's which change the values according to t what the sensor reads. So it stays in spec longer to changing environments. btw read the feedback where they even say it is a resistor they were sent and it sucks by more than a few people
  6. Jason his problem he is going 4 times what normal speeds you might be going at which makes them show deficiencies.
  7. Change it , i had to replace my water pump 4 months after doing my belt because the bearing went. ALso do the idlers and tensioners every 10 years atleast.
  8. Some of the lower 2 tone colors do not have a clear on them for scuffs and damage they will receive. With out pics it is hard to say but any detailer can let you know the easiest way to fix it.
  9. red tops a not really worth the money the yellow is great which i use for all my cars, other wise Kirkland from costco is dirt cheap and can be replaced for free every year without getting it checked.
  10. moved to the meet and event section.
  11. All depends on the rims and its size other wise if your suspension is old it will have a balance problem from them having more weight.
  12. Well my take on it is Brembo and your LS is that a GT package or touring pack from them would be a step down in the braking department. You already have 6 pots up front an dual in the rear. All you would need to do is add dot 5 fluid, SS brake lines ,a set of Brembo OEM replacement rotors and drill and/or slot them as well as adding a set of project Mu pads if available also. I am not perfectly versed in the 430 braking system but all it needs is slight upgrading not overhauling as it is a very good system ,it is just trying to slow down an elephant.
  13. The next major event should be in Atlantic city this summer
  14. I would repair it and put it back . It has a lot to do with cooling the engine , aerodynamics noise suppression and protection of engine components. also reducing strange animals from finding a warm home.
  15. Use some seafoam to look for other cracks or damage in the exhaust.
  16. Not bad for that cheap . A little more finishing on the primer and it would be perfect. I will definatly say it is a nice colour and a great job for the price as i have seen worse for more money. Good job and props for doing it yourself.
  17. The grille is made of a tin type alloy to keep it from rusting. It is also impossible to weld on. I am not really feeling the grille in that way ,maybe painting the insides will make it flow better but the way it looks right now it just sticks out like a sore thumb. If it was only the slots or just the surround it would look better in my style of things.
  18. add a switch and you can have the changer to it still
  19. You need to clear the code from disconnecting it with the battery still connected. I know there is a procedure to do it by grounding a wire on the terminal harness on and off somewhere on the site.
  20. Toyo tires have always been one of the best riding ad lasting tires.
  21. It is free and easy to fix ,with pics in the other threads
  22. You may have slight vibration issues on the new rims but the suspension can handle them , The old ones may be balanced but out of round so only a hunter road force would find the issues. Vibrations are basically caused by worn suspension components allow the wheel to travel out of it allowed play . This included worn shocks which cannot keep the wheel planted with only a light amount of balance issues. So a bandaid is to get a better balance but finding out if you have worn parts if the cure.
  23. It may be sticking ,try spraying a lube in the lcok mechanism for a few days straight to loosen any debrib Another way is to make sure the car is runnning to give the lock full power to release and then keep pushing down and up on the trunk lid while someoen else pulls the release as it may e sticking or the latch is breaking inside.
  24. try adding some green slime to the line and it should find the leak. it worked for another member.
  25. wow ,i am still shaking
