  1. if you can see metal then it need to be repainted usually about 350 for both doors above the lower trim it isn't unheard of that some nuts key cars for tons of stupid reasons like tehy think you dented there door they think they know you and dislike you and the best is when a person parks like a moron and takes 2 spaces over in a packed lot or simple can't seem to be able to center there car in bettween the lines who knows sorry to hear though
  2. i am not sure why you want to know if the belt is rubber? personally erplace it with a toyota original part only i had my first timing belt to 120 000 km then changed then 30 000 km more and the pump went so i changed the belt again with the pump as it has to be removed anyway the belt is supposed to be 90 000 but that isw toyota being very cautious it should be able to go 150 000 but i wouldn't push it especially if you do run the car a bit hard as tehre is alot of strain on the belt the first 1mz-fe engines are non-interferance meaning if the belt goes the valvedo not cause any harm to the pistons but once the vvt-i came along it was supposed to change all that so i might say 120 000 km is a good time to change it and the pump if you are good at doing the belts then go ahead
  3. hmmmm i never actually knew there was a real use for armour all interesting the white grease i usually get comes with a small nozzel like wd40 so it can be concentrated in a small area or crevice it might help with the overspray effect of the can
  4. glad you founf the problem and even more glad you posted a solution many people ask for help but it doesn't help anyone else if they don't share the info with the community thanks
  5. i guess lexus owners are lost with out the LOC lmao glad you enjoyed the aftermath i still think it would have been more fun to tell them but i am a bit confrontational for fun
  6. white lithium grease is the pro choice it stays in place and gives a good buffer layer i am not sure how bad it is noise wise but give it a shot then after a week if it isd still there then think of getting the door readjusted
  7. i query the thought that the hid's that are oem use a 9000 or h rated socket i am pretty sure it is its own animal but i have been wrong or else it would be an easy swap for many people to change if not equipped besides the leveler
  8. with the right amount of bondo anything will fit i have seen the kidney grilles for bmw on tons of other cars and they look horrible just a matter of taste like i love chrome rims on a luxury car but would never do that to a sportier car like my civic or even a supra and ferrari whcih i have seen and think it is just nasty looking but hey some have mroe money than sense
  9. that grille is a labour of love i hand built it in abuot 7 hours of forming sheet metal and some bondo to smooth the edges the lower lip when made will have the same style of tip to it as well then i just place a black grille behind it and it was done i am going to restyle it a bit though and smooth the top edge of the tip off to give it a smoother look
  10. vip is one wicked mag i love it even though i can't understand a dmn thing as well as options both are what gave me my inspiration to do mine i was and am trying to get the jdm vip style to my kit with the smooth edges there are older issues that do have a grille and a few other parts out there look for a guy named kumo in japan he has a windom and a few nice touches including a gorgeous front lip from a company called pront look for him and you might have your ace in the hole then you can try and set me up with the company lol good luck
  11. yah i guess there is no real need i am just over cautious but after hear a few other same milage lexus they have alot more upper end ticking from the valve train so i am going to support the difference on the over all wear reduction i also got lexus to do my last oil change 2 days ago using 10w 30 synthetic
  12. my turn my turn lol 1 the beam is directed so it will not fill the whole projector just what is needed i might use goo gone also or a good wood cleaner like pledge or orange glo there is a sensor in the roof if you remove it then the sunroof would not know it is closed and then would not let the secondary tilt up curcuit allow it to then tilt get a motorvac change your plugs and clean the throttle body i get almost 600km to a tank inmy es but i have a cold air intake and exhaust
  13. hmm i didn't notice the toronto part before did you just add it to the location? welcome fellow sars member lmao glad to let you know you can feel safe leaving your car unattended with an alarm already in it
  14. well as long as we all learned something i didn't think any one was being argumentative just staying with one world of thinking i belive in evolving i always like to mess around with things just to see what the out come is but i am not too sure if i want to do this with my toy congrates on the anniversary jhauck to me the temp differnce of the coolants boil temp is good enough a reason for me just like i use synthetic in my engine and power steering plus my tranny i want my baby to last as long as she can without me paying to fix something so the btter it is the more i am going to use it all i kow is green can be changed to red but not the other way for reasons of some seals not being compatibale i doubt there should be much problems with over heating uless you live in an extreme climate i didn't want to add to more frustration that is why i didn't want to post again to this thread but it seems like everyone has come to being on the same page just depends on which path you feel will give you a higher yield over time red or green :D
  15. the drop in goes right where the stock one goes just remove and replace
  16. one more thing short pipes ( not ram as there is no air being forced into it) are a waste of time and power plus milage they do nothing for the engine and its performance but rob it ,by sucking in hot engine bay air see if you can return it the stock air box is much better than a crappy intake like that one spend the money and get a cold air one or nothing else
  17. i am not sure but did you make sure the sensor in the intake was properly attached? as this would cause a stumbling of the idle and other driveability problems also contact aem and see what they can tell you for tech advise on the system
  18. sorry i also forgot to mention the wires were slightly corroded and brittle yes i upgraded all the wires leaving to 4 gauge and used gold terminals on the ends and new battery post connections i basically used a friends audio shop supplies if you look in the es 300 gallery i have pics of the engine bay in there
  19. i am guessing you aprove of syn todd lol it is the best and works great its flow rates alone are good enough for me to want to use them i have them in all my cars and it keeps them, working great i use 0w -30 winter 10 -30 in the summer when new and after 150 km i switch to 15w 50 summer and 0w 50 winter these are hard to come by rates of weight but the added benifit of them are tremendous especially where i am in canada we get hot summers and cold winters and i want only the best protection all year for the rest of my cars life
  20. i have around 4-4500k i can't remember 6000k should still be usable digi pics never show a true rep of the light but as long as you like them and of course the road is much brighter now i am sure the kit looks like a good one and the ballasts have a small casing so it is a pretty good looking one congrates it says 9006 but i can't see the plug but as long as it is stated you should have no problem with 3 minutes of plug and play
  21. the light may get set off unless it is intermittent then it wont realize that you are pressing the pedal look for the gap in the intake or a problem with the maf sensor in the intake tube as it seems more likely there
  22. the lights aer just normally like that i keep them clean but i have the 94 version not the 95-96 which have a different plastic that does tend to yellow there is a product i got from meguires called scratch x it seems to work well and is made for plastics and glass that are clear i wanted a clean look so i removed all the badges 2 years ago and filled the holes the kit is hand made using a trd for 97-99 camry as a base for the style and tehn remoulded
  23. usually it is the alternaotr not giving it enough juice all the time especially at idle so over time the battery is not kept at optimum voltage causing failures i went through 4 batteries and now have zero problems now that i replace the bat with a optima deep cycle and replace the terminals( just for look) but the main change came from the wires as i upgraded the main ground and starter positive wire now the car starts way faster and i have more power in the engine and stereo as well
