  1. the ribbed thing is a wire loom they are all over the car and are made to have a spilt down the mddle no problem there when checking an air filter hold it up to a light if it doesn't let alot of light through then it won't let air in either sounds like you are on track
  2. you obviously do not drive the rx much it must get wet often and left to dry possible outside alot? in that case it can rust more than usualy as the moisture attracts to the bare metal and rusts away as it does with any car but if the car is driven a bit it will keep the parts drier atleast
  3. lots of thing to do look in the club gallery for pics or visit one of our approved vendors for parts remember you have an inline 6 from a toyota supra very similar to the twin turbo one ;)
  4. which computer try and be more specific?
  5. actually i don't have them i have a performance buisness in toronto and my one of my distributers is having a problem even on his sponsered jic cwest rsx which is track, raced but rarely the mount for the lower shock to the arm is braking off at the welds he mentioned it has happened to a few other cars as well not on the supra sc specific ones though but unless it is in writing that they will replace it if it breaks then don't get them i am not ttrying to hate on them as i love the ride of the jic's especially to the more harsh tein ones any retailer will say "oh no that is not true" but then they should have no problem in puttting it in writing right? if the retailer does then go for the jic
  6. thanks that sounds pretty good i guess you used the kiwi type stuff
  7. get the one from the dealer as the car is brand new i doubt any will be floating around cheap they are expensive but well worth it
  8. if he said it drove like an excel then it wouldn't go anywhere pirrana you are joking in deniying the villager being a nissan , right? ford uses a different tranny fluid called type f if you put in a dexron fluid tranny it will cause real hard shifting not sure on long term problems with it but many a tranny have been replaced because the wrong fluid went in and could have been changed easy enough but who knew
  9. is this when parked and just revving the engine or driving or both
  10. what is bg moa Been Gone Missing On Arrival ? i like mobil 1 syns are similar there are high end ones but not sure on there responses to temperature i guess do a search of consumers reports of synthethic oils
  11. yes just look at the top of the es forum if it isn't in that thread then ask but then it probably is not done yet
  12. hey i would put jic on my wheelbarow they make a real smooth ride but until they fix the shaft problems i would tell no one to buy them as they then try and blame the customer for agressive driving which caused it to break and they won't supply an new coilover sorry but that is not a company i stand behind what else are coilovers made for but not agressive driving? especially for 2 grand they damn well better stand up to abuse compared with even a ractive piece of crap on ever low to the ground accord and civic
  13. on the SC it has been proven to be less powe rthan a modified stock air box iy is all about r and d i have done enough of it in variations and have seen leaps and bounds in gas mileage performance and a dyno chart over other camry's which have the same engine and tranny also the ones i put together seem to lose the mid rpm drop of torque i guess just my luck
  14. as i have nothing i can add to this thread it is a really commonly asked question so might as well make this the official stupid 02-03 ES 300 tranny thread i'll pin it so everyone sees it first i think there are like 5 of these same thread floating around
  15. ok i am not too sure on the 92-93 but if it is anything like the 94 and up the starter wire is very short maybe 2 feet real easy to trace i replaced mine and now the car starts perfect and runs better
  16. tokico does make struts for the car as well as kyb
  17. i would suspect a bearing pin on the drive shaft also is it when stationary or driving?
  18. it usually does do that but some break and still have contact so they let pwoer go through just not fullly just like a broken wire
  19. i prefer the jic but they are having problems with the mounts on the shaft breaking off so i would go for the tein instead
  20. if you are postivaly sure you terminal are good and clean plus snug and the starter and solenoid are good also then it might be the fusable link in the starter wire or just the wire
  21. hard shift are one of 2 things there is a blockage i the tranny for the torwue convertor or the throttle kick down adjustment is out of spec get them to look again and say you shouldn't have to keep paying for every bad diagnosis they are usually rpretty good with this stuff and also leave feedback in the dealer feedback section
  22. bbsal i would say something is wrong with the cars mine won't let me do that nor on any other ones i have tried in canada makes no sense to me i do have starter kill on my 94 :( :(
  23. it could be dirty on the inside but it just may be pitted on the lens caused from rock chips on it
