  1. Interested in seeing the outcome here. I had the same issues. I bought new winter tires, had them mounted and balanced, and had a steering alignment done. The shaking went away, however I still had very moderate small amounts of head shake when I applied brake and low speeds. If I applied the brake with some force, the head shake wouldn't exist. Only if I applied the brakes in moderate/steady application. I had new brakes and rotors installed. However I recently had my rear struts replaced. I was also advised to probably at some point change the front struts. I was told that there was cupping on the front tires. Perhaps if enough weight is being pushed on the front end when struts are bad, it can cause this head shake when braking. I'm not sure, but that is my on opinion. I'm not sure if my rotors are warped etc. what do you guys think?
  2. Well Steviej, we had a look at the car, found out that the bank 2 sensor 2 was replaced, but it was not put properly. You could pull the sensor how by hand !!! So we tighten it up real good. THe engine light went away. FOr a day things were great, then the engine like went back on! I decided to disconnect the battery to reset the system, that worked but after 3 hours the engine light came back on. DO you know how to reset the system? Or could there be another issue?
  3. yes in fact the headlights calibrate at start up. I'm starting to think that perhaps your right about the dealers comments about the sensors being bad. I'll have to adjust the rear sensor and see if that helps take the dash board light away. I have about 82k miles on the car. So I'll find out if in fact the sensors are bad or not. what exactly is the parts called in case they do need to be replaced? I want to be able to make the purchase of the parts on my own by researching online. I know the dealer qouted me at $364.00
  4. I'm getting a light in the dash that says something is wrong with the engine. the code that comes up says the bank 2 sensor 2 needs to be replaced. MY brother had one of his clients fix the issue, and he actually purchased the bank 2 sensor 2 part. The light never went away. I finally decided to take it to the dealer, and see what they came up with. they came back and said the bank 2 sensor 2 needs to be replaced, despite me saying it was already replacced. I'm really confussed, because this part isn't cheap and I dont know weather the dealer is BSing me, or the client that did the work didnt do a good job, or the client didnt know how to reset the system so the light would go off. any help?
  5. I have the same issue. The light on the dash comes up saying that the lights need to be adjusted. Or Reset. I had lexus look at it and find out what the issue was. They came back and told me the Height Sensors were bad and both of them needed to be replaced. Would the dealer be aware of the issues you guys brought about about adjustments needing to be done when suspension work is done? Not that I have had any suspension work done, but my rear right side wheel has a strut that needs to be replaced. Would this case the hieght sensors go out? Sorry I'm not that informed here about tech stuff, so go easy on me!
  6. There has been alot of "rumors" and project cars that would somewhat represent what you might see for the future 430. I highly doubt the 430 will give you 405hp with only a 10k increase on overall MSRP. Why lexus would wait till 06? I dont know, I bought my IS new in 02, and even then there was rumors of a 430. BMW will most likely introduce their New M3 in 2005, and I hate to say it, but thinking about going for one of those depending on the body design for the 05 which to me will be a risky considering I'm not a big fan of the new BMW look. The M3 MSRP's at 45k, so if Lexus is considering keeping the IS300 model and giving options of an IS430, then I would assume at least a 45k tag price with guessing no more then 350hp's. Nonetheless, I'm really hoping it is released in 05, as someone else already mentioned, its really lacking, and to release in 06 would be a not so good option. The competition in this category is already far ahead of the IS300. They need to make their move soon. I really hope this rumor of an OPTION IS430 rather then a total REPLACE of the current IS300 kinda worries me. I'm not looking to spend money on a upgraded version of the current IS300, I want an IS430 that is completely new from the ground up, no updated versions of the current model.
  7. since you have driven the is430, can you tell us anything about it, how close is it to actual production? if it will debut, when do we except it available here in the US? have thought about getting a BMW M3, would I be foolish in doing so with the IS430 rumors floating around? I do love my is300, and the lexus services, but man, the M3 is far more superior. any info would help.. can we see some photos of this is430?
  8. hello everyone, I bought a new IS in 2002. have the graphite gray color. I'm big into sportbikes, but when it comes to cars I have had a hard time finding websites that sell great body work, rims, accesories for the IS300. Looking to take my stock car and making something unique... and suggestions and photos of what I might want to do with my IS300?
