  1. I need this info. Can you email me at contactrogan@gmail.com ?
  2. Ok...thanks for the info and for the hint.
  3. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A mechanic replaced the 02 sensor, but the engine light came back on after we reset the code by removing the negative cable from the battery for a little bit. After driving about 3 miles the code came back on. Is there a diagram I can see to make a reference and make sure he replaced the right 02 sensor. The part was ordered from a lexus dealer.
  4. I am a DIYer and couldn't see myself handing over 50 to 80 bux for something I can do in 15 minutes. However not everyone is a DIYer obviously. There are good and bad mechanics everywhere. Lexus has them both and the little mom and pop shops have them. Find a reputable mechanic with a company that will warranty their work. Pretty much common sense. In the summer months I won't touch my car b/c its too hot, so I go to jiffly lube for oil changes and I bring my syn oil. I also watch the entire process, because you never know what you might find them doing or not doing. For warranty work I would definately go to Lexus, but I will find out who is working on my car and personally speak to him. If I have a bad vibe for whatever reason for example he seems to be rushing me along or something I will let management know or possibly get my car to another dealership. Speaking to other mechanics to find out if a particular mechanic is something I do also. If I find that it is hard for the mechanics to edify the one in question that is pretty much a sign that he does a rush job. And that has personally worked for me in the past.
  5. The 1st one is my favorite choice. I change rims pretty often, so I dont need something really expensive.
  6. Which rim for my 2003 Lexus GS 1. Size (front) 19x8.5 Size (rear) 19x10 2. staggerd like the first 3. staggered again like the first 4. 18x9 all four or 19x9
  7. I left some important info didn't I? :chairshot: I have 2003 GS300. What is the widest tire I can get without rolling if that is possible on the 19x10
  8. One or both of the rear wheels make a weird noise after driving a little. The best way I can describe is like some coins are spinning in the rims. The sound is consistent with the spead...the faster I go the more I hear the noise in rotation with the tire. When I apply the brakes the noise disappears. I am assuming it is the the brakes are heating up and then something is happening. Never happens when I first get out and drive...takes a little bit for it to happen. And in reverse I don't hear the noise. freaking weird. Any ideas?
  9. And would I need to get the lip rolled with the following specs? Size (front) 19x8.5 Size (rear) 19x10 Offset 35MM-F, 35MM-R Bolt Pattern 5x114.3>
  10. Test drove the with very little gas and the engine light and VSC light was not on. The salesman put 89 octane and the light came on. We went to find out what code it was throwing and it was p0057. We cleared it and it came back a few miles later. I filled up with premium tonight. How long do you think it will take to clear or do I have to disconnect negative cable from battery? If so ..for how long? And why did the VSC turned off light come on b/c of this code?
  11. Search the Gs forums, There is a wealth of information there for you to read/study. After your 7-9th thread you will have made up your mind. So I will welcome you to the club on an early note. You won't be disapointed with any Lex. You will make the right decision. ;) I guess you were right. I didn't get the 96 GS300 however. Instead I got 2003 GS300. Engine light came on after we put 89 octane in it. The TSC light also came on. We checked the engine for codes and got p0057 02 Sensor circuit low. Dealer agreed to replace sesnsor when I am ready. I'm thinking the code will go away when I put premium gas. I always put 93 octane in my z28 and from chevron majority of the time. Once I got the code after filling up with 93 octane from Citgo. The code stayed for 2 - 3 days. It cleared itself after I put half a tank of 93 from chevron. My explorer was finicky like this also when I had it. It was a 94 and I never saw an engine light. I always filled up with 87 octane, but every few months I would get horrible knocking and pinging outta no where. Soon as I go fill up with 93 from chevron all the crazy knocking and pinging would disappear. Only thing that I don't understand is why the TSC OFF light came on also.
  12. It's a 1996 w/147k. I will obviously get a carfax report and call a dealer to see if its been serviced. It cost 4950 cash or 6950 finance(put 2k down and finance the 4950k). Anyway what are known problems for this 1st gen? I don't know jack about these cars. I know about the ls1 engine for 4th gen camaros/trans am....the engine to me is bullet proof. So tell me about the engine in this 1st gen.
