  1. I agree ,tie-straps are much easier to affix the leather to the seat over hog pins/clips. Depending on the damage you could get the affected areas changed on all of your seats if they correspond and do a mild 2 tone so it would match nicely.
  2. iacv and a/c idle control are fouled. You need a throttle body cleaning.
  3. I have a wired FM modulator but said screw it as i could use the tape adapter with out it being seen in my car. The audio comes out cropped badly so it sounds really choppy . I have perfect reception in my city and the tape adapter is the best solution other than an aftermarket deck. BTW dc ,i removed your email address from your post above.
  4. I would use lysol not febreeze for the A/C or spray 9 which is deadly to smells.
  5. Make sure you wax the blade and clean it with soap and water often to remove film and debris.
  6. There is? what is it called?
  7. I like the line up on XM but the audio quality stinks. It is the same reason i never got into mp3 and ipods. I hate poor fidelity.
  8. they don't make one for an LS though
  9. Sorry , i should have clarified. When i said blockage or flex lines that are weak i meant in the front braking system . By having increased pressure up front you would have more pressure out back causing the rears to apply more pressure to the pads than the front. As a normal rule of thumb you should normally replace the rears every other time you replace the fronts. Also make sure the rears are not sticking either.
  10. You definitely have a problem if you burn through rears faster. You may have a blockage or in need of replacing the flex lines which may not be transferring the hydraulic pressure . When did you bleed the brakes last? Also make sure the pistons are lubed when doing the brakes as well as it may be sticking on the front.
  11. the stock amp cannot reproduce deep bass notes.
  12. I have had it for 5 or so years. I find 90% of it boring as hell. I wish it had more to do with the damn cars and its owners. I don't care about some chef going to thailand to make froglegs. So far the best article that interested me was about team Lexus then all the owners and what they do with there cars.
  13. Actually the OEM rotors are not painted but cadmium plated. This coating is just a heat treated barrier from the iron/steel rusting. When you do see rust on OEM rotors it is because the brake dust has embedded itself onto the coating and that dust is actually rusting not the rotors. You don't need deep grooves just a nice bevelled edge for the slotting which prevent banding on the pads surface. Too deep slots will degrade the structural integrity of the rotor. This will cause the rotors to succumb to heat easier and warp. Brembo also coats there rotors as do some aftermarket companies. Painting them is a band aid solution that never looks or lasts as well.
  14. Never heard of globe. Solar guard llumar 3m are the better companies to use which will cost in the 200-350 range. Otherwise a tint in the tri state should cost $99 for a good tint
  15. Easiest way to find one is to turn the turn signal on and feel/listen the clicking on the relay.
  16. No fuel changes yet that i notice. I also have thrown any chance of having clear data from that as i modified my exhaust system with a freer flowing mid muffler . So any data returned is going to be a combination with no clarity. Sorry. I also did not care so much about mileage as it could only be a factor of 1-3% tops. Which the mileage can vary that much depending on what kind of lunch i had that day. Well the refills are free if needed , as well you can convince Costco to do it also.
  17. The dealer needs to program it , should be done for free.
  18. It does not stay closed because junk is blocking it. You need to remove /clean and grease it. It is easy and uses just a flat head screwdriver and a Phillips ,both located in your Lexus tool kit. Put the car in neutral or 4/d , engine off. Close the cup holder as much as possible ( use a helper to keep it closed in the other seat). Open the lower armrest then place the flat screwdriver and lift up on the wood close to the cup holder on the vinyl. Do both side of the wood to pop up. The lift the wood and pull towards the rear of the car to release the other 2 clips by the ashtray. Move it to the side to expose the underneath. Here is where you want to have a vacuum and Windex as it will be dirty under there. Undo the 4 Phillips screws and lift up the cup holder . Clean it and remove the junk blocking it. Luckily you asked today so it is fresh in my mind. I just did my friends car today and it had some unspeakable things in there including a Bluetooth earpiece he lost.
  19. Just means you need to swap the leather over to the new seat ,or atleast just the back support part.
  20. Yes, i had it done for $20 for all 4 so $5 each tire. I threw them a 20 and said forget about the invoice as it was just hot air ! :) I had it done at a place in Mississauga on queensway by dixie.
  21. There is a difference ,that i can prove! My wife even told me so. :)
  22. Sounds like a great plan. But don't buy a LS430 . Get a LS 460 for her and a LS600 for yourself. Well ok i am dreaming ,but it has to start somewhere.
  23. What model radar detector? It sounds like problem with the unit itself.
