  1. What!!! no heaters? My 02 has got them. Did yours have the premium package? HID, rain sensing wipers, wood steering wheel, etc. I thought seat heaters were a standard feature. oh well. enjoy the new ride. Make sure the dealer takes care of any TSBs that haven't been. Major ones were front brake pads and rotors, rear door noises, moonroof gasket and cowl noise. steviej
  2. remove the right tire and the splash guard behind it. The PS pump is easier to get at this way. steviej
  3. joshy, ALL of your questions have been experienced, discussed and almost solved by many a thread before you. take some time an use the SEARCH function 1. lextech.org 2. get someone that knows electronics and use of a volt ohm meter to diagnose. Maybe a broken wire, may be a connection, my be corrosion. 3. read the "pinned" thread at the top of the ES forum about clearing corners. There are instructions about how to remove, separate and reseal the headlight lamps. 4. tons of suspension problem threads and suggestions, just use the search function. 5. 6. I think your year car had an additional key fob that had the buttons. 7. $135 is a good price from anyone, but keep in mind it will be a rebuilt or remanned. It should come with at least a year warranty. 8. The stalk is a cheap item and an easy fix. Search on antenna replacement, directions have been posted several times. welcome to the club and enjoy the ride. steviej
  4. blake, that would be "idiot" :D :P speedshift, I take it the car did not come with a manual. If not, register yourself under the owners section of lexus.com and you can request a free one, or call 1-800-25-LEXUS, press 4 for customer service and then request one there. steviej
  5. the button is there on the 98, its there on the 2002 and it is there on the 2005. most like cause, too. steviej
  6. EXACTLY. 56,400 on my 2002 and climbing!!! Get out and enjoy the ride. steviej
  7. I think the high beam indicator is blue. Do these lights mean your headlights or fog lights are on? I have an indicator light for both of those. steviej
  8. enjoy your new ride, but if it were me, I would have left with the salesperson and GM's name in hand, bought elsewhere and then sent a nasty letter to Lexus corporate. steviej
  9. blackdog, see that little box that says "CARD" below your information box. A member just has to click on that, then click on the "send email link" and they can send you a secure email through LOC. The message is automatically sent to the email address you registered with. This way you don't have to post your email for all to see. steviej
  10. I am thinking fuel pump, which is in the tank under the rear seat area. steviej
  11. I just ordered 2 pair of the Stealth bulbs. These are the silver bulbs that flash amber. They range from $25-40/pair depending on the bulb type. My ES takes bulb type 7440 for the signal bulbs. I will post up pictures as soon as they come in. I expect them the begining or next week. Do a google search on "Stealth Bulbs" PIAA also just released some bulbs called "Mirror Orange" you can find them under the Bulb page of www.piaa.com These only come in 1157 and 7440 configurations. According to the picture, they still look orange to the naked eye, so I don't know how well they will blend in to the relfector dish or the side marker housings. steviej
  12. nothing works well in the extreme cold. steviej
  13. or better yet: a 1992 ES with 250,000 miles on it and needles that still light up. good stuff!! steviej
  14. EDIT: why are you in second gear in that pic? ← my guess would be so that he could get both needles completely in the picture. :P steviej
  15. may be just that the rubber in the tires is stiffer at those very cold temps. This will effect ride smoothness. steviej
  16. that's how I always remember it. :whistles: steviej
  17. why not run it yourself? :whistles: It's less than $15. steviej
  18. SCHWEET!!!!!
  19. here is a link to a thread in the IS forum that discusses a similar problem. It appears that this has happened before. steviej
  20. camlex, that is total speculation on your part and very much not true for all notherners. I put close to 20k miles on my ES each year. The mileage is the same each month so it is not like 15k in summer and 5k in winter. Rain, snow, or shine I still got to go to work. steviej ps, and as for the roads, they are crappy the entire year.
  21. if the 92 speedo was mechancal, then it sounds as if it is the speedo cable or gear in the tranny. if the 92 speedo was electronic, then it may be the speedo gear or sensor in the tranny. steviej
