  1. Yes, that is a good price and American Stitches does a GREAT job. Well worth it. For the donor wheel, basically ANY steering wheel from any car will fit. The way they mount is fairly standardized. I know people who have used Chevy wheels etc. No reason to pay more for a used Lexus wheel.
  2. I personally wouldn't use the Nevr Dull on the wheels unless I knew exactly where they came from. The Nevr Dull is a great product for cleaning metal, it can't be beat. However, certain chrome wheels (Like the ones Lexus uses from the factory) are actually clearcoated like the paint, and the Nevr Dull will destroy the clear coat. I would try and use a claybar, a strong paint cleaner etc before I would try the Nevr Dull.
  3. Go ahead and get the rotors turned (resurfaced), thats probably the issue.
  4. Wow, looks legitimate, and I dont put anything past the government... I'd buy them now, good pricing, why risk it?...
  5. The price on the Sparkplugs is rediculous. Probably could have gotten them for less than half at Toyota. Thats a good hint for next time, but EVERYTHING at Toyota ;) As for the changer, its entirely possible that the thing is just fried. I had similar symptoms on my Explorer on two seperate occasions, and the changer had to be replaced each time. Think of it this way, now you can go buy yourself a better changer to replace it!
  6. Definately 2005
  7. Also new wheels on the 03, as well as the addition of different stereo facings, Mark Levinson premium stereo in the 03, Nakamichi in the 99. The grille is also different on the 99. The navigation system on the 03 is worlds better than on the 99. Basically though, Joe on the street couldn't tell the difference.
  8. I may actually try to make them myself. Hell, what is there to loose if I f' up, a couple of $3 amber wedge bulbs? Here's the link on the how to, with pictures from www.is300.net http://www.is300.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13326507 I think they look fantastic.
  9. My dad's 98 has 140k, never a problem. His Cadillac had 65 or so when he traded it, and it was falling apart.
  10. Here ya go http://www.eur.lighting.philips.com/automo...lvervision.html
  11. My dad had an STS before he got his LS400..... There's no comparison, the LS400 is 100% more car. Ride MUCH better than the Caddy, RWD vs FWD, better powertrain, MUCH higher quality, MUCH more reliable, better performance, more prestigious image. Its just no contest. He says it best "After driving the Lexus, driving a Caddy again feels like driving a Chevy".
  12. Aewsome, and they're right here too, in Washington DC. Thanks so much I've been searching for a place to do this!
  13. Actually, the Woolite works good for cleaning carpets too, same as the leather LOL. Not as good as the Nature's Miracle though. And I've always been tempted to buy myself my own steam cleaner. One day :D
  14. Steve, I may have an alternative for us. I've found a couple of other companies that make bulbs similar to the silvervision. When I find one that looks reputable, I'll post it.
  15. Goooooooooooooooooooooood! :0
  16. Here are the C_BEST settings for the ES, they're similar for the RX:
  17. They SHOULD NOT charge you, these are called the C-BEST settings, and they are SUPPOSED to be provided as a free service to owners. Report a dealership that tries to charge to Lexus corporate.
  18. Yep, sure can. You can buy them at www.lexus-parts.com for around $170, they come precut all you have to do is program them with the instructions. I love the all in one key, beats having two seperate peices on the keyring.
  19. At some point here I'm going to track down those Silvervision bulbs and swap mine out.
  20. Yep, thats it. You confused the shift computer. You push the gas, it says "what?". If you's been smoother with the gas in and held it about 3/4 instead of all the way down, it wouldn't have happened.
  21. I read that too Alan, but I read it after I already had the car, made me feel better LOL. "Phhht, I'm such a smart guy for not getting THAT crap!" ;)
  22. Never mind, yours is a 98. Unfortunately your lamp housings are amber. In order to do this you'd have to replace all the lamp housings.
  23. Its really simple, just buy the bulb you like, then swap it out. All the color is included in the bulb.
  24. Wow, a REALLy rare one LOL. I know of one other like that, on the cardomain site in the same color as mine. I would have pressed them, but I'm leery of adaptive suspensions, they're really expensive when they fail.
  25. Actually I have heard problems like that with the RX' tranny now that I think about it. Probably smart that you bought the warranty LOL. Hell, $7800? I'd have told them to keep it LOL.
