I agree that silver is a great color, classy, yet sporty. Its about the easiest to care for, hides dings, scratches, and dirt like nothing else. My only qualm with it is it isn't as striking as a dark colored car when its clean, they reflect more.

The fuel injectors and the throttle body being dirty were caused by running too low an octane gas, use only premium in the future to keep that from happening. I always use Exxon, mostly because I have a Speedpass thingy and have never had any problems.

And also, the engine is actually designed for nothing lower than 91 octane, thats premium gas not mid grade. Mid grade is usually 89.

Actually frames like that are ALL OVER Ebay for real cheap, that say Lexus with the logo. Search for "Lexus frame"

I've had my dad's 98 to 150, very stable and smooth all the way up there. I also agree, nothing scary.

From what I understand, the only changes will be the badge and the engine with a minor freshening coming the next year. I have an 03 300, and I was a little dissapointed with the performance at first also, but honestly (and steviej will back me up here) now that I've gotten used to how to drive the car, it has plenty of pep. You dont want to floor it, just give it good steady throttle. I've heard the 330 will be several thousand dollars more expensive too, being priced closer to the RX330 to put more distance between it and the IS300. So, I say drive an 03 300 and see what you think.

Don't like the looks of that one though. I personally prefer it when the spoiler only lights up. I'm kicking the idea around myself, but I'm kicking around everything pretty much ;) I really like the looks of Steve and Alan's.

sk, I've always been told to be careful with synthetic on older engines because of leakage as the old sludge is cleaned away...

Well, we've already done the favorite year ES poll before, but the colors are new ;) I just have to make one correction, the ES does not come in "Black Cherry" it comes in "Black Garnet Pearl" which is what I have. The black cherry is lighter and more purple, its available on the LS and the GS, but not the ES. The Black Garnet is an ES specific color. Its my favorite, second is that Mystic Sea Opal, I think the new ES looks fantastic in that, but its mostly found with the ivory interior and I can't stand that. Then I like the blue, but same problem, only ivory. I like the previous gens in black, but not the new one, I feel black needs some chrome trim on two toned job to look good. I'm a huge silver fan and originally wanted silver, but I am somewhat dissapointed in the Millenium Silver vs Lexus' old silver, Alpine Silver. The Millenium has a tan hinge to it that doesn't appeal to me.

Nope, not that I know of. The kit is a bulb retrofit that replaces the 9004 bulb, it also includes a ballast that powers the stystem/ "6000k" is the color temperature, that is, the color the bulb gives off. All stock systems are 4100k, 6000 is more purple, 8000 even more so, hell they even have 12000k units out there. Anything over 6000 is useless though, they coat the bulbs making them give off less light.

Well, HID lamps go yellow when thy're about to go bad. What brand was your upgrade kit? Try taking the bulb out and seeing what color it is on its own, try switching the bulbs side to side and see if its just that lamp that is yellow, or the bulb itself. Could be buildup in the lamp.

The jack on the LS sucks too, and its a bigger heavier car. I haven't tried mine...

My dad's LS400 has no compass, its a 98. I've driven it on a few trips, end even just around town, I always really missed the compass.

Don't worry, I still can't make it work and I help run the place LOL. I actually use www.imagemagician.com, its free and allows linking with the IMG code. Actually, the burl on the inside is not part of the aftermarket kit, it comes that way. The burl on the outside however, is. You may be able to remove that by the way, you dont seem to care for it...

I actually use the hell out of the compass and really miss it when I'm in a car without one. However, the nav system sort of makes it useless I suppose. I wouldnt worry about it, I drive up into NJ and NY all the time and don't calibrate it, never have a problem.

Actually, if its the only one in the US, they will deal with the CA dealership.

Yep definately Nak ;) As for having the image pop up in screen, the only way to do that is to save the picture to the LOC gallery first and link it.
