Well I think I'll try the silvervision bulbs, I'll post what I think.

But removing the bulbs did remove the yellow from the lamp when the bulbs aren't lit? Where can I get these new silvervision bulbs?

It also has to do with what region you're in also.

And as for the functions of the navi being disabled when the car moves over 3MPH, you can fix that, but you have to install a switch, and it involves extensive rewiring.

Personally I think the GS430 is a great sports sedan. As for Acura vs Lexus, in all honesty, there is no competition. Lexus makes some of the highest quality, most refined, most reliable luxury cars there are out there. Lexus continually tops longevity and quality surveys. They have the best customer service in the industry just about. Acura on the other hand, continuously nips on Lexus' heels. The cars are shoddily built (at least when compared to a Lexus, BMW or Merc) they have low quality interiors with fake wood trim. The TL even has vinyl on the seat facings! Their flagship sedan is FWD with a V6! Acura is a great car, but I dont consider it a tru luxury car like a Lexus is. Most buyers dont either. A lot of the market and consumer testings show that Acura is more commonly cross shopped with Toyotas, and normal Hondas, while Lexus is cross shopped with the big boys, BMW, Mercedes, Audi etc.

The all new GS is supposed to be out in 2004 as a 2005 model.

Stern, I'm going to try and make your post a new thread, hang on. As for the green lamps, yep the LX, LS, GS, and RX have the green tint, but the ES IS SC and GX don't. Explain that one? ;)

Whenever I have service done, from Lexus or wherever, I always check all the fluid levels right there in the parking lot before I drive home. How clean was the fluid and when was the last service done? I'm sure the tranny is fine if it drives okay.

The 95+ LS has the two tiered console which is designed specifically for the cell phone. My dad's 98 LS has that phone, but he had it disconnected a couple of years ago because the analog service was so expensive. We've tried to find him a system that will run the modern cell phone through the speakers, but we can't. My 03 ES also has that console, and I've also been looking for a similar setup, with no luck. Lexus does offer one, but its $2500 (the phone). My guess would be go to a junkyard and try and find the upper console armrest, it and the two doors are all one peice. Honestly though I dont know how well it'll work.

Sheesh Steve lol, thanks for posting that. We should save it in the FAQ. Now, the silvervision bulbs idea I like, in fact I may even look into that.

They're coming out with clear lights, but they have to blink amber, thats the law. Personally I think white or other color blinkers are annoying and ricey, but thats just me. Are you sure there's no amber in the lamp housing itself??

Do you have a Carmax locally? I reccomend you take the trade there and they'll buy it for a more fair price.

Well the Dunlop SP Sport 4000 are one of the OEM tires on the car, but you can do better than the entire Dunlop line.

Rain X is okay, but I find that it streaks and smears under where the wipers pass. I prefer to just use a claybar to get the windshield totally clean which makes the water roll off. I'm going to try a product called "Aquapel" soon though that is supposed to be much better than RainX.

Certain components on the LS are hand made, like the wood leather steering wheels (takes 3 weeks to make one) but on the whole, the car is and has always been assembly line and machine made. Either that salesman has really bad info, or he just didnt want to take it on trade and lied to you.

We're supposed to se a facelift and some new equipment for 04, probably a new front fascia, new rear lights, new wheels, some new colors, some changes to the interior. I haven't heard about the CL package, but thats very possible it tends to be a slow seller.

2004 will be the ES330, but there aren't supposed to be any changes other than the engine.

The Michelin's are good tires, I have them on my ES, but there are smoother and quieter tires out there. The Contis I mentioned are supposed to be both smoother and quieter. Plus, almost all Michelin tires are rediculously expensive. You have to be careful when buying tires for the LS especially because the ride is actually very dependent on the tires. Just adjust the air pressure higher or lower a couple of pounds, it makes a huge difference in the ride. The ride of the LS is easily spoiled by the wrong tires.

Yes, I definately reccomend full glass coverage, its very inexpensive and WELL worth it. An OEM windshield for the Lexus is..............very............expensive.

Not going to fit for a couple of reasons. One, you'll need to buy the airbag module from the 00/01 (99 had no leather wheel), and that will cost a lot, unless you can find it new. Two, the 00/01 has second generation airbags, meaning they employ a two stage deployment algorithm, the system on your 92 is not compatible. What I reccomend is www.american-stitches.com they do a great job. You buy a cheap wheel to use while you send yours in, they completely recover it in leather and add the wood. All at a good price. Check it out.
