  1. If the enclosure is really only a foot square thats not a big deal, I just really don't want a big honkin enclosure in the trunk. I think I'll swing by the place I had the Sirius radio installed in the '03 and see what they think...
  2. It also depends a lot on the geography, around here you never see chrome wheels, in CA for instance every luxury car has chrome wheels...
  3. Brembo is a manufacturer of high end race-directed braking systems. Brembo brakes are included in the Sport package on the LS, you also see them on Porsches, BMW M series cars, and Mercedes AMG cars
  4. Plus a pump issue is going to cause overheating, but underheating. I say Thermostat as well...
  5. Hey all, I've come to the conclusion that I want to upgrade the stock subwoofer in the 350's audio system. The system overall is okay, it just doesn't have any depth and I'm thinking a new sub would help some. I don't want to spend a lot, and I don't want to do any serious modifications to the system, not really too excited about putting an incasement in the trunk, I'd really just like to take the stock sub out and put a new one right there in its place, and still be able to adjust bass controls through the audio system. Any thoughts?
  6. Not a whole lot you can do, switch to ceramic pads, but you'll loose some of the braking efficiency.
  7. Personally I think chrome wheels are a little out of style...
  8. It look at toyotanation.com...
  9. I mean...its a sensitive electronic and you need to be careful with it. With touch screens its a balancing act between making them rough and tough, and making them responsive to touch inputs. I don't see how Lexus can have any responsibility for you scratching your screen with a cloth. You may want to try a very fine plastic cleaner like Plexus and see if you can repair the mark...maybe talk to a professional detailing shop and see if they have any ideas. Otherwise, PM user dcfish he sells nav screens and units...
  10. LOL, I don't think the GX'd get done in 30 mins!
  11. Nice to hear someone who understands...few and far between...
  12. Just visualize lol
  13. The MXV4 Plus is an outdated tire that is no longer manufactured by Michelin. It was replaced with the Primacy MXV4. I have had both the Plus and the Primacy MXV4, and the Primacy is MUCH better in the snow and ice. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Primacy+MXV4&partnum=155HR7MXV4P&vehicleSearch=true&fromCompare1=yes&autoMake=Lexus&autoYear=2010&autoModel=ES%20350&autoModClar= As you can see the tire is highly rated for snow and ice.
  14. This is true. I talked to someone about a house...so I did my part for the day!
  15. I would absolutely take you up on that!
  16. Let me clarify this, the MXV4 S8's are not great tires. The Primacy MXV4 is a completely different tire and is an excellent tire. I agree that the squealing is just a characteristic of those tires...
  17. Damn you and your attention to detail! I didn't even see that... I'm going to send Darryl at Sewell an email and see if that really is the case or not, I remember the DVDs used to say dealership installation only as well...
  18. Paul A posted this in the General Lexus forum too. Its important to note, that over time a carwash with anything that touches your car WILL scratch the paint. They're too harsh and they don't get cleaned. I agree that they are better than not washing a car at all, but they are no substitute for learning how to do it yourself and purchasing the right tools. I can wash my car in 30 minutes, about the time it takes to drive to the carwash...wait in line, let them towel it off, and come home. The end result is much better, safer, & cheaper. Touchless washes won't scratch, but they use harsh soaps that strip wax, and they don't provide you a clean paint surface. One thing people don't think about is hiring a detailer to wash the car for them. They can do it at your home or office, and sometimes only cost a little more than a tunnel wash...or even the same amount...
  19. Anything from the LS will fit, probably anything from the GS or SC as well.
  20. LOL, you know me, I'm a slacker!
  21. Are you certain the AWD car sits lower? Generally they sit higher. On the GS...the AWD car sits higher...same for the LS. Anyways...thats life. Products are constantly being improved, and you just can't wait for the latest thing...because once you have it...there's going to be another latest thing coming around the bend.
  22. It is, but they don't typically rotate in the spare.
  23. Mine was never like that...
  24. Its not bad. Using an automatic carwash is better than not washing at all, but they all over time will damage the vehicles paint, they're simply too harsh and rough, and the strips that contact the car aren't cleaned often enough. The only truly safe way to wash your car is to learn how to safely wash it yourself, buy the appropriate tools and products...and do that.
