  1. Sorry to hear about your brother in law... As for the seats, to me the seats in the 2010 are an improvement over my old 2003...which were also excellent.
  2. Yeah but one of wind power's drawbacks is not dead people and cancer, birth defects for generations...
  3. The ES holds 6 quarts of oil. Mobil 1 synthetic is like $7.25 a quart at the cheapest, if you do the math thats $43.50 just for the oil, not including the filter, disposing of the old oil...at the end of the day we're talking about them changing oil for no profit whatsoever. This sounds like a situation where the salesman, who has nothing to do with service by the way and probably knows less about what the service at a Lexus dealer costs than we do, talking without actually knowing what he's talking about. I would be *shocked* if the Lexus dealer would change the oil with synthetic for $55. You should call the service department and ask them.
  4. Sure...the Enclave is a nice vehicle, and its really a weakness that the RX doesn't have a third row IMHO. The Highlander has a third row...
  5. Thats if you have the Lexus Enform service as an option, and continue the service beyond the free first year.
  6. Battery in the fob. My mechanic told me that Lexus specifies to replace the battery in the fob every 10k miles whether the customer requests it or not as part of the bundled 10k maintenance package to avoid dealing with complaints about this issue.
  7. All of those options you mention (Lexus emblem on headrests, pinstripes, solid chrome grille, chrome wheels & gold emblems) are dealer add on "accessory" options. Lexus never provided those options from the factory.
  8. With traditional buttons.
  9. You can only get the Lexus Enform service with the nav system. You also get the backup camera.
  10. I think they'd do very well in such a test. Comparing Buick sales to Lexus sales really isn't a fair comparison, Buick sells less expensive cars than Lexus does...
  11. Yep, PDR works great...
  12. One big thing about the Hyundai warranty people don't realize is that its not transferrable to a second owner. The second owner winds up with coverage similar to a typical warranty... Thats how they get away with offering such a warranty. As for the prestige issue, to me its not really about impressing people...its more how it makes me feel about myself. Driving the Lexus home after a 12 hour day like today...it feels like an accomplishment. When I pull up to a listing appointment in it, people automatically take me a little bit more seriously than if I were in a lesser car. Its really a part of who I am, it makes a statement. A Hyundai...however nice a car it may be...doesn't make that statement. So, if I'm going to work my !Removed! off to drive a $45,000 automobile...I can't bring myself to make it a Hyundai. Here's a question for you, 5 years ago you had that Sonata loaner, that would have been before you bought your ES350. Why didn't you buy a Hyundai instead? Granted...the Genesis didn't exist then, but the Azera did...which is similar.
  13. You can always count on me! LOL
  14. Nice! Good ol Verizon...
  15. LOL! Get this...my Mom still uses AOL...DIAL UP.
  16. We're really terrible people for thinking this way...but one of my first thoughts was "I wonder if any of the Lexus plants were affected..."
  17. There are some members who own the HS, check out the HS forum on here. Personally, I don't see the appeal. It drives and rides just like a Prius...so why not save $13,000 and buy a loaded Prius Five? The HS has been a huge sales disappointment for Lexus.
  18. And if you don't open a door it will relock itself after 30 seconds. As for those of you using AOL. Its not 1999 anymore, get with the program ;)
  19. I looked at all the same cars before I bought, as well as the Cadillac CTS, the Acura TL & the Infiniti G37. I'll just compare the ones you've asked about though. To me the best car in this class is the Hyundai Genesis. You get RWD, a V8 if you want it, a bigger car with arguably a better quality interior. Handling is better than the ES but it doesn't ride quite as smoothly. The downside is that its a Hyundai, honestly. You don't get the brand prestige, you don't get the dealer and support experience, and you don't get the resale value you get with the Lexus. The Buick is also a nice car, but personally I hate the interior. To me its a mess of cheap materials, fake wood, unneccisary angles and bulges trying to look modern...in a Disney World Tomorrowland sort of way. Nothing elegant about that interior vs the interiors on the Genesis or the ES IMHO. The car rides and drives well...similar to the ES. Again...you don't get the brand prestige, dealer experience, or the resale value you get with the Lexus. At the end of the day, driving a "Lexus" is a symbol of the hard work I've put in and the success that I've gotten back out of life, and I couldn't bring myself to trade my Lexus in on a Hyundai. Is that small of me? Probably but its the truth. Have you driven them? What do you prefer?
  20. Yeah...I totally don't get your point. Why would you expect that you would not be responsible for damage done to the dealer's property while its in your possession, whether that property was loaned to you for free or not? I agree...the issue here is not the Lexus dealer...they are a damaged party same as you. Its the other driver and his insurance company that are the issue. Had you been in your own vehicle, you'd be in the same situation. Just because the loaner is provided to you at no cost doesn't mean you aren't responsible for it when its in your possession. Do they not teach these things in school anymore? Personal responsibility for one's property, or the property of others when they let you borrow it?

    Homelink

Best thing to do is go to www.homelink.com and download the instructions specific to your vehicle and your garage door opener. I have never had luck with the manual's directions, but the directions from the Homelink website have always worked fine...
  22. Could be...I'll have to get under there and see which side the bend is on...
  23. Oh yeah, for sure. Its not a true dual exhaust, ahead of the rear axle it goes to one pipe like most transversely mounted engines. So its got to be in the muffler...
  24. But moisture does come out both tips...its just the moisture on the passenger side is clean...
  25. The number moniker after the model code in the model name tells you what displacement the engine is. ES300=3.0L engine ES330=3.3L engine ES350= 3.5L engine So currently the ES only comes with a 3.5L V6. The car did have a 2.5 back in 1990 and 1991 when it was the ES250.
