  1. I don't know if Steve will be willing to doit but I'll help ya out, just let me know ;)
  2. lol. I don't know, a BMW is something every car guy should own in his lifetime.
  3. So apparently if you have dirty brass monkeys (I know I hate that!) and yellowed headlight lenses Brasso's the product for you!
  4. The 400h will have everything the 330 has and more. As for the batteries they're arranged into the undercarriage and I suspect they won't impede in interior room based on my experience with the Prius.
  5. Just thought it would be an interesting poll. I kept my previous vehicle about 5 years and I was itching to get out of it for about a year and a half of that. I'm really happy with the Lexus though, happier with every mile and could see myself driving it for a long time, providing I keep out of the Lexus dealer's showroom of temptation...
  6. I'm a little nervous... Mine's going in for a whole lot of work, the moonroof TSB, the windshield cowl TSB (thats a clicky rattle too) the catalytic converter TSB, I've got a belt slipping at startup and they're going to investigate the clunk in the steering at low speed PLUS the ordinary maint. Letting the dealership loose on it always makes me nervous.
  7. Got the Valeo blades installed, they're the same blades BMW is using. So far I'm real happy with them, they wipe great, don't skip even at high speed and are REALLY low profile, you can't even see them down in the cowl whereas you could see the old blades. I'm happy with them, don't know about $80 happy but that will come when we see how long they last.
  8. Didn't "get us", its always been reccomended that headlights be replaced as pairs. HID headlights are more expensive to replace but they usually last much longer and you get the added benefit of the light output vs normal bulbs.
  9. I don't know guys, I love my Lexus but lately the BMW 545i has been looking awful appealing...
  10. Why is it bad advice? Metal polishes generally do a fine job of cleaning up yellowed headlight lenses.
  11. Yep, when I wash it its clean for about 10 miles.
  12. You also need to replace both bulbs. HID lights deepen in color as they age and one new bulb will look *very* different than the other older bulb.
  13. So decided against it huh? What happened with the rattle as a result of the moonroof TSB? I'm having that done Wed.
  14. But YOU see the little streaks and chips, thats the problem. Most people wont notice, but you will trust me.
  15. Yep, dump Verizon. They crippled the bluetooth features on their Bluetooth phone to force customers to use their pay per use services to transfer data. As for Sirius, Lexus is coming out with a fully integrated Sirius kit for the LS (just like the XM kit) in Feb. Its worth the wait.
  16. I really like the RX330s too steve, I always ask for one when mine goes in for service. I'd love to have one and could drive it happily every day. That said though, I'm always pleased with my ES when I got back into it. The RX is nice, but the ride of the ES is nice too ;) Before you talk pricing take a spin around the block in your ES.
  17. Looks great! Might want to add that 98 was the first year for optional nav, 16 inch wheels were slightly changed in 2002 because of customers being dissatisfied with the 2001's 16s.
  18. LF, Oh no I didn't mean that you were suggesting that they were ripping people off, I mean't that you didn't suggest that they were even though you elected not to use the dealer. Confusion was my fault, sorry about that.
  19. 99% of swirls are caused by improper washing. Most people simply don't know how to wash a car properly. Most people use sponges they shouldn't use, don't rinse their washing media throughly or often enough, don't pre-spray, use old hard rough towels to dry. Keeping swirls away is pretty easy when you know how to wash. 1. Always use a high quality wash mitt, sheepskin, chenille, microfiber. 2. Only wash in straight strokes, never touch your car in a circle. 3. Wash from top to bottom, rinsing the mitt every panel. That said some swirls are unavodable. I take ~ 2 hours to wash my car being VERY careful and I still get minor swirling that has to be removed from time to time, but washing carefully will rid you of the bad swirls everyone can see.
  20. Then why are all luxury carmakers pushing the HP envelopes on their cars?
  21. Very nice, its still an Avalon though lol. Makes me look forward to the next ES.
  22. RX- Sales aren't growing like they were, but they're not suffering yet. Analysts still aren't sure whether the slowdown has anything to do with fuel prices or just a shift in the desire of the consumer. Sales of V8 powered sedans and wagons are up and these don't get much better mileage than SUVs in some cases. What has been seen is a decrease in SUV prices, the incentives you're talking about, but actual sales figures remain sturdy, at least for now. Personally I believe that this is the end of the big SUV craze but I don't think it neccisarily has to do with fuel prices. You know more about the fiscal end of it than I do though. wwest- Lexus has shifted its advertisement from economy to power because thats whats more effective when marketing something to the luxury buyer. Nobody has said that the RX400h is going to sip fuel like a Prius, but even if it gets 30mpg it'll be a big improvement over the 330, with more power to boot.
  23. Why does her car sit outside and not yours :chairshot: ← Because my cars the dark color and its a hell of a lot more expensive ;)
  24. If you look all over the Lexus forums though plenty of owners are using 87 with no problems... *I* do still use 93 though...
  25. How do you figure sales are way down? Sales of large SUVs are still brisk, not as brisk as they were but they're certainly not down. The fact of the matter is gas mileage just isn't a selling point in luxury vehicles, at least not on its own. Thats why Lexus is planning to sell its hybrids as the performance version. They could have gotten better mileage with less performance but they decided not to do that.
