There is a difference between being highly demanding and being preposterous. Expecting there to be no charge for everything is not reasonable. Yes they sold you a $55,000 vehicle...and probably made about $1500 from that sale after they paid the salesman. $55,000 is not that high priced a car anymore. It is completely reasonable for the dealership to ask that you refill the loaner with fuel...the loaner they have provided you for free. Hell, even when you PAY for a rental car you have to refill it with fuel.

It shouldn't operate on the 6.1 disc once the 7.1 disc has been inserted...

I can also buy a battery at Autozone or Kragen in the same time and effort I could have the battery tested...

I got your PM too. I personally feel that the Triple Treds are too aggressive a tire for the ES. The Primacy MXV4 would be my choice, I'm very satisfied with mine in the rain but we haven't had much snow to compare them to. The Comfortreads aren't appropriate because they only come in a T speed rating...

Maaco sucks. I have seen many different Maaco paint jobs while detailing and they are all awful, the factory paint is far superior. Repainting the car is a bad idea unless you must and will definately lower the car's value, especially if done at a place like Maaco.

I could believe an 18 hour trip... Remember private drivers, even commercial drivers aren't bound to the laws that govern truck drivers.

Even if you just apply the wax over whatever is on there it will be an improvement, for a while until the wax goes away. Thats what I always did with cars I detailed that had machined wheels that had been ruined by automatic carwash wheel brushes and cleaners, it looks to me like that possibly has happened there as well. Painted wheels hide it, but its really noticable on machined finish wheels like that. Use an thick oily wax, or use your Meg's #7 show car glaze, that will do it really well. They can be repaired probably, but they need to be aggresively polished with a heavy cut compound and a buffer with a small pad. Just make sure to explain to the customer that the wheels are beyond repair and that the treatment you gave them was cosmetic and will be temporary. Yeah that rusting is awful. You live in a heavy rust area but still, you shouldn't see rust like that... It came out great considering where it was when you started!

You can always use the IP address lookup tool you have access to here as a moderator too, it can resolve IP addresses and tell you the location and ISP and it provides emails for abuse and fraud.

How is it impractical? A battery costs $80 and is replaced in my garage in far less time than it takes to take the car somewhere and have the battery tested. If I have a car for 10 years, thats roughly 3 times I have to replace the battery for a cost of about $240. If i have spend hours, and money having it tested and lets say I save one replacement and make them last 5 years (which is a long life for any battery) then I've saved $80 and thats assuming I was having it load tested for free. Or I can spend the additional $80 over a vehicle's 10 year lifespan which equates to an additional ownership cost of $8 per year and never have to worry about the battery failing. I can afford an additional $8 a year. Battery every 3 years means you never have to worry about your battery failing you on that first cold day of winter, or after sitting at the airport for 2 weeks. Seems pretty practical for me.

The Permaplate is nothing more than a glorified wax that is sold at a preposterous markup. You absolutely can and should wax the car. Do you have to pay for the additional permaplate applications? If so don't spend another penny on it...

Costco always says that, don't buy it. I have the H rated Primacies after years of having run Vs and feel no difference at all. If anything the H rated tires ride better.

Cool! What finally took the rust out? For those wheels, I've found a good thick wax will help. Its pitting of the clearcoat and the wax will fill that pitting in for a time...

I would do the mainenances according to the schedule. Its cheap assurance thay you'll never have a problem having warranty work authorized, and when you go to sell it a car with a perfect and documented maintenance history is always worth more.

Why does it matter? I just don't get it, maybe I'm more secure in my masculinity than others but it just would never occur to me to get rid of a vehicle I like because I see women driving them more than men... I mean, are you really that concerned people are going to think you're a woman? Do you look like a woman? I just don't get it...

I replace batteries in my cars every 3 years as a maintenance item. I'd say after 3 years they are unreliable, and after 5 they are on borrowed time. Just buy any battery. My lexus dealer charges $130 to replace the battery.

The ride is stiffer because of the 19' wheels, the batteries have no more to do with it than 2 people sitting in the back seat or some luggage in the trunk.
