  1. I would hope...I wouldn't buy something like that from a place that wouldn't warranty their work for at least a year...
  2. Ho boy...here we go again ;) When you get older, the desire to have something that is "hot" and "new" will be less strong. Part of it I think is that you live with these designs throughout your adult like and they just don't seem "old". Honestly, I don't think the 04-06 LS is outdated at all. I don't think my ES looks or feels outdated either. I still like the looks of the 98-00 LS400. My desire to trade my car in on something else has nothing to do with wanting something "newer", it just has a lot of miles and I've always wanted an LS. I still enjoy driving it tremendously, its in excellent shape. That generation LS is no older in style than your RX. They came out the same year (04). I actually like the way it looks in a lot of ways more than the LS460. I was that way when I was your age...I could never imagine driving something that was outdated, I bought a new cell phone every 8 months, always bought new clothes, new sunglasses. New, new, new. As I've gotten older thats almost dissapeared. A lot of that comes from having to actually pay for things by myself and having other life responsibilities. Having bills and paying taxes and planning for the future and investing, growing a business or concentrating on a career. Working hard for your money makes spending it on needless things just because they are "new" a lot less appealing. If you had to write a check for $31,000 and that was all the money you had in the world, or a significant chunk of it, or you were looking at $650 payments vs having no payments when you had a mortgage, food to buy, etc. I bet your old RX300 would have looked a lot better to you. When I bought the ES I never thought I would drive it for 6 years, never thought I'd be satisfied with something for that long. Well...I have. Again though, gotta be real. You've never bought a new car, or a used car. Or any car. You've had cars purchased for you...its a very different thing. "Buying one now would just be too outdated" "I know the pain of owning something thats outdated from the 2003 RX300"....thats real easy to say when Mommy and Daddy are footing all the bills. Real easy.
  3. You're cool Rey, keep on posting...
  4. That attitude isn't neccisary. If you want to discuss something someone says then do so, but trying to call someone out like that is uncalled for.
  5. I made a comment that I was secure in my maculinity and myself so I don't need a car thats the ultimate in pristige or have a desire to denigrate other people's vehicles, it was a figure of speech. The point of what I said has nothing to do with !Removed! sizes of African Americans or anybody else (how do you know I'm not African American? Although thats beside the point)...obviously I wasn't the only person who was bewildered by your post. Even now...it just doesn't make any sense. The word "!Removed!" is not a bad word...however posting racially charged or focused posts is against the site's posting guidelines...and your post was off topic and in poor taste. The warning stays, when a moderators removes something you've posted...leave it removed. Back on topic. If you want to discuss this further, PM me.
  6. I wasn't talking to you bain ;)
  7. Any cleaner designed for automotive plastic will be fine...
  8. I think you can initialize up to 9 sensors (two sets of 4 & the spare) for the TPMS system, so thats not an issue. As far as the chrome wheels...I don't know if I would even spend $700 on a set of aftermarket chrome wheels. I've seen too many problems with the chrome plating bubbling and causing tire inflation issues, even when they are used with a set of rims for the winter. I'd look for a place locally that will stand behind their work...maybe ask your Lexus dealer.
  9. The duster is probably your best bet, or if you clean it I wouldn't wipe it dry, make sure you use a cleaner...
  10. Thats always a weird feeling I bet. I've never encountered any of our old cars...at least I don't think I have...
  11. You could have bought an LS. I'm looking at them now. $28k-32k will put you in pretty much any 05-06 LS you can find under 45k miles. Not an LS460 no...but the LS430. I've never bought a used car before but I've pretty much decided that I'm going to buy one of these. I just have to wait for the right one to come along.
  12. Yeah I totally don't understand your post 2007GS450h...is it some sort of humor that we just totally don't get, or is it a racial slur? What does race and male member size have anything to do with the subject of this thread? And in the future, when a moderator edits your post and removes the content DO NOT republish the same post. I have issued a warning against your account and if it happens again I will ban you from the site. When I or anyone else on the site's admin team removes content from the site it is unwelcome...clear?
  13. $199 is an excellent price!
  14. I'm not saying he shouldn't have his fun, its his car and he can do with it as he pleases. However, if you're going to post pictures of modifications you do to your vehicle on a forum such as this...you've got to accept all the comments, good or bad. Nobody has been rude to him...we've just posted our opinions. He's graciously recieved them too...so I don't know what benefit your continued excuses for him brings. He's handling himself fine. Anyways in terms of the rack, it has a utility. Its a family vehicle, and a family has many uses for a roof rack. Skiing, biking, luggage storage, strapping down a Christmas tree. This bull bar has no utility at all.
  15. May only be a couple bucks, but when you spread that out across the entire production its a BIG savings. Lots of little cost cutting things like that, for instance not using soft touch plastics on little interior bits you don't commonly touch, using imitation leather on armrests instead of real... Thats how they deliver the lower end models at a lower price. Its really apparent when you get into an LS and compare it to an ES or an RX. You don't really notice when you're in the lower end cars, but the LS really has a lot of refinements that are engineered out of the lower cars, and thats to save cost.
  16. That new dash material is a weird material. I'd use a california dash duster... No idea what to tell you...
  17. Do you mean the master remote/key? It should be all one unit. About $150 online.
  18. Actually it is perforated in the LS430...VERY perforated...
  19. Personally I think the Triple Treds are too aggressive/noisy a tire for the ES. I have never had a set on the ES, but they wouldn't be on my short-list of what to buy. I have a set of Michelin Primacy MXV4s on the car now and of the tires I've had on it (Bridgestone Potenza RE92, Toyo Proxes TPT, Michelin Energy MXV4+, Bridgestone Turanza LS-V, and now these) they are the smoothest and quietest which is what I look for in a tire for a car like this.
  20. Nope, nothing you can do but wetsand and that is not something for a novice...
  21. Cool! That I like... Its a cost saving measure...
  22. Even if you know what you're doing its still going to void the warranty...
  23. I don't think the RX400h is poseurish at all...I just thing pretending its a truck is. I love the RX400h. However a bull bar definately says "truck". When was the last time you saw a bull bar on a Porsche 911?
  24. I didn't make it out to Ellicott City today to see that car (stupid business got in the way...oh well guess I gotta pay for the thing somehow) but I did stop at Silver Spring and drove an '06 with 48k miles... dark blue with the tan $35k. Very nice, exterior was probably a B+ but the interior was an A+, its incredible how they restore these interiors on CPO cars. Re-dyed leather...looked brand new. The dark blue is really nice but I definately want something lighter this time. I did decide though that I definately want the tan interior...
