  1. Im glad someone asked about that since i recently replaced my fog bulb and know exactly what to do. The owners manual suggests an H3 bulb i believe and i found the "exact " bulb in Autozone. The bulb I found is the same bulb as in the car all accept for the plug part. The bulb from autozone had a wire at the end to screw it into something. The bulb in the LS has a plug end similar to a plug for a household electrical outlet. I work at the Lexus dealer in Raleigh, NC and called the parts dept from autozone and asked my buddie mike in parts. He also thought that autozone carried the proper part but i told him otherwise. You HAVE TO go to the Lexus dealer and get the Toyota bulb from them unless u can find one on ebay or any other H3 plug matching the one in the manual. either way, it has to have a 2 prong plug end to it. the cost of the bulb from Johnson Lexus is about $30. Hope this helps
  2. well, im 16 and am paying installments on my 94 LS which is $250 a month. my parents took out the loan, i saved up the down payment and I pay the loan off. whenever people think i'm rich, i say "no actually, im poor because i own a Lexus." that helps
  3. yes, 5.9 seconds 0-60 for the '04 LS430 mostly because of the 6-speed auto gearbox.
  4. or u could try that one wheel at a time thing and try to hit it at an angle. this should keep things kosher. also, get out of the car and look at the road where u think the car might be hitting. if theres scuff marks on the road then you can determine if u are scraping. hope this helps.
  5. im gonna have to agree with VMF on that one. as i've said before, i work at the local lexus dealer and drive all the customer cars. gen I is slowest(250 HP), gen II is in the middle(270 HP), and gen III is the fastest (290 HP).
  6. OMFG i can't wait to drive one of those!! :D
  7. suppose it has anything to do with me needing plugs and/or wires? wires are original and plugs i haven't seen yet but plan to soon.
  8. before i bought my 94 LS, i looked up the 0-60 time. i did a search on yahoo and found in several locations that it is 7.9 seconds. i timed 0-60 in my car and it came up to about 11 seconds. how many others can make this 2 ton beast skyrocket to 60 MPH in around 8 seconds? i sure can't.
  9. I agree with 1990LS400. check to see if you have brake lights or using the override wont be your biggest problem.
  10. before i bought my 94 LS, i owned at 94 mazda 626. while i was checking movie times with a friend at the local movie theater, we came back to the car to find a hole in my rear bumper 3 inches in diameter and about a foot into the car. my guess it was a huge stupid truck with a long trailer hitch on the back. i was *BLEEP*ed. tons of bondo and white spray paint fixed the problem pretty well. people do suck
  11. just wondering for the sake of gas milage. know the intervals but i dont know when they were last done. all i need is opinions on whether or not doing this work will improve MPG.
  12. i've always gotten between 12 and 14 MPG (city) and i was thinking about doing plugs, wires, and cleaning my throttle body. i recently drove to california from the east coast and got 25 MPG. does that prove that all that work really doesn't need to be done and that city driving just kills MPG or does it prove nothing at all? you may say that all that work really isn't much work at all but i am poor and cant afford $80 in plugs and $140 in wires. a little help plz?
  13. well, im 16 and i totally LOVE my 94 LS. the LS isn't TOTALLY lux. i mean my car has a set of 4 turanzas and it can really take a turn. also, every LS owner whose foot has ever found the floor knows that the LS isn't slow by any means(exept for from the start.) As for cleaning my lex, i work at the lexus dealer here in raleigh, nc (johnson lexus) and clean my car every single saturday at their wonderful detailing facilities. i love nothing more than getting into my dream car and it being SPOTLESS!! All in all, its pretty safe to say that i am an addict and there nothing wrong with being addicted to Lexus.
  14. about my milage: i had about 158,000 before i left and now have over 161,000 on the car. about smoother ride at higher speed, i agree and also have to say that the tires sort of balance themselves. after stopping for a night and starting to drive again the tires were rather off balance. i guess sitting for just 1 night is enough to make the ride pretty rough for about 5-10 mins of speeds @ around 80 MPH. after that short period of time, the tires seemed to balance themselves! that suprised me. anyway, overall, the LS IS the ULTIMATE road trip car and will always be.
  15. i just drove my 94 ls from raleigh, nc to seal beach,ca. thats over 2500 miles and 40 hours of driving. this car IS the ultimate road trip car! sitting in one seat for any amount of time isn't comfotable but it wasn't bad either. before i left raleigh, i owned was driving this car for about 3 months getting a steady 12-13 MPG (about 260 miles a tank). during this LONG trip, i was driving steady between speeds of 70-95 MPH. every time i filled up, i was getting about 25-27 mpg. those are the types of numbers i like to hear. who else has great things to say about this road hog?
  16. well, no matter whos car it is or if its fake or not, i dont care. ITS MY NEW BACKGROUND!! it looks great.
  17. suppose it might have the air suspention (airbags) and the height control is on high for the pic? just a thought.
  18. another thing... notice how his radio is on. i cant imagine what his antenna looked like after doing that kind of speed (if it was still there at all)
  19. Its very possible. doing 135+ in my 94 was smooth as silk. no kidding. with properly balanced tires and everything else in good working order it should be rather smooth. a high speed camera also might be it. my brothers digital camera can freeze thinks moving really fast and its very clear. the only thing is... who has the balls to do that kind of speed in broad daylight?? when i hit 135, it was @ 3 AM and they were NO cars on the local beltline.
  20. I work at the lexus dealer here in Raleigh (johnson lexus) and i get some sort of discount on parts and half off for labor. they told me that a set of plugs would run me about $80 ($10 a pop) and theres no shipping(duh). anyway, thanks for all your help guys. I'll probably clean mine tomorrow. Thanks again
  21. my last car was a 94 mazda 626 with a bent mast. the motor could be heard whenever the radio was turned on and off. i pulled the fuse. your LS probably is the opposite. If the motor was ok and the mast was bent, the motor would probably be heard. hope this helps
  22. its not that i think it'll hurt my performance, i am just wondering if its worth the time and energy or not. and yes, i can afford $5.
  23. i have a 94 LS with 159,000 miles on it. I am getting horrible gas milage and i dont currently have the $$ to do plugs ($10 a pop) and wires ($140). I am wondering if i clean out my throttle body (which i have that PP presentation to help me) will it really make that much of a difference? Thanks for your help in advance.
