  1. Right the 2005 model now is out. The 2006 model will be sold in Sept next year. Expect IS 250/250/AWD, sedan, coupe and convertible models. ← Looking forward to it & yes it will be a 2006 model. :D
  2. Thanks sw.....I'll keep you posted early in the new year! I appreciate it! :)
  3. Specific information should be listed in your owners manual or Lexus maintenance guide. If you don't have one, you should contact Lexus USA to get one free. B) I think the 90k service includes the timing belt (water pump is a wise idea at the same time). Do you have any service records / warranty work from the vehicle? Might want to consider a complete (100%) tranny flush, engine coolant flush, power steering fluid change & brake fluid change. Basically (depending on the service record history) all fluids. Preventitive maintenance is a wide idea. B)
  4. I have Firestone Firehawk 225/55/16. Actory size. It looks like one whell tilts in at the top. ← OUCH They have been known to have bulging sidewalls among other problems others with that model tire have reported. You can do a search on tirerack to find out what other people are saying about the many problems with the Firehawks........if that's the case, nothing but tire replacement is the solution. I'll never buy Bridgestone OR Firestone tires......ever, because of past experence.
  5. Agreed gents! It only makes sense that way or the folks that maintain these forums would never get to bed! If they did a seperate 330 forum, you know what's next? A seperate 400h one.
  6. I recommended them to my sister in law last winter as well....she love em! B)
  7. why have I read there is a separate drain for the diff. Someone said about 2.5 quarts if you just drain the trans and about 4 if you do the trans and diff. I also saw somewhere that you had to fill the diff seperately through a plug till its level with plug? Now I'm confused. ← I personally do a 100% fluid change not the drain & fill method.......I perfer to have all the old fluid flushed out of the torque converter & such. One needs about 15+ quarts to do this process. I also change the tranny pan gasket & clean the filter mesh screen at the same time.......they call it a tranny tune up. B)
  8. I'll side with sk & sw with this issue as well. It's not necessary.......that would mean (for the ES forums that there should be at least 3 different ones & possibly 4 if one includes the ES 250 of the very early 90's). :whistles:
  9. If one of those are made, I doubt they would bring them to North America (even though I think it's a very wise idea). Europe perhaps, but not North America. B)
  10. It's a good idea at least once a year to put a real good coating of wax (or Chrome polish) on the rims whether or not you use them in the winter to protect the finish. OEM rims (chrome or not) hold up much better than many aftermarket stuff. B)
  11. I'd stick with the proper oil grade Lexus calls for your RX.......& stay away from Fram filters.....they are crap! Either stick with Lexus (or Toyota), Mobil 1 oil filters , which us Canadians are only able to get in the States.....or a K & N oil filters available at Canadian Tire (I usually wait till they are on sale in their flyer & buy several). Did you get service (oil changes history on the RX mess? I think your RX has the pink 'super long life coolant' which is good for 5 years & over 200,000 kms? so I wouldn't add the royal purple stuff as the factory coolant is heavy duty stuff as it is. ;) I'd also consider purchasing a 'Lexus' extended warranty.....if something goes worng after the warranty expires, it's worth it's weight in gold! Good Luck! & welcome to the club. B)
  12. Not in the hydroedge....but a very close equilivent....the Goodyear Triple tread does come in some 'H' speed rated sizes & is good for 80,000 miles.......very good reviews on this fairly new premium all season! B)
  13. Agreed! B)
  14. maybe because the tire dealer you spoke to doesn't sell them? ← Very good possibility! B) Everything that CR has written about the Falken's have come true & we have had a couple snow storms mixed with freezing rain) so far in the last 2 weeks & all I can say (both my wife & I have driven them in the snow & ice) is they are just awesome for grip, handling, being quiet........6,500 miles on them already & no sign's of wear (just did a rotation) & they hold their air pressure just great. Many tire dealers haven't even heard of these tires to be honest so I'd make some more phone calls if your still intrested or better yet, go to their website. WWW.FALKENTIRE.COM
  15. The 2006 Avalon is worth a closer look that's for sure! B)
  16. Perhaps drive in one's lifetime......I've driven many & honestly I have never been all that impressed with them (3 & 5 series I've driven). Rent one for a week or so & get it out of your system lol. B) ;)
  17. Agreed....it could be other factors even though you have had a 4 wheel slignment done.....check all the basics first & let us know any findings. B) What kind & what size tires do you have on the car now?
  18. My wife has the Falken's you mention (Ziex ZE-512) & they are awesome! I will seriously consider putting them on my ES to replace my Toyo Proxes TPT which I also am VERY happy with. My sister-in-law has the Michelin Hydroedge (both at my advice) on her Ford Focus. She loves them but complained about the price was a bit higher then she wanted to pay.....but she's good for about 140,000 KMS (80,000 miles). The only thing is the Hydroedge is a much lower speed rating than either the Falken or the Toyo (both you can get in either H OR V speed ratings). You can beat the price of the Falkens either & there a Japanese tire to boot! Go with either the Falken's or Toyo's or if you want, consider the new Goodyear Triple Tread.....some sizes you can get in 'H' speed rating & are good for a long treadlife as well. (Falkens & Toyo's are rated for 60,000 miles). Good Luck! B) What model of Lexus do you need tires for & what is the exact size you need lovlex? You can also do a search on here as I have recommended both the Toyo & Falken's many times & many members are very happy with them.
  19. Agreed! They haven't perfected the run flat yet.....so I'll stick with a 'standard tire' also! B)
  20. I'm intrested how long they last as well......keep us posted! B)
  21. Any idea if it's the same size fuel tank as in the regular 330? & what do you predict the price premium will be over the 330? I'm guessing about $4,000 - $7,000 range?
  22. An excellent article.....a lot of time & effort went into that & you deserve a well earned & deserved congrats!! WELL DONE!!! :D
  23. I think lexusk8 is in your neck of the woods. :)
  24. Shirley, Did you ever get your problems resolved on your ES?
