    okay, so toysport is the way to go...their engine only has 10k mi. on it, so it's practically a brand new engine. il try getting them to throw in other things too. thanks for the replies!

    hey, im looking for the 2jzgte all over the web and it seems very limited, except for the jdm ones. toysport wants 6500, i know going through them will make me feel safe and secure, but il be too poor afterwards for any other upgrades. someone know of a nice engine shop in the US? il go up to 5500 just for the engine itself. thanks.

    400 for a pop. 450 for just the outside lens. that's ridiculous...the entire housing is less than just the outside lens...wonder how toyota work their prices....

    hey aj, do you have the website or number to gtp? i'm thinking about just buying the damn hood cracked and all and just paint it over, cuz i have a crashed sc300 5spd and the hood needs to be replaced. you think the cfhood will withstand aging???

    you are right on the money awj. i called and asked where it was from, he gave me the run around til i asked if it was from gtp. and he said yes. damn, are there any reliable distributor for cf hoods for our sc's??

    andysautosport.com has a carbon fiber hood for $512 til may 6th, then it bumps back up a few bucks. has anyone dealt with them before? i remember awj had a few problems with his cf hood, so i''m just inquiring about these guys.

    yeah...i was thinking jdm too, but phil at flyhawaii.com strongly urged me not to since smogging will be a problem. and it starts at 280HP unless you make it less restrictive somehow like the usdm's. hey bean, you seem to know about the 2jz's. what are the differences between the gte and ge besides rods and gaskets? do you have some good readings on that? thanks.

    i was going to go forged everything but the guy that will be dealing with my engine recommends otherwise. he's been working with toyota engines for over 30 years and has a legal shop around the city, so i think il take his words on that one. he does acknowledge that forged is better performance though. so basically i'm getting .5mm bores, parts and labor and everything will run me $3900. i think that's better than paying 5000 for a high mileage USDM motor.

    i just got my salvaged sc300 5spd and i was thinking...would it be more economical for me to just have my 2jzge rebuilt to be just like the supra's gte? and how about the wiring harness...can i jsut use the stock sc300's or must i get the supra TT's too? thanks for any reply.

    mr O if you see a black sc with blackouts, you can say hi.

    i blacked out my headlights. use RC window tint paint, light will still shine through. i sprayed the outside, but if i were to do it again, i'd take apart the housing, clean it, then spray the inside.

    my father's 99 v-6 camry is actualyl very quiet, and corollas too. i think it's an sc/ls thing...

    i took off the heat shields to my cats, and no more pingings. it doesnt seem like anything may be harm from the heat too.

    i beleive you bleed the furthest ones away from the master cylinder first. someone can correct me if im wrong.

    hey , i knwo that the 97+ sc's have a different bumper, spoiler and side skirts. is the back bumper different too? -im trying to get a hold of these parts to convert a 92-96 5spd.

    the great thing is, once the new parts from the tune up breaks in, the car will drive even better.

    sounds good, we just got a welder too so modification for the tranny is possible. can't wait til summer comes around...

    i've also been thinking of the sc300/2jzgte swap for this summer. does any of you happen to know where is a good place to start looking for salvage sc300 bodies and a JDM 2jz? i know this one guy who found a JDM 2jzgte w/6spd for 3000 bucks. unfortunately i havent ran into him lately. **i've been reading brief infos about this swap, and i thought i read that the jdm wont be a perfect fit like the usdm's. i dont know if it is true, can anyone verify this?
