  1. okay, i have read many sources telling me that my 1992 sc400 finishes the quarter mile in either 15.1 or 15.3 seconds... and the IS300 in 15.3. i somehow highly doubt that, because i know i can smoke the **** out of an IS. i've driven them before and by far is it anywhere as fast as my v8. i have also read about other cars doing quarter miles around the sc400's recorded time such as the integ Type-R...and i have swallowed a few of those alive. here's the question, does anyone know if the sc400 is faster than what is being reported? or maybe is mine a better built one compared to the ones tested? i've heard that many stock Supra TT dynos at 650HP because it is soooo well built by toyota. either way, i shall dyno my vehicle once smog comes around again since its California's regulation now.
  2. yeah, i can post it, but it may be a while since i dont have a digicam. i'll try and get my friend to take it for me...il have it up in a few days.
  3. my plate is folded with the state name not showing. looks a lot better on the SC's, and i'm in cali where we also have those laws. and yes, i have never been pulled over for that, yet
  4. hey anyone know where i can have a custom Y-pipe made for the sc400?? how much about?
  5. for some reason ever since i got my car, the tranny dipstick always shows that i have too much fluid. i do test it with normal temps and leveled, any ideas?? i changed my tranny fluid lately and added the recommended amount as stated by the manual as well.
  6. how about 76 pro power? i like to keep my fuel consistent, and theres plenty of 76's around to easily do that.
  7. im thinking about the 92-96 ES changer...but i like 12 discs...any other options?
  8. i took my 93 sc400 to get its fluids and breaks changed by my local dealer. they didnt have my car for me in time, so they gave me a loner.....a 2003 IS300. i had the car for about 3 days. i am convinced its the quickest little 4-door on the market. i got my car back today and went drving. it was then i realized that the sc still kicks the is's !Removed!. have any of you all had similar experiences or care to share some stories about trading cars for a couple days and deciding if u need a new vehicle ? personally, i dont think the IS300 deserves that much credit. i also have a 99 camry V6....that thing is amazinable fast. the most responsive car i have ever driven. it is rated only 194HP and i very easily took on a brand new mustange GT. everyone that has driven my car falls in love with it. then recently a friend of mine leased an IS300...it was crap compared to the camry v6. never tried any other camry's...so i dont know if that performance is consistent. if you are a person who like fast four doors...check out the camry v6
  9. yeah thanks, but now i have to tighten it back to 239lb-ft.
  10. no, i mean speed limitors. the ones they put on every single car to enter US borders. its different on every car. try pushing an integ over 120...wont happen.
  11. since when did sc's not have speed limitors???
  12. i've been using a 217lb torque impact wrench...doesnt even move it. so what i did was i found a socket wrench big enough to fit the fat bolt and wrapped the wrench with a thick pipe and let it land onto the floor then cranked the starter. popped right off.
  13. i see...can i use butane gas torch? and how do those dealership guys do it...removing a 239lb-ft bolt like that.
  14. hi, for all the mechanics that have changed timing belts, how the **** do i take off the crankshaft pulley bolt. that thing is in TIGHT and does not want to come out. impact gun doesnt work either, will an air compressor do? after i get it out, how do i apply that much force back in to tighten it again??? thanks for any help!
  15. i get the main picture here. i also tlaked to a toyota guy and he said once you go synthetic you gota stick with it or else its gunna start leaking oil if you switch back. true or false?? the climate around here fluctuates very often, but never extreme colds or extreme hots. so i will try out 0-40 then check out 5-30 next and compare. thanks for the help(s).
  16. hi, i have about 110k miles on my sc...which viscosity is best if i want to use mobil 1??
  17. i've done some homeworking and i dont think fluidyne makes one for the sc. does the supra ones fit??
  18. i'm not running a force induction sc400, so i really dont want to waste good money on an expensive ($400+) on a radiator. are there any reliable but not necessarily high performance radiators for about 200???
  19. an aftermarket radiator sound nice, do you know if fluidyne makes one for the sc's?? i'll check out that site, thanks
  20. hey, my radiator is leaking and i'm thinking about repairing it, but how reliable is that? lexus wants 500$ for a brand new one! how does that compare to a 180$ generic radiator from radiator shops?? thanks for any inputs.
