  1. Doing some simple maintenance on my 91 LS and need to know what I should use to clean the throttle body without damaging any sensitive parts inside it. Read about Throttle Body cleaner and MAF Sensor cleaner and all kinds of other cleaners but it just gets more confusing the more products I look at. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks in advance, B.
  2. I've found that when I went to add P/S fluid that the dipstick was quite gummy so I just topped off the fluid level and closed the hood.. I feel that the system needs a real good flush..Is there some kind of cleaner to flush the system or do I have to waste new ATF?? Thanks to all. B.
  3. My 91 LS has been doing the same thing for about 2 years, not all the time but periodically. Still blows cold. All I do is press the A/C button a few times and it stops blinking.. Whats up with that?
  4. Trying to locate a speedo sensor for my 91 LS 400.. Tried every aftermarket and some online dealers but nothing..finally found them at Autozone for 80 bucks..Is it wise to buy from them or does anyone know who else sells them..They claim that my car takes 2, is that correct?? Thanks for any input, Bobby
  5. Today my speedometer started acting up..It now reads about 10 to 20 miles faster than I am actually going..Is it a sensor problem or something else? If itis a sensor where do I find it or them??? Thanks, Bobby

  8. Only Napa Gold filters are made by Wix. The cheaper line is not so good. But once again you stoop to laugh at and belittle those on this board who do not share your opinion, which thankfully, most do not. I grow tired of you. Very well said SRK.....Cheers!!!!
  9. I use OEM parts in my LS, Pricier initially but worth it in the long run....91 LS400 230,000 miles and running strong!!!!!
  10. Hello all.. I've discovered a new and different noise coming from inside the left rear door..It sounds like something is cycling and clicking almost like the auto door locks but not as loud..It starts only in the morning when I first start the car and continues for about 10 or 15 minutes while driving and then stops and doesn't do it again untile the next morning. No matter how many times I start the car during the day, it won't do it again until it sits overnight.. It doesn't sound serious but it doesn't sound right either.. Any input would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks, Stroker
  11. [ I had the same situation with my 91 LS.. I seems that when the roof is open, leaves and other debris get into the drain channels and back up the water and start to soak the headliner.. You can use compressed air to clear the drain tubes but with not too much air pressure or you may blow off the drain tubes..I used a long piece of semi stiff wire and poked it thru the tubes, but you still have to be careful not to disconnect the drain tubes that carry the water out to the back of the car...Its a pain in the !Removed! job but it works! Good Luck... What should i do to fix this? I have takin my car through the was before and never had a problem. Now I'm woried so I havn't washed my car for over a month and a half. Thank goodness it dosn't show too much dirt. Is it just a seal that I need to replace or is it something bigger? any thoughts? Thanks in advance. KillerFatty

  14. Your best bet is books4cars.com.. They have a Chilton Manual for 60 bux or the real Lexus for 150 (both volumes) Good Luck Boy, you are right, that is pricey! Ebay would be the way to go.
  15. I think the whole setup looks great,,I too am not a fan of thin sidewall tires on this type of car...Great Look!! By the way, how would I go about getting those stickers for the calipers?? Thanks, Bob

  18. I have been looking for rain guard for my car for a while too (90ls400) and all I can find are for the front doors...I did find a company a while ago (over seas) but they were just too expensive. If I do find something fo all 4 door I'll let you know...meanwhile, I'll continue my search! There are a couple of places on ebay that say wood trim (but not real wood) for your car....what kind of radio do you have (single or double din). I have a kenwood double din radio and I did not need a dash kit...because I was able to use the stock bracket (whre the original radio was) to install my new radio and the radio came with an oversize trim ring (you can get just the ring on ebay too) and all I had to do was custom cut the ring to fit the contours of the center console. I also bought the wood trim kit ($100) and it looks pretty nice...I attaching a picture now....if you look right under the radio the custom cut wood piece did not fit right (opening was not high enough to fit radio..I sent this picture to the company) and they were able to redo it and ship it to my at no charge so now it fits perfectly! I am also attaching the dimension for the radio custom piece...so you know how to cut the trim ring. I hope this helps! I've been looking for rain guards for my 91 LS400 also and can only find fronts from WeatherTech...Do you remember the name of the company overseas...Thanks, Stroker P.S. New stereo install looks great!!!

  22. Thanks Bali26, 2 in the front corners and 2 in the back...What do I use to unclog if I find them plugged?? Should I try to snake a wire or something thru the drains?? I dont have access to compressed air... Thanks again, Stroker
  23. First time for this..Last night we had torrential rain here in South Florida, and this morning I found my headliner just about saturated.. My car has been through hurricanes and has never leaked anywhere..The seals on the moonroof look like new and the seals on the roof and doors look in perfect shape..There was not any water on the seats or floor or anywhere, just on the headliner...What does anyone think about this..I'm baffled....Thank you all in advance for any and all input, Stroker P.S. No water in the trunk either....
  24. I agree with VMF sounds like timing is off....Just for curiousity sake, what was price for job at Toyota vs. Lexus dealer Thanks, Stroker
