  1. Ugh. Why not just get a Chrysler 300 and put them on that?
  2. BWB was my first choice, but they couldnt locate one. I didnt want to special order, so I went with Tungsten. It all depends on what YOU like, but there are just SO MANY silver cars out there. i would still get the BWB if I could.
  3. The differential gets even smaller if, when hurting your performance, you hurt your gas mileage too (although, I've tested it out and don't see a measureable difference, but some people do).
  4. There's a video podcast on iTunes. Search for "Lexus".
  5. With AWD? no--look @ his car info @ the left of the screen
  6. Call Joe Gibbons at Lexus of Chester Springs. I think they can do better. I got my car there in the spring for about $700 over the Edmunds invoice listing; $4500 under MSRP. Ray Catena in Oakhurst NJ was aggressive in pricing too--I would have driven out there to buy if Chester Springs didn't beat them (Robert Stein, I think was the sales man). They will ask you if you're trading--answer "No, I think I have a buyer." Get the best price you can for the IS. Once you squeeze every nickel you think you can out of them, say, "What if I traded?" Only do that AFTER you have looked up the price on KBB.com. In SEPA, they will all quote you the "Manheim Auction" price if they are not going to put the car on the lot--they just sell the car to a wholesaler. The only way you can really be successful in bringing them off the Manheim price (assuming they are not fudging it) is if there's more $$ left in the deal you already struck for the price of the IS. You already have something to work with if they low ball your trade. Chester Springs told me over the phone, sight unseen, they would give me KBB.com price, as long as it was truly in the condition I said. And they did (but not a penny more).
  7. What does the dealer say? The obvious answer is that maybe you have a slow leak, but I would think the dealer would find it. Probably not a bad sensor battery, otherwise the warning wouldn't turn off. Did you check the TSIB sticky thread?
  8. I just clean my windshield when the lights are in the off position if I do not want the lights sprayed. It is kind of dumb when you have a button that is for spraying the lights that it automatically sprays them when the lights are on. :whistles: I agree--problem is that sometimes I don't notice the windshield is dirty until it's streaky at nite. I'm not going to pull over and turn off my lights to clean it. There should just be some simple setting that turns on and off the 2 washers being tied together.
  9. There's a DIY at Club Lexus--it requires re-wiring and splicing wires--no way I'm doing that. Or, you can spray your windshield before you turn your headlights on--the headlight washers only work with the HIDs on.
  10. you can also just put the seatbelt on. I'm with you about always wearing a seatbelt. However, just last week I experienced the annoyance of the alarm... I dropped my wife off at the train station and once I started rolling again (without her), the alarm started going off. The car assumed she was still in the passenger seat. And since her seatbelt was not connected - the alarm rang for almost a minute before silencing. Does anyone know if this is because I did not put the car in Park when she popped off the seatbelt and opened the door? I haven't had a chance to test it that way. I know there's a sensor in the seat to determine if anyone is there for the airbag deployment...maybe mine isn't functioning correctly? This doesn't make sense. You are correct about the airbag--the passenger seat has a sensor in it to determine if there is a passenger, and if so, how big the passenger is. That's why there's an Airbag On/Airbag Off light. The Airbag On light comes on when there's a passenger. The Airbag Off light comes on if there's a passenger detected that is small (like a child) and would potentially be hurt by the force of the airbag. How can the system properly detect the presence of a passenger for the airbag, but not the seatbelt?
  11. I saw a new CTS in the garage this morning. I went over to look at it, and the seatbelt was connected, even though no one was in the car (looked like some of those late '80s early '90s GM "automatic seatbelt" configurations, except the belt wasn't coming out of the door). I guess Caddy doesnt have a hidden procedure to disable seatbelt alarms.
  12. 1-I think you are referring to the last number dialed button, perhaps? Bottom right speed dial button? 2-You need to do the "Nav Hack". Search around this site, and be willing to tear apart your dash.
  13. Wow, helpful post. And you have better advice for a car that is litterally brand new, and it is clearly not a battery issue with the key, since the "No Key Detected" msg didn't flash? I don't think posts like yours are what this forum is all about.
  14. You have to pop off the face plate below the nav. It's definitely in the manual. Look in the sticky's above--there's one with the entire manual there.
  15. Dealer has to program it. You may save a few bucks buying it on eBay, buy you still need the dealer to program it.
  16. This is why I hate John Stossel. http://abcnews.go.com/2020/Stossel/Story?i...9000&page=1
  17. Then you need to call the dealer's GM and tear him/her a new one. The dealer is the ONLY one that can customize this. If they don't know, they are not giving you the "Relentless Pursuit of Perfection." IS_LPS.pdf
  18. I had 35 mi to empty, but there was more than 1/8 tank left, and I filled up with 13 gallons, so it's just some type of estimate.
  19. Do a search on iTunes for "Lexus". There's a video that highlights all '08 changes.
  20. I believe it's normally 70/30 R/F, but transferring up to 50% up front when slip is detected. Can't help on Audi comparison
  21. I don't know about going to a dealer but maybe a mechanic friend. A dealer may tie up the car for a long time. Take the car for a ride, radio off, then check radio,A/C,windows etc. Get on the highway and do 60-70 MPH and see if the front end and/or tire balance is ok.Let go of the wheel and see if the car goes to the left or right. Check the tires for tread waer.Ask for service paperwork. If possible, take someone with you that's more knowledgeable about cars then you. Maybe the Lexus dealer will do you a favor looking to get your service business. Otherwise, ask around for a reputable mechanic.
  22. You can't change this LPS yourself. About the only LPS you can change is whether the driver's door only unlocks when you grab the driver's handle vs all 4 doors unocking. Maybe the dealer set your window roll down the wrong way. You can have the dealer reset your LPS for free 1 time within a year of purchase. IS_LPS.pdf
