  1. So what if you offer $32k? If that's too low, they won't sell it to you. What could you possibly lose?
  2. Could never figure that one out. My dealer had 15 IS's on the lot and not one had the Luxury Package. Fortunately he had one (just one) with the LP that was arriving within the week. Wasn't the color I wanted but I still snapped the car up right away (I'm happy with the color now, although it's a bear to keep clean). The Luxury Package actually had just about every option I wanted (except for the nav system, which I got as well). It would seem to be a no-brainer to have at least a few of the IS's with the LP around for those buyers looking for it, unless it's not as popular an option as I would like to think... You nailed it. I had to have the Lux Pkg. There was not a Breakwater Blue one within 500 miles on the lot, or on the way. Nor could they find a Matador Red or a SGM (without black interior). It took four weeks, but they found a Tungsten/Serling one. It looks great. Apparently, less than 10% of all IS 250s are produced with the Lux Pkg, then, when you factor in the less demanded colors, they are darned near impossible to find.
  3. This was GREAT advice. I tried that this morning, it worked like a charm.
  4. I've had my car 2 weeks, and I can see the pivot clearly. Are you sure it's not turned off?
  5. I have 450 mi, and my gauge says tank avg is b/t 21-22. But--when I filled up last week, and I calculated miles driven divided by gallons added at my fill up, mpg was 20, not the 22 the car was telling me.
  6. I find the FM to come in clear--it's the AM that has poor quality...
  7. Tilt down side view mirrors are not std on the IS--you need to get the Lux Pkg or the Sport Pkg.
  8. According to the Lexus website, the Premium Pkg does not include tilt-down rearview mirrors. PREMIUM Pkg or LUXURY Pkg. Premium Package $1,290 [3] Auburn bird's-eye maple interior trim Perforated leather-trimmed interior Heated and ventilated front seats If you have the Lux Pkg (Electrochromic (auto-dimming) outside mirrors with auto tilt-down in reverse) the mirrors will tilt down in reverse if the mirror adjustment rocker switch is in the left or right position, but not the middle.
  9. The IS's AFS won't pivot when the car's stopped.
  10. I'm sure the Tech asked you, but are you sure they aren't disabled? The switch to the left of the steering wheel, where you can set the red ring for the speedo and tach also lets you turn of the AFS. I've had my car just over a week, and I can see the lights pivot around a curve. I haven't yet driven down a really dark, unlit road to see how much it helps, but I can see them moving. (you DO have the HIDs, right?)
  11. Not only can't I get it programed, in trying to program the homelink, the garage remote gets erased, and needs to be reprogramed (which reprograming works perfectly--so it's not the opener unit that's having the problem). Bizzare.
  12. I had the same issue with the RAZR (Verizon v3m)--I was fooling around in my car as the sales guy was doing the paper work and couldn't get it to work. You navigate on your phone to where you see it discoving "1 of 1" devices. There are left and right keys--the right one says something like "ID number" which is your phone's ID number. You DON'T want that button--you want to press the middle button on the 5-way button on the phone (phone screen should say "OK" at the middle bottom), then it asks you for the Lexus ID number. I dont know about the Treo. I hope this works for you. And if you can help me with my Homelink issues that I just posted a little while ago, I'd greatly appreciate it! :)
  13. Just picked up my IS 250 AWD. I'm having the darndest time getting the Homelink programmed. My garage door is a Genie Eccelerator with rolling codes. I tried holding the remote next to the mirror and holding down the buttons--that didn't work. For rolling codes, you must press the "learn" button on the opener, and the "depress" the homelink button 2-3 times. I got nothing. I even tried pulling the car in the garage and doing it, so it would be closer to the opener, but that didn't work. I also tried just holding down the homelink button, as I did on my Acura and Honda--that didn't work either. Lexus service suggested checking homelink.com--the site has been down for 4 days. Any suggestions? Much appreciated.
  14. The backup camera is a "fisheye" lens, and things look A LOT further away in the camera than they really are. If you can locate the IPA, it's a good option. BUT if you get the Lux Pkg, the side view mirrors also tilt down in reverse, so between that and the camera, you could live without the IPA.
